1. Report the sample you selected and the question that was explored in the study. * There is a correlation between x and y. The scatter chart shows that the more hours a student studies the higher their grade percentage will be.

2. Report the r2 linear correlation coefficient and the linear regression equation produced in the Excel spreadsheet. * The linear correlation coefficient is positive. * The r^2 linear correlation coefficient is 0.785 * The linear regression equation is y=1.5608x+55.767 3. What would be the value of Pearson’s r (simply the square root of r2)? * R^2 is 0.785, which means that 78.5% of the total variation in y can be explained by the relationship between x and y. The other 21.5% remains unexplained. 4. Would Pearson’s r be positive or negative? What does this imply about the relationship between the factors in this study? * Pearson’s r is positive and equal to 1.0. Since Pearson r is positive this implies that there is a strong correlation between x and y. 5. What is the implication of any correlation found between the variables in the study you picked? * X & Y have a strong positive correlation. It seems the more hours put into studying the better the grade percentages will be. 6. Does this correlation imply a causal relationship? Explain. * There is a casual relationship, because on the graph it shows positive correlation, because the slopes are increasing. That implies if you spend more time studying your results are a higher grade. 7. Are there other variables that you think should have been examined that would have improved this study or help to pinpoint what factors are causal? * The environment/ home setting (single family home, number of siblings) can affect an individual’s studying

As mentioned previously, these steps provide candidates with a systematic approach for addressing a case involving business-level strategic issues. Applying this approach effectively is one of the important competencies that candidates will learn in the CMA Canada Professional Programs. A major component of the situational analysis is to take a close look at the environments within which an organization finds itself. One of the methods commonly used in such an environmental analysis is “SWOT” (an acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), which considers the strengths and weaknesses in the internal environment as well as the opportunities and threats in the external environment. Candidates can refer to the required reading Situational Analysis Tools mentioned below for more information on how to go about doing a SWOT analysis. The next major step is to identify the issues and analyze various alternatives for addressing the major issues. In this case, a shortage of available cash is a major issue and needs to be addressed...

...In recent years, it has become an increasingly popular practice for drug companies to perform their clinical testing of new drugs in foreign countries that might not have the consumer protections or product liability laws present in the United States. Please answer each of the following questions using a theory studied in Module 2 specifically and thoroughly and using examples and facts from the readings and resources. 1. Are drug companies that test experimental drugs in foreign countries acting ethically? Drug companies that test experimental drugs in foreign countries are not acting ethically. Testing of experimental drugs should be done in the host country where the drugs are being manufactured. A major ethical dilemma that is being looked at with this is that the foreign countries that these clinical trials are happening in are not fully educated on the risks or fully understand what they are getting themselves into. After reading the articles many things stood out that these countries may not know what they are signing up for. Anil Netto quoted in the article titled “Health-Asia: Ethics in Outsourcing Drug Trials Questioned,” that by doing these clinical trials in foreign countries, drug companies are “exploiting the healthy who are strapped for cash and the sick who seek cheap or free remedies.” In regards to the utilitarian theory, testing drugs in foreign countries would prove to be unethical. Utilitarianism more specifically act utilitarianism tells us that...
