Michigan State Summer Volleyball

I miss the feeling of accomplishment when I get an amazing dig and the rush of being on the court with my teammates. I miss the proud moments of beating the teams we didn’t think we could, and coming back from being down by so much, just by working together as a team. Volleyball was my passion— I loved playing it; even though I was small for my age compared to all of my other friends who played, I still worked twice as hard to prove to myself and my teammates that I had some skill. I had played on my middle school team in seventh and eighth grade, but I desperately wanted to play in high school. By the time the summer before my freshman year rolled around, I only had 3 months until high school try outs, which was a team I deeply wanted to be …show more content…
I was jumping around, having fun with my friends, and just one mistaken step caused my ankle to roll the wrong way. I heard and felt an awful tearing and cracking noise that sounded like popping popcorn and the cracking of knuckles. I immediately went into panic mode, telling myself everything was going to be okay, that it was summer and I had nothing significant going on—until I remembered volleyball camp. I had made plans to attend the Michigan State summer volleyball camp about a month later with my friend Megan. I was beyond excited to go so I prayed my ankle would heal in time. I was so frightened to even touch it, let alone move it, so it had my friend guide me towards the picnic table to eat dinner. I iced it and iced it, hoping it would help bring the swelling down, but nothing was working. What I neglected to do was to inform my mom about the awful event I had just experienced, expecting my ankle to be fine. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal. I was trying to hide what just happened for a little bit longer; I didn’t want to get in trouble or for my mother to be disappointed and mad at me. Young Goodman Brown experienced something similar; he was ashamed of the task he was planning to executed, so he hid behind some nearby bushes in order to avoid having to …show more content…
Let me tell you, it was one of the worst weeks of my life; sleeping was so uncomfortable. I could barely walk and I kept thinking about volleyball. All I wanted was to be able to go to camp because that could help me improve a lot, which would increase my chances of making the team. And not being able to practice meant I would have an even worse chance of making it. I kept telling myself if only I didn’t go on that trampoline and listened to my conscience, I wouldn't be in this position right now; I would be able to keep playing and keep getting better. But sadly I couldn't reverse back time. By the end of the story Young Goodman Brown begins to regret his decision to continue toward evil, when he returns his relationship with Faith is ruined and now everyone in the village looks down upon

These thirty-seven words make up the civil rights law Title IX, which is widely known for reforming athletics, although it is never directly mentioned. First, the detailed history shows how many people worked rigorously to get the law passed. Furthermore, Title IX’s numerous tests show how verify schools complying with the law. Lastly, Title IX has increased the participation of women in athletics significantly over the past forty years. Flashback forty-one years to before Title IX changed the lives girls and women forever. People like Pat Summitt, arguably one of the best women’s basketball coaches ever, was not receiving fair treatment while playing collegiate basketball. In 1972, before Title IX was signed, Summitt played basketball for the University of Tennessee-Martin. The team was given uniforms that were used in the Physical Education classes and placed numbers on the back with tape....

SEGMENTATION The fashion apparel retail market can be segmented using the following factors: geographic, demographic, and psychographic. Before entering the market, American Apparel studied these factors to create segments. In terms of geographic factors, American Apparel could have alternatively chosen to target include those living in rural small towns, far away from a major metropolis, or in the middle of a farming community. While American Apparel operates over 150 stores in the United States alone, there are less than 24 retail outlets located in the Midwest[1]. As far as demographic factors are concerned, American Apparel mainly steers away from tweens and the under-18 age bracket. American Apparel also chooses not to go after the popular 34-45 age bracket, or people over the age of 45. (But not for the reasons you think) By Sheena McKenzie, for CNN February 19, 2014 -- Updated 1356 GMT (2156 HKT) STORY HIGHLIGHTS * Paris isn't the most fashionable city in the world. But here's why it's the coolest * Forget tired cliches, Paris is about discovering hidden gems away from tourists * Top tips: Partying in derelict mansions, or watching indie films in antique pagodas Editor's note: Fashion Season: Paris takes you behind the scenes of the Paris catwalks and beyond, exploring the French capital's most stylish hidden corners. The show airs Monday 24 to Friday 28 February on CNN International, with daily reports in 'News Stream' at 1300 GMT and 'Connect the World' at 2000 GMT. (CNN) -- So New York thinks it's the most stylish city on the planet? Sure, the Big Apple was named top dog in the latest rankings of fashion capitals around the world, pushing Paris into second place, and London into third. But can you party in an abandoned Rothschild mansion in New York? Can you watch indie films in an antique Japanese pagoda? Can you chillax on the beach in the heart of the city? Nope? Well, mes amis, you can in Paris. Whatever the world's fashion dignitaries might say, the City of Light is much more than stripy t-shirts and the Eiffel Tower. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find a single Parisian jostling with the tourists atop that particular feat of architecture, says culture blogger Vanessa Grall. "Paris doesn't have...
