Euthanasia
Mister Speaker, I now move the bill be read a second time. The legislation of euthanasia is highly supported based on the rights, practical and philosophical arguments. Voluntary euthanasia is a respected form of death that should be a right to an individual if they have no quality or purpose to live. The new bill would eliminate the suffering of a distressful death, both physically and psychologically. The individual would pass with pride, dignity and would be remembered as the person they are, not who they once were. The patients that would receive the lethal injection would be on the verge of death by being diagnosed with incurable medical conditions. Mr Speaker, euthanasia is legal in countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Columbia and Albania and should now be legislated in Australia. …show more content…
If the act of euthanasia was legislated, those patients would have a choice whether they would want to keep living or have an easy passing. Euthanasia would support patients that simply cannot live anymore. Each person has a purpose or a quality to life, but patients that choose to be euthanised lost that quality. The injection would cut the physical and mental pain of the patient in need. Death is a human right of each individual therefore they have the right to choose how they would pass. Patients that are critically sick do not have enough energy to live out their life the way they would possibly like.
