Question 1
The UPS Smart Label is a computer-generated shipping label, in which the barcode is one of the important elements. We can create it by our own person computer.
Because the barcode contains data imported directly from your system so smart-label packages pass through UPS systems at top speed, we can benefit its role - the increased reliability, improved transit time and access to value-added services reserved for packages with UPS Smart Labels
Question 2
Step 1: The customer  main database system of UPS (about information and destination of the package)  automatically generates a smart label which attached to the package for shipment  picked up by the driver (each driver has DIAD IV)  the package is scanned and all this information sent up to the main data center  system updates  the final destination center has all the information on hand available, for routing purposes and planning ahead of time
In which,
 DIAD IV  shows the places of delivery and new pick-ups (if needed)
 UPS data center  customers can track all information about their package
 The UPS Package Center  scans and updates package

Question 3
To ensure maximum flexibility in field transmission capabilities the DIAD IV includes multiple wireless connectivity options, which are wirelessly connected to the main processing centers and the package centers. Generally UPS trucks contain a transceiver to work with the local driver's DIAD IV, and then communicate that information wirelessly back to the UPS processing center.
Each DIAD IV features a built-in GPRS and CDMA radio, an acoustical modem to facilitate dial-up access if necessary, and 802.11b wireless local area network connectivity to enable transmission in a UPS center. The DIAD IV also features a Bluetooth wireless personal area network and an infrared (IrDA) port to communicate with peripheral devices and

...INTRODUCTION This statistical project focuses on vehicles. These vehicles are a sample of 93 vehicles from a population of different models of cars by different manufactures in the USA. The 93 vehicles are categorized into six types being compact, small, mid-size, large, sporty and van respectively. To analyze the data in the data set of vehicles provided, two aims set out as guidelines are stipulated. The first aim is to compare price and mpg across categories of vehicles being compact, small, mid-size, large, sporty and van. To archive the first aim, price variables of both basic and top price are to be grouped according to the six car types. The mpg variables of mpg town and mpg best are also to be grouped according to the six car types. The Analysis Toolpak in Tools within Excel is then to be used to create tables for the price variables showing all descriptive statistics with the mean, median, standard deviation, range, skew measure, standard error, sum, count and coefficient of variation which is to be manually added in one table. There is to be an interpretation at the end of each table which includes concerns about the differences in the mean prices and mean mpg across vehicle types and the possible causes depending on whether it’s a mpg or price table. The distribution of price and mpg shapes across each vehicle type and what it means. Confidence intervals are to be used to talk about prices in the population of cars. Several differences of means tests on both prices...

Libai Poem Quiet Night Thoughts

... thinking of my home village. Brief explanation This is one of the famous poems from Tang dynasty. A poem related to Mid-autumn festival. This is a very famous one, written also by a very famous poet, Li Bai, who can even write excellent poems whilst he is drunk. This poem was also the first Chinese literature I learned. It is a story about how Li Bai misses his hometown while he was travelling all over the countryfar from his hometown. Deciphering with my words As you can see in above story, he saw a moonlight passing through and turn the ground in front of his bed to look like it was frozen. The impression that I got here is he feels lonely and sad. He filled the first 2 lines with sad vibes. Talking about moon and how its light make the ground seems frozen. Frozen has long be related with cold and sad feeling, like you lost something, I knew this from my experience as I once wrote my own poem. Later, he looks to the night sky to gaze over the moon. Here the impression I got is, that he starts to ponder about what makes him so sad, feels uncertain and lost. As he staring to the moon, all this emotion was brimming in his heart and so he lower his head, avoid the moonlight. He knows what makes him feel like this. It was how much he missed his hometown. Relation between the poem and its festival A full and bright moon symbolizes completion, so the Mid-Autumn Festival...

With the help of their union contract or the Merit Systems Protection Board for federal employees which was established to protect federal employees against abuses by agency management. The latest to show problems was in June 2011. An air controller near Gulfport Mississippi, who had been repeatedly disciplined, was the subject of a government safety investigation. The controller instructed two planes to take off toward each other into a near mid air collision. Another incident in which the air traffic controller was in line for termination occurred in 2009 at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, in which, a controller was blamed in part for a fatal mid-air collision because the controller was joking with an airport employee about barbecuing a dead cat while on duty. The FAA was also thwarted in attempts to fire a controller at JFK International for allowing his kids to make radio calls to aircraft. After the incident in Mississippi, the FAA suspended and decertified the controller who made the errors. Prior to this incident the controller identified by the NTSB as Robert Beck, had been suspended two or three times and received disciplinary action on several other occasions. In the investigation by the NTSB that followed the incident, it was found that the tower was not properly staffed...

Why Is Iceland Splitting Apart

...Iceland is Splitting Apart Iceland is a small country found in the near the North Pole. Currently the country is splitting apart and there is evidence to prove it. Two tectonic plates are found in Iceland that are moving away from each other. In the past this tectonic plate movement has caused significant changes to the way land is distributed around which shows these tectonic plates have the power to split continents. Tests have also been conducted on Iceland which show that the tectonic plates are moving apart, splitting Iceland in two. A piece of evidence that suggests Iceland is splitting apart is that Iceland has two tectonic plates moving away from each other under the country. Marketing

...1.0 INTRODUCTION 2.1 THE NATURE OF MARKETING Marketing is understanding the needs of the situation, and the way resources and people can be applied to it, and then reacting appropriately, as opposed to following a formula. To put it simple, marketing is a process cycle as follows: i) Customer buys or potential customer is contacted. ii) Finding out how the customer liked the product or what is needed. iii) Analyzing these data and creating a plan that includes goals and strategy. iv) Implement the plan which results in the customer’s buying the product. v) Repeating the cycle starting with step (i) to make a better product sold with a better plan and continuously keeping this cycle going. 2.2 VALUE OF PRODUCT The value of a product may be conceptualized as the relationship between the consumers’ perceived benefits in relation to the perceived costs of receiving these benefits. Value = Benefit / Cost Value is thus subjective (i.e, a function of consumer’s estimation) and relational (i.e, both benefits and cost must be positive values). 2.3 VALUE PROPOSITION DEFINITION Value proposition is a powerful succinct statement that will: i) Describe how you are unique, and therefore differentiate you and your product/service from your competitors in your market. ii) Resonate directly to the company brand – yours and your prospects. iii) Give you insight about how to effectively market your product/service. This statement...

Chinese Mythology

...Chang-e’s Ascent to the Moon Chang-e is the lunar goddess in Chinese traditional myths. In China, she is a widely known character. She is known as a very beautiful woman who is living alone in a palace in the moon called “Guanghan Palace”. Her story is one of the most famous tragedies in Chinese myths. Recently there are several “retold” versions of the story of Chang-e’s ascent to the moon in different media. In 2010, there was a teleplay named “Chang-e” that told about the love story of Chang-e, Houyi, Wugang and Jade Rabbit. In the retold story, the relationship of these four persons is very complicated at the beginning. Later on, Houyi falls in love with Chang-e and Wugang is in love to Jade Rabbit. They try to start their new lives happily. However, a great flood troubles people, and it can be only resolved by Chang-e. The Jade Emperor gives 2 pills to Houyi and Chang-e but one of the 2 pills is destroyed and exchanged a fake one by a scoundrel. Houyi eats the fake pill when he knows this since he wants Chang-e to float to the moon and control the tides, so that she can stop the disaster. At the end, Chang-e floats to the moon alone. Jade Rabbit sympathizes with Chang-e so she also floats to the moon to accompany her. The 2 couples are both separated. There are several versions of the ancient myth about Chang-e. But the most famous one is from the book “huainanzi”. Chang-e is Houyi’s wife. Houyi gets elixir from Xiwangmu (the Western Queen Mother), and give...

Aviation Crashes

...(NTSB), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and news media to draw my conclusion of the events. I will then explain how these air disasters changed aviation, what rules were put in place, what changes to aircraft design were made or what training was needed to prevent a repeat of the incident. I believe this topic is important to the history of aviation in America because we learn from our mistakes and with every aircraft incident new regulations were developed to increase the safety of flight. HISTORIC AIR DISASTERS In this paper, we will be revisiting three airline crashes that changed aviation. 1956 Grand Canyon mid-air collision, 1977 Tenerife Airport Disaster, and 1992 El Al Flight 1862. I believe that these three flights had a significant impact on aviation in terms of safety, design and procedures that are in place today. 1956 Grand Canyon mid-air collision The midair collision between these two airliners led to the birth of the modern air traffic control system. (Fss.aero, 2015) On June 30, 1956 a United Airlines Douglas DC-7 (United Airlines Flight UA 718) struck a Trans World Airlines Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation (Trans World Airlines Flight TWA 2) over the Grand Canyon, causing both aircraft to crash and 128 passengers to perish. This accident took place during a time when air traffic control (ATC) did not use radar and tracked aircraft via reporting points after a pilot made a report to his company dispatcher. Because ATC did not have radar and was...

This Naval Aviation Museum established in Oct'1998 is the only one of its kind in the whole of Asia. May be perhaps, it has not received the publicity it rightly deserves and hence remained unvisited and unseen by many Goans. WHAT IS A BLACK BOX? Often one of the first pieces of techno-speak that springs to mind when we hear of an aviation disaster - and a catch-all phrase popular with the media - is ‘Black Box,’ but how much do you really know about these vital pieces of equipment? Any commercial aeroplane or corporate jet is required to be equipped with a cockpit voice recorder and a flight data recorder. It is these two items of separate equipment which we commonly refer to as a ‘Black Box.’ While they do nothing to help the plane when it is in the air, both these pieces of equipment are vitally important should the plane crash, as they help crash investigators find out what happened just before the crash.  Often, for example when a plane crashes into the sea, as happened with the 1985 bombing of Air India flight 182 by Sikh terrorists over the Atlantic Ocean just west of Ireland, investigators have very little to go on – on this specific occasion...

Sea floor spreading is when new molten material comes up through the mantle onto the ocean floor. Continental drift is when the continents break apart and move. Plate tectonics is what the continents and ocean are on and moving on. Continental drift, seafloor spreading and plate tectonics are all related. Continental drift, seafloor spreading and plate tectonics are all similar in many ways. They all have many processes and in them. Spread Research Papers

... Sea-Floor Spreading, plate tectonics, and continental drift. Are all parts of the earth, that make the Earth still survive today.Seafloor Spreading is a geological process in which tectonic plates, large slabs of Earth’s lithosphere split apart from each other. Seafloor spreading helps us in many ways. One way is that, it makes up the the oceanic crust. Another way is that it makes large mountain ranges, that rise from the ocean floor.Plate tectonics is the theory that Earth’s outer shell is divided into several plates that glide over the mantle, the rocky inner layer above the core. These plates make up Earth’s outer shell, called the lithosphere. (This includes the crust and uppermost part of the mantle). There are 3 plate boundaries, Transform, Divergent, and Convergent. Transform boundaries are where the plates move sideways in relation to each other. Divergent boundaries are plates that move apart, And Convergent boundaries are plates that collide. When these plate are tugged, giant troughs form. Just like the one in Africa called the Great Rift Valley.Continental Drift, is the theory that explained how continents shift position on Earth’s surface. All of the continents look like they could fit together like giant puzzle pieces. Even though these scientific theories help us, they are still alike and different in many ways. For instance, Alfred wegener proved that the continents moved apart. But he could not prove how they moved. We later found out it was from plate...

Mid Air Collisions

...Mid Air Collisions Brian Saunders Human Factors David Miller June 18, 2011 Abstract No pilot is immune from a mid air collision and it is one of the pilot’s worst nightmares. Although rare, mid air collisions are a tragic event of when two airplanes collide with each other during flight. Statically speaking, nearly all mid air collisions happen during daylight hours and in Visual flight rules (VFR) conditions and astonishing enough, the greater part of mid air collisions take place within five miles from the airport. The first recorded mid air accident occurred at an air show in the city of Milan, Italy on October 3, 1910. Even though it was a miracle that both pilots survived the accident, mid air collisions would continue to occur without this favorable of an outcome. By the nineteen fifties, and with the introduction of the new generation commercial airplanes, people started to travel more by air than by train; a spur of change was needed. Between the years of nineteen fifty-six and nineteen fifty-eight, two high profile mid air collisions accidents occurred in uncontrolled air space. The accident between a United DC-7 and a TWA Constellation collided and crashed on 30 June 1956 over the Grand Canyon in Arizona killing all one hundred and twenty-eight passengers and crew. The second notable mid air collision was between a United Airlines Douglas DC-7 aircraft with forty-two passengers and two crew and a United States Air Force North American F-100 Super Sabre...

Do you think so? I don’t buy it. Thinking of moon cake, what things come up in your mind? The special taste, the nice look, or the feeling of family members get together? Anything else? For me, first, it’s the lotus paste moon cake, which contains yolks, lotus, a lot of sweet, and oil which is opposite to the health views now. Second, yes, that’s money. The traditional moon cake is getting more and more expensive, because of the raw material, and the fee of the process. It’s really a burden to some extend. Third, it’s health. Every year, followed by the Mid-Autumn Festival, the concern on the quality of moon cake comes, as well as the news about the disqualification of the moon cakes. Then here comes the new born moon cake. What about this one, the fruit jar moon cake having different kind with fresh tastes, or the ice cream moon cake with pretty look and cool feel, or let’s take a look on potato moon cakes, sesame moon cakes. Above all these new moon cake, we can get the conclusion that, these moon cakes have something...

The Story Behind the Moon Cakes of Beijing

...On this very special day, moon cakes are definitely the star on the dinner table for people across China. And here in the capital, the unique Beijing-style moon cakes have satisfied the taste buds(味蕾) of locals for generations. They may not look as fancy as Cantonese-style moon cakes, but the Beijing versions have their own unique features. The handmade, hard-crusted moon cakes are made of rock sugar, walnut kernels(核桃仁), pumpkin seeds(南瓜子) and qinghongsi(青红丝), or candied tangerine peel(陈皮) slices. "The most popular ones among Beijingers are zilaihong and zilaibai. Zilaihong uses red sugar in the dough, while zilaibai uses white sugar. The taste is simple but pure," said Chi Xiangdong, former Owner of Dao Xiang Cun. And there’s an interesting story behind zilaibai and zilaihong. Legend has that long ago a serious plague hit Beijing. To help the sick people, Chang’e the mythical Moon Goddess sent her servant the Jade Rabbit, which made two kinds of medicine, one red and one white. The medicine gradually evolved into zilaibai and zilaihong moon cakes, which preserved the red and white colors. Although it’s just a legend, ever since then, zilaibai and zilaihong moon cakes have always been linked to rabbits. "It’s actually a kind of toy for the kids, but it evokes memories from the past and definitely adds more fun to the festival," Chi Xiangdong said. Now, with more variations of moon cakes on the market, traditional Beijing moon cakes have begun...
