...HRPYC81 PROJECT 4809 Assignment 2 What motivates people to do volunteer work? MJ SCRIVEN TABLE OF CONTENTS LITERATURE REVIEW There are almost as many reasons for getting involved in volunteer work as there are volunteers. Once people get started, they find that their deepest rewards are ones they didn't expect when they first came looking for a volunteer assignment. Participants entered the volunteer world through ads in the paper, articles in the media and invitations by friends. They wanted to get involved in a new community, they overheard someone talking about a need or they just wanted to be active. Some wanted to repay a perceived debt to society and others took up volunteer work as part of a major reassessment of their lives and priorities. They came looking for a better balance in their lives, a learning experience, something to do with their time after retirement or something to add to their skills and their resumes. A good number had a stake in the organization where they were helping. This might be a friend or relative with a disability or a disease or the expectation that they themselves might someday need the service. “The idea that an individual would make significant personal sacrifices for another person, particularly when that person is a stranger, has long fascinated students of social behaviour” (Clary et al. 1998: 1516). “Volunteerism may be defined as contributing one's time or talents for charitable, educational, social, political...

Sonia did not comment and walked away as if she heard nothing. On the next day, Raymond and Sonia met at a place where all employees serve their lunches and Raymond said to her that, ‘'The last time I had a lady like you, she always turned me on like crazy and every time I came across her, we had to play sex." Sonia got embarrassed and told Raymond that she didn't enjoy being talked to in that manner, and she walked away. Again on this same day, Raymond found Sonia at her place of work and leaned on a wall behind her back looking her rear end. Raymond said, "Mmm, Mmm, mmmm!" as he watched helplessly at...

...Have you ever wondered where chocolate comes from? Well, it actually does grows on trees. ...A Place In This World don`t know what I want, so don`t ask me Cause I`m still trying to figure it out Don`t know what`s down this road, I`m just walking Trying to see through the rain coming down Even though I`m not the only one Who feels the way I do [Chorus:] I`m alone, on my own, and that`s all I know I`ll be strong, I`ll be wrong, oh but life goes on I`m just a girl, trying to find a place in This world Got the radio on, my old blue jeans And I`m wearing my heart on my sleeve Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine Could you tell me what more do I need And tomorrow`s just a mystery, oh yeah But that`s ok [Repeat Chorus] Maybe I`m just a girl on a mission But I`m ready to fly [Repeat Chorus] Back To December I'm so glad you made time to see me How's life? Tell me, how's your family? I haven't seen them in a while You've been good, busier than ever We small talk, work and the weather Your guard is up, and I know why Because the last time you saw me Is still burned in the back of your mind You gave me roses, and I left them there to die So this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you, saying I'm sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine I go back to December, turn around and make it alright I go back to December all the time These days, I haven't been sleeping Staying up, playing back...

...Roman Holiday PART 1 ROMAN HOLIDAY TRANSCRIBED BY Graham (hepburn@unforgettable.com) (A newsreel begins:) --PARAMOUNT NEWS-- NEWS FLASH (A commentator describes the newsreel showing Princess Ann at several ceremonies in various European locations.) NEWSREEL Paramount News brings you a special coverage of Princess Ann's visit to London, the first stop on her much publicised goodwill tour of European capitals. She gets a royal welcome from the British as thousands cheer the gracious young member of one of Europe's oldest ruling families. After three days of continuous activity and a visit to Buckingham Palace, Ann flew to Amsterdam where Her Royal Highness dedicated the new International Aid Building and christened an ocean liner. Then went to Paris where she attended many official functions designed to cement trade relations between her country and the Western European nations. And so to Rome, the eternal city, where the Princess' visit was marked by a spectacular military parade highlighted by the band of the crack Piersa Yeri Regiment. The smiling young Princess showed no sign of the strain of the week's continuous public appearances. And at her country's embassy that evening, a formal reception and ball in her honor was given by her country's ambassador to Italy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (The Embassy ballroom. People fill the floor of the room. A fanfare sounds. The Master of Ceremonies appears and the people...

...Fucking Kyle. (Mated to a King) #BK1 CHAPTER ONE: "Chuck!" I stormed into the tattoo parlor eager to have my tattoo completed. "Is that you Jessica?" Chuck yelled from behind the purple velvet curtains. I grinned and spun around. "The one and only! you ready to finish my tattoo sweetcheeks?" my gaze slide over to the boys. The football players, they lazed around on the sofa's all laughing and slapping the number one, most wanted guy in shcool. Andrew. But now they stared at me, shock evident on their faces. Jade and Harper looked shocked as well, jaws slightly aslack. The one man that held my attention was Kyle, his grey eyes glared into mine filled with something sinfully dark I found myself gulping, his lips curled into a cruel smile and he scoffed before looking away. "Gimme ten minutes sweetheart. I'll be out soon just buy some food. Its on me!" Yes. I was starving. "You are darling Chuck! I'd marry you if I could!" I yelled back already hopping towards the phone on the counter. I called my favourite Kebab House and ordered a donner kebab. "You want anything Chuck?" I was well aware of the boys staring at me, there eyes trailing over my low cut, off shoulder crop jumper to my camel skort and then to my lace stockings down to my heeled sandals. My tattoes peaked out of the hem of my skirt, and I pulled off my gloves revealing the trbial marks tattoed on my hands. "Get me whatever your getting!" he yelled, I could hear to low hum from the tattoo stick and...
