What was the misunderstanding that occurred?
The misunderstanding occurred when Hector didn’t thin out the limbs. Instead, he cut back the branches on the target tree. In addition, he had cut back the limbs on a blossoming fruit tree resulting in a loss of fruit for that season. We both use English as a second language, and we also have heavy accents.
How could the misunderstanding have been avoided?
To prevent this misunderstanding, I should have spoken slowly to alleviate my accent. I should have also used sign language (nonverbal) to demonstrate what I wanted. In order for him to understand, I should have asked him to repeat what I have told him. Clarification and rephrase is important in the communication.

The misunderstanding occurred when I requested a day off from my boss. My boss verbally approved my requested date, and I sent an e-mail for confirmation. When my boss started sending out emails to me and anyone involved with my work, I noticed that the date was wrong.
How could the misunderstanding have been avoided?
To prevent this misunderstanding, I should have double checked my contents before sending the email. My boss should have asked to clarify the date before sending the emails to everyone involved. Communication is both ways – sending and receiving, and our main cause of misunderstanding was we were not attention
