Midnight on the Motorcycle

August 24, 2013 at 12:54am

Midnight on the Highway, foggy lens, lonely road
The wind is cold, my face is dry and black the color code.
I stopped near a raging stream, lit a cigarette to calm my pensive mood
The tree toad echoed its song, the steaming Enfield engine and its machine mode.

An Old Man in a tattered rag, sleeping by the road side...
Looked longingly at my fire and joined me on that highway divide
As the smoke blew in the air, and its perfume my honey guide
The phantom smiled its toothless snide and melted into the night.

And there I stood on that lonely road casting my shadow by the red tail light
And the red glowing stars, in the purple sky, casting mirrors in the stream site.
And the faint smell of whisky still drifting in the air
Made me long for my sweetheart and how in her eyes I could forever stare.

Midnight on the highway, the tune of a song on my lips
I whistle on this lonely road, my wheels crushing a few tobacco thrips.
Crossing each dead man's turn I get further away from my home
Thinking of friends some dead, some gone and most who left me alone.

The hilt of my knife sits cold by my waist, the cold steel my constant friend
The blade I have sharpened this twilight, fit to make its cold descend.
It shall not feed I think tonight, at least, it is what I shall for the moment pretend
I have had more than my share of misfortunes and dealt many a bitter end.

The roaring engine tears through the darkness, every minute growing deep
My frozen fingers clasps the clutch desperate not to fall dead asleep,
And off across the hills, someone dreams in peaceful uninterrupted delight
While I ride this unholy hour haunting the dark highways every night.

...traffic accidents among motorcycle drivers . The study was focused to determine if the ability of motorcyclists to be seen on the road to be a vital cause for motorcycle accidents on the road (Wells , et al , 2004 The study was conducted over a period of three years in Auckland , New Zealand where the authors selected 150 survey sites on major motorways The study was conducted on random times between six in the morning and midnight on different days of the week and different directions of travel . The participants of the survey were randomly selected on the road and were interviewed as to whether they use their headlights during the daytime , if the driver uses reflective or fluorescent clothing materials while on the road , the color of the motorcycle vehicle , the color of the clothing of the driver and the helmet color used by the driver . Based on their findings , they were able to conclude that the use of headlights during the daytime , reflective or fluorescent clothing and light color helmets greatly reduced the chances of the driver from being involved in a motorcycle accident that may result to severe injuries or death (Wells , et al , 2004 Although the article was informative as to what precautions a motorcycle driver can take in to avoid getting involved into a major road accident that could kill the driver or leave the driver permanently disabled , the study is very limited in that they only concentrated on how the visibility of the motorcycle driver is on the road...

...motor on a motorcycle. The shovelhead motor was made between the years 1966 to 1983. It is called a shovelhead because the rocker box (or the heads) looks like the top of a shovel, hints shovelhead. The name of my bar alone will help differentiate my bar from other bars and it will let my demographic group, more specific bikers, know what kind of bar it is just by seeing the name. Shovelheads will be located in Birmingham, Alabama around the 5-Points area. I chose this location because it’s a centralized location for a lot of biker. This is a heavily populated area with a lot of traffic, so a high quantity of people will be passing by and hopefully they will see us and come in for a drink. I just hate people driving and especially riding a motorcycle after they have been drinking. I want to limit the amount of riding for bikers. Hopefully I will be able to accomplish this for a large number of bikers who live in the suburbs surrounding the Birmingham area. After a while at the Birmingham location if Shovelhead’s is doing well, I would like to open one more out in the country around Columbiana. This will be in a more rural area, which will let the bikers be able to get rowdy and loud without bothering anyone around them. But that will come later. Now that I have told you where Shovelhead’s will be located, let’s see what Shovelhead’s will look like. The color scheme for Shovelheads will be a Kelly Green and Midnight Black. All the walls will be painted in Midnight Black. Black...

...As of April 1, 1994, all new drivers applying for their first car or motorcycle licence enter Ontario's Graduated Licensing System (GLS). Graduated licensing lets new drivers get driving experience and skills gradually. The two-step licensing process takes at least 20 months to complete. To apply for a licence, you must be at least 16 years old and pass a vision test and a test of your knowledge of the rules of the road and traffic signs. After you pass these tests, you will get a Class G1 or M1 licence and a driver information package for new drivers. You must pass two road tests to become fully licensed. New drivers earn full driving privileges in two stages and have five years to complete the program (Classes G1, G2, M2 or M2 with condition "L") and graduate to a full licence (Classes G, M or M with condition L). Graduated Licensing for Automobile Drivers Class G1 New drivers of passenger vehicles learn to drive with six important conditions with a G1 licence. A new driver must hold a G1 licence for a minimum of 12 months before attempting the G1 road test. With the Benning phase (squad patrols), Dahlonega phase (mountains platoon patrols) and the Florida phase (swamp operations). First I needed to survive the grueling torture that my body would take over the next three months. In the first week of Ranger School we had to do the following: Monday, we arrived at four in the morning and began filling out paperwork. Then at six we began the physical fitness test. After that we had briefings all day. By midnight thinking that we were going to be able to go to bed, we were tricked by having to stand on a gravel pad for two more hours. That was the first of many mind games the Ranger Instructors would play on us. For the first week lack of...

Driving

...Highways and interstates will, by design, have a shoulder - a strip of land along the roadway that may be paved or consist of gravel or dirt. Shoulders should be engineered to support the weight of an automobile, leaving a place for drivers to stop in an emergency. They are not, however, designed to support extensive driving. Other safety features found on highways may include guard rails, street lights and electronic notification signs. These features, as well as vehicle safety technologies, are in place to protect drivers from the dangers inherent in driving. However, the number one cause of collisions is driver error. Traffic safety is the primary responsibility of all highway users. You can carry out this responsibility by practicing safe and courteous driving behavior. Texas has a highway system that is considered to be one of the most extensive systems in the United States. Annually, Texas drivers will log over 187 billion miles. In recent years, the state of Texas has seen the numbers of traffic fatalities increase. Two primary contributors to this increase are speeding and driving while intoxicated (DWI). Any driver in the United States can reduce fatalities and injuries by simple acts such as using safety belts. If we all contribute to responsible driving, we can drastically decrease highway fatalities. It begins with YOU. Make a personal commitment today to carefully pay attention to the content of this course and to study the Texas Driver Handbook. Do this to develop...

Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey

...As for 60’s cinema, an unclear plot with no clear path was sort of common. We see this happen in films such as The Graduate where both the audience and Dustin Hoffman’s character have no idea as to what will happen next or as to what the next move should be. At this point in time, cinema is seriously considered to be a type of art. It is allowed to be confusing and experimental, and as Simon Hitchman claims, “...was thematically complex, formally innovative, morally ambiguous, anti-establishment, and rich in mythic resonance. They spoke for a generation disillusioned by the Vietnam War, disenchanted by the ruling elite, and less willing to conform than their parents” (Hitchman). However, when we think of New Hollywood films, we think of Midnight Cowboy, Bonnie and Clyde, and The Graduate. The last film we think about is 2001: A Space Odyssey, and this is because this film was a little bit ahead of it’s time. Had it come about a decade later, it would have fit in more with the sci-fi movies of the seventies (Star Wars, E.T, etc.). New Hollywood films were all about sex, drugs, and rebelling against the American dream. Kubrick’s film really had nothing in common with the rest of the...

...Tiffany Talks with an Editor for ‘Vogue Girl’ During Her Photoshoot Posted by bhost909 on March 22nd, 2012 Views: 610   Tiffany’s appearance in the April issue of “Vogue Girl” also featured a staff account of the photoshoot by editor Jung Soohyun. #1 West Hollywood “So, should we shoot in my neighborhood?” She spoke lightly as if she was saying to a friend she met on the street by coincidence, “Come over sometime.” Tiffany, who appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman” and performed in concerts in France and Thailand, said that she was going to Los Angeles to meet her family members and friends. Right before she left for the 2012 Burberry Prorsum F/W Fashion Show, she received a short break of five days. Technically, she received four days and a morning, but she spent fifteen hours of that time with Vogue Girl. Moreover, she did not request for a room in the Chateau Marmont (translator’s note: a luxury hotel in Hollywood), nor was she accompanied by a manager. She just wanted to stay in her home with her family. She got on the plane two days before the other staff, and we decided to stay at a place near her house. Ah, I almost forgot: what was worse was that she spent the first day of her break dying her hair for this shoot. She changed the jet-black hair from her musical, Fame, to a bright orange-brown color. To be honest, when we heard from Tiffany’s hairstylist that she was going to dye her hair, I thought that was the most unrealistic aspect of this shoot. I actually...
