Multicolor Corporation (NASDAQ: LABL) is headquartered in Batavia Ohio. Multicolor Corporation is a member of the Services sector “deliver[ing] the world’s best label solutions that help…customers build their brands” in the “Home & Personal Care, Food and Beverage, Wine and Spirit, and Specialty Market brand owners in North, Central and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Asia”.
As a global producer of “innovative decorating solutions to many of the world’s largest consumer goods companies”, Multicolor faces operational risks within the company’s control which could adversely affect the corporation’s business. These risk factors could result from breakdowns in internal procedures, people and systems. “Multicolor Corporation has grown through a series of mergers and acquisitions, and consequently, faced the challenges associated with managing [several] different plants running on disparate, and, in some cases, manual systems”. Although in 2004 the company implemented software to in a n effort “to standardize operations across all of its plants in order to maximize efficiencies and gain visibility across the entire production process” With that being said, Multicolor faces internal operational risks this software not being utilized correctly by employees which could cause a breakdown in the production and manufacture of labels.

As we computed the financial ratios for HH, we can see the effects from new stores openings and poor sales performance. First of all, return on asset (ROA) is a ratio used to measure how efficient a company generates profit using its assets, which is the invested capital. We noticed that HH’s ROA was increasing from 2006 to 2010. However, HH’s ROA for 2011 dropped dramatically from 18.41%(year 2010) to -1.57%. This shows that HH’s assets are not working efficiently enough to cover cost of assets. HH’ managers obviously failed to convert the money from investors into net income. This is not a good sign to the company because it means that the company is running to generate losses but not profits. Same pattern happens with HH’s return on capital(ROC) and return on equity(ROE). ...About a week ago after driving my Mini Cooper for a short distance the EML light in the car would come on and the car would hesitate. The car then would loose pressure dropping the speed from normal speed limit to no more than 5 – 10 mph. After parking the car, I noticed that the fan would come on and remain on for an extended period. When I lifted the hood of the car, I noticed that the coolant supply would be low. Replacing the coolant supply did not seem to fix the problem. I attempted to figure out the problem with an experiment. I drove the same speed around the block multiple times. The third or fourth time I noticed a difference. When I drove the car approximately a mile, the temperature gage would increase activating the EML. Then the car would hesitate, loose pressure, and decrease in mph. It seemed to be a direct correlation with an increase in temperature, the EML light coming on, losing pressure, and the decrease in mph. So to make sure there were not any confounding variables, I drove the car slowly to ensure speed was not a factor. Decreasing the speed did not change anything. I was able to make the same observation. I took the car to the auto repair shop. The repair person informed me that there was a leak in the coolant system.
