Comment on the effects of competition from Lexus and other brands on the search for information and decision making by consumers. 4. How do youthful consumers differ from older adults in terms of information search, personal influence, and auto product preferences? Role plays makes a huge statement in the formation of attitudes. Customers of who have been loyal buyers of Mercedes Benz expect to see consistency. When drastic changes are made it somehow puts Mercedes Benz in the light of luxury in the eyes of the consumer. With something as simple as wood paneling being removed from the normalcy the consumer starts to view differently. Luxury and quality are high standards of Mercedes Benz and these are the expectations of the consumer. Once again listening to your customer will always provide a better return in the long-term. Mercedes can avoid satisfaction with its consumers by including them in what they may want to see in there luxury cars or just state consistent to what customers are familiar with. ...Assignment #1 – Market Segmentation and Product Positioning Marketing Management MKT 500 Assignment #1 – Market Segmentation and Product Positioning The Product: Unique jewelry designs The jewelry I design is made from genuine stones, pearls and crystals. The plan is to make it into an e-business. I also do custom jewelry. Sometimes it is difficult to find exactly what you want and visiting store after store hoping to find what you want feels tiring. Sometimes you find what you want but it’s made of fake stone and cheap material and it does not match your style. Custom design takes a little time, but it's worth it to get exactly what you want. Famous-name designer items can be extremely expensive and are easily copied. The same jewelry which is from a famous name designer can look exactly the same as the counterfeit but the price could be less than one-tenth of the original price. Famous-name designer items are not unique. They are mass produced and are worn by so many women. It does not make me feel unique. I would rather wear something that creates queries like “Where did you get this from?”, ”Who is the designer?”, “how much does it cost?” Actresses or pop stars set the trend for women. But usually it’s the younger generation who wants to ware a brand-named jewelry. And they don’t mind so much if it’s a counterfeit or fake; as long as it looks like what the pop star wore. Nowadays the market is full of fake jewelry usually mass produced in China. ...

Sony holds a high standard of quality and technology leadership in the market. Sony is a Japanese corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and is amongst the top five most successful and largest to date. In 1945 Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita started Tokyo Engineering Telecommunications Corporation in a derelict bombed-out building. Sony was established with a capital of a few hundred yens. In 1958 Ibuka and Morita changed the name from Tokyo Engineering Telecommunications Corporation to Sony. It started by cogently articulating the organizations sole purpose for existence. Realizing the power and concept of a strategic vision ad mission both Ibuka and Morita set their site on the future. The thing that separates Sony from the rest is a statement...
