...This site is undergoing changes and may be offline from time to time over the next 2 weeks) ----------------------- What is an ecosystemic perspective? From a biological perspective, an ecosystem describes a view that parts of nature integrate into each other at various levels. Parts of nature are not completely separate entities but are related to each other in one form or another. An ecosystem is formed by the interaction of a community of organisms within their physical environment. The interaction may be biological, physical, psychic or all. Thus, ecosystemic thinking has a relational context with an awareness of interconnectedness between organisms. An ecosystemic awareness is not new. This thinking [and living] has been common in China at least 1400 years ago with Fa-tsang a commonly referred thinker in this regard amongst others (Cook, 1977). It has been present in and around India well over 2000 years ago. Thus, this thinking or more correctly, this epistemology (the way we know what we know) has been available since early times. What then is ecosystemic psychology? There are many definitions of ‘psychology’. Most do agree that psychology refers to the science or analysis of mental life. Thus, ecosystemic-psychology could be described as psychology in context. For example, a set of traffic lights on your busy street corner has an obvious function. This same set of traffic lights in the middle of a desert is not obvious and may be absurd. Thus, context...

GE culture is highly influenced by the factor of innovation. This can be considered as the prime reason for its existence over such a long period of time along with maintaining present level of goodwill in the market. This can be best represented by handy model as this model laid its focus over maintaining flexibility in the work system of the organization which is an obligatory measure to be adopted in an organization like GE. b. Deal and Kennedy model relates two important aspects, i.e. risk and feedback associated with the company in a highly refined manner. This is a relevant model with respect to GE because of the level of diversity present in its culture along with high potential that is required to make sure that all the competencies of GE are utilized appropriately. This has been depicted in below shown figure, (Deal and Kennedy's cultural model) 2.Mission statement of an organization is directly related with the inner strength of the company. This has to be defined in such a manner that it is not deviated from its main objective. It is liable...

...Social media has been around since humans began to communicate. One of the first signs of human social media was cave wall paintings. Some of the earliest forms of social media were not digital. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word social is "of or relating to human society, the interaction of the individual and the group, or the welfare of human beings as members of society. The word media means a medium of cultivation, conveyance, or expression. Media is also a plural form of medium and a medium is a particular form or system of communication." Some of the earliest forms of social media were primitive and did not involve a computer, but did involve some type of technology to convey the message. Cave paintings were created using pigments, "Ancient peoples decorated walls of protected caves with paint made from dirt or charcoal mixed with spit or animal fat. In cave paintings, the pigments stuck to the wall partially because the pigment became trapped in the porous wall, and partially because the binding media (the spit or fat) dried and adhered the pigment to the wall (Ages)." All living things communicate to each other in some way or another, but humans leave lasting impressions intentionally. A fossil leaves an impression, but it doesn't do it on purpose or do it by using technology. Communication and networking (network in the sense of the word to purposefully interact with others) are vital to our survival and our history. The cave paintings of Lascaux are...

...MINDMANAGER PRODUCTIVITY APPLICATION PROGRAM Ivanna Escudero Florida International University MAN 3025 June 10, 2016 Executive Summary Mindjet has a new application program that integrates flowcharts and concepts maps into the framework of the already established application. The application program will allow the firm that I work for in management and improve its organization’s system performance. The program upgrade has been launched with a new 2016 version labeled MindManager 2016 (Appendix 1). The application has 3 portfolios that facilitate the ease in organization of business, these are mind mapping, flowcharting and concept mapping. (Menaouer, 2015) To facilitate the ease in utilization of these portfolios, the new application contains a provision for combining them in a faction called diagramming. This is where we have mapping and map mapping combined in the single package program. This creates additional merit of mixing content types within a single map. The new program is quite effective on some critical business issues. Some of the issues addressed are brainstorming on ideas that affect the business in terms of proposing solutions. Secondly it facilitates the planning process in the business organization. Planning is vital in that it drives the goal acquisition process in the firm. Thirdly, the process improvement in the firm is of essence since it is a sure way to keep relevant in the market front and then stay afloat of the competition. Finally decision...

...Chapter 2 Mind Map Chapter 2 Lab Two Extra Sources Some of the things that I have learned from searching information on chapter two are that there are way more networking systems then I have ever dreamed about. I just thought WAN stood for wide area network and was just another name for the internet. I learned that WAN is everywhere we are and imbedded in our lives. One of the biggest claims of this would be the ATM. I have used it many times but never knew that it was running off of a WAN. I also found out that WAN can be localized as well as worldwide and that it can incorporate the city you live in, the state you live in, and even the United States. Mind Mapping is a brain emulating method for generating and organizing ideas. This was inspired by a great man and his way of doing things, which was Leonardo da Vinci's and his approach to note-taking. Now that is something really cool and another reason we should have been doing something like this a long time ago. Mind mapping is more than just a simple brain storming tool, it is a tool that we can use to organize our lives, organize our jobs and our responsibilities, and it can even be used to organize our day to make us more proficient in our jobs. I am glad that I have been introduced to this tool so early in my career. Bibliography WAN, MAN, LAN, PAN, And SAN: Evolution, Not Revolution | Digital ICs content from Electronic Design. (n.d.). ...useful when we can write notes in a right way. The aim of this report is to describe what is note taking, how we can take notes and why we take notes also when we should take notes and so on. What is note taking? Note taking is a process to write down all key words to help remember the main idea. It is an art to take someone else’s words from their lectures, speeches or from reading. “Note taking means organising your own thoughts ,often creatively, and note taking means summarising someone else’s thoughts, as expressed in a book, article or lecture” (Buzan, 2010). How we can take notes? There are several ways of taking notes such as: * Linear patterning * Symbols and Abbreviations * Analysis * Cornell method * Mind map * Structured Lists (numerical/alphabetical) * Linear patterning: liner notes are usually written in straight lines. Grammar, chorological sequence and hierarchical sequence is also used ( (Buzan, 2010). This is the typical outline format of note taking. * Symbols: These include letters, words and numbers (Buzan, 2010).This is one of the easiest ways of taking notes. Overall 95% people use symbols...

...three activities were all done in a team form. The first discussion talks about some skills and attributes are the factors to make a success. We then were asked to describe and express our own ideas and opinions what happened in a video that shows some young people’s dissatisfactions and requirements with their current work. Lastly, I completed a mind map with my three team members. Interpret We go through these procedures can learn a lot of things about the workplace. One of the things we have to know that some skills and attributes are the keys to success and a person who is able to work in a team are highly required by each company. As problems become more complex and interdisciplinary in nature, their solutions tend to require the assembly of group of people with different areas of expertise (Fogler and LeBlanc, 2007). Otherwise, some abilities such as interpersonal skill and computer technical skill will make us be able to communicate with people and work more effectively. Evaluated It is a very great experience to learn and discuss with lecture and classmates through this three hours. Especially I was very enjoyable with the mind mapping process, because each of us actively involved in painting, giving opinion. But throughout the process, there are few problems. First, some group have too much of members and the time given to process an activity is too short to make each of them voice out their ideas. On the other hand, some people are very shy to stand up representing...

Although, on the sheet attached, by completing the note taking analysis I have learnt that I need to improve the way I take notes considerably. My time frame to complete this task is one year. My notes are badly organised, not numbered, occasionally hard to understand, I rarely abbreviate and points are not clearly laid out. However, I do write it in my own words and it is generally brief. I plan to work on these points over the next year as well as over the next four weeks. After reflecting on my note taking skills I have learnt that I need to review how I take notes. I plan on using varying ways to take notes from now on. I will vary my note taking with other forms such as mind maps and work on making them precise, clear, well organised, good use of abbreviations and use line or page...

...DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE STUDY HABITS Mayland Community College S.O.A.R. Program Revised April 2002 GET THE STUDY HABIT Did you ever stop to wonder what sets apart the really successful students from the average ones? Why do some students who appear to study all the time just get by, while others who don’t appear to put in as much time and effort do well? Is it all related to IQ and genetics or are some other factors involved? The truth is that success in school is not so much determined by sheer intelligence as knowing how to study. Studying is a skill. Being successful in school requires a high level of study skills. Students must first learn these skills, practice them and develop effective study habits in order to be successful. Very often the study habits and practices developed and used in high school do not work for students in college. Good study habits include many different skills: time management, selfdiscipline, concentration, memorization, organization, and effort. Desire to succeed is important, too. In this module you will discover your areas of strength and identify your weaknesses pertaining to studying. You will learn about your preferred learning channel, tips to organize your studies, and ways to help you remember what you study. The skills you will learn about in this module can be applied in other areas of your life as well: your job, your career, or any activity that requires thought, planning, information processing, and selfdiscipline. You’ll find...

...several different options when brainstorming, which eventually lead to the same end result- a concept for a product. Some of the methods of brainstorming include the traditional brainstorming circle, brainsketching, speedstorming, electronic brainstorming, Phillips 66 groups, and the Delphi method of brainstorming. All methods have pros and cons associated with each. One of the most relevant cons associated with brainstorming is the bazooka effect. The bazooka effect occurs when an idea is presented during brainstorming, and someone else shoots it down without even considering it (142). This can cause the participants to not be as willing to share their ideas, therefor rendering the brainstorming exercise relatively pointless. Keeping in mind the possible bazooka effect, the best solution for generating an idea that can be developed into a viable product concept is a combination of the Delphi method and the traditional brainstorming circle. So that no ideas are affected by the bazooka effect,...
