Miguel Barocio Ruiz is a twenty three year old hispanic migrant worker. Miguel was straight forward and did not have any trouble answering my questions. He was somewhat serious. Miguel was born in Hollister California. His father first migrated here in 1970 but then got deported back to mexico for being undocumented. A couple of years later his father crossed again but only this time with his family. Mr. and Mrs.Barocio came to the United States for a better life. They crossed the border with Miguel’s older brother hoping to find opportunities they didn’t have back in Mexico.

Miguel’s father first came to the U.S. in 1970. “He crossed the border in the back of a pickup truck” Miguel said. “He came to the U.S. because he wanted to be able to support my family.” His father ended up in Arizona for two days. He then ran into some trouble and got deported. The second time Miguel’s father crossed the border he brought Miguel’s mother and brother with him. They found jobs in the fields picking up cherries, strawberries and apricots. They later had Miguel. …show more content…
He picked up apricots for living. He later stopped in 8th grade and focussed on school. Two years later he started to work in the fields again. Miguel described the working conditions as tough. “I have to wake up early in the morning around five, six , seven” he said. The salary isn’t all that great either. “I have to work all day just to get five, six dollars.” Working out in the fields Miguel ran into some trouble. When he was in Arizona he got pulled over by the cops. “They asked me for my papers.” “I was scared.” he said. Although he ran into some trouble. Miguel described Arizona as a good place to
