Mike Kubic wrote the piece The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire which undoubtedly confirms that at all levels of government there should be safety regulations so the United States will prevent another tragedy like this from happening. Kubic states “it caused the deaths of 146 seamstresses and other workers—123 women and 23 men, at least two of whom were 14 year-old girls working 72 hours a week for less than a dollar a day.” tragedies like these could’ve been prevented if the building was equipped with sprinkler system. Also Kubic says “Second, many of the employees who did get out in the hallway still could not escape because the stairwells were on fire, and the poorly maintained elevators were either too slow or crashed.” having faulty elevators
