The Corporate social responsibilities (CSR) is the one of the most hot issue in business. The goal of CSR is to embrace responsibility for the company's actions and encourage a positive impact through its activities on the environment, stakeholders and all other members of the public who may also be considered as stakeholders. This is right to Mitsubishi Corporation (MC)! CSR activities have contributed to the success of the Corporation in business. In order to have this achievement, MC focus on The Three Corporate Principles, which are the foundation of the vision and strategy for their commitment to corporate social responsibility: Corporate Responsibility to Society, Integrity and Fairness and Global Understanding Through Business. MC’s basic policy on CSR- related activities is: * Building partnership with NGOs: focus on specific communities, work on cultivating strong relationships with relevant NGOs in those particular areas. * The issue of human rights: putting the rights of employees first. * CRS to the company is a combination of regulation and voluntary action is essential, adopt a clear regulatory response and policy stance. * From a global perspective, MC should also be involved in businesses that help benefit the poorer inhabitants of the world's developing nations. MMC posted an operating income of 16.0 billion yen, a 7% or 1.1 billion yen increase over the same period last fiscal year. The increase was due mainly to favorable exchange rates as well as reductions in material and other costs which together overcame such negative factors as decreases in wholesale volume and increases in sales expenses including advertising costs. Along with the increased non-operating income from factors including foreign exchange gains MMC posted an ordinary income of 22.3 billion yen, a 57% or 8.1 billion yen increase year-on-year. The defendant was Mitsubishi, or mainly the managers at the Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America Inc. (MMMA) plant in Normal, Illinois. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sued Mitsubishi on behalf of the 350 female employees, current and former, who experienced sexual harassment working at the MMMA plant (Treece). The case at the MMMA plant in Normal, Illinois opened up doorways for women to speak up in other states such as Maryland, California, and Michigan (Harassment, Retaliation, Death Threats at Mitsubishi Motors).
