Mindy is 25 year old female who came into the office to get assessed for panic attacks. Mindy reports that has been having them for many years and they occur multiple times throughout the day. Mindy goes meet the diagnostic criteria for Panic Disorder and thus would be diagnosed as such. The Criteria that Mindy meets are as follows:
A: Mindy has experienced trembling, nausea, sweating profusely, feeling as though she is choking, and fear that she will lose control
B: Mindy is often afraid that she will lose control and running into traffic.
C: Mindy has not reported any medical issue or drug usage that could explain these symptoms
D: At this time, it is not believe these symptoms are caused by any other mental disorders.
