The Beginning
My mom put my sister Lindsey first before anything else, including their own comfort and happiness (sometimes). My sister played the mom role a lot when I was young because my mom was addicted to drugs. Her habit was pretty bad from what I remember. She did her best to take us, but then there were times we were in the house alone with no food and light. She would be gone for days at a time. I didn’t understand much at that time until I saw it with my own eyes. It’s a sight I will never forget. Seeing my mom get high. After that she made the decision to drop us off at my aunts said, “I will be right back and never came back.” Bad thing about this my aunt was on drugs too. At that time, we were going to see my dad every other weekend so that weekend we told him. Then he received custody and it tore my mom to pieces, which then I didn’t understand but now I do. But it wasn’t enough to kick her habit it only got worse from we heard from family members. She did manage to get remarried in that time. A better marriage that she and my dad because he used to beat on her as well as all the other boyfriends. This guy seemed an angle. Soon

Charecter Anaylsis

...In The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls, Liz is an exceptionally intelligent and independent child for someone her age, of only fifteen years old. Because of her extreme responsibility and compassion for those around her, she is a great role model for Bean, her little sister. Other than being a role model, Liz's main purpose is to serve as the maternal figure for Bean since their birth mother leaves for weeks at a time, and is not around to support them. Liz shows her role by always taking care of Bean when their mom decides to leave. To begin, Liz achieved her maternal role to Bean, by getting a job of her own, "Liz had been doing some babysitting, but after Mom had been gone a week, she decided to take on extra work, and I got a job delivering Grit, a newspaper with useful stories..." (Walls 15). Liz knows that if she is not independent and got a job then there was no way that her and Bean could survive without their mother. Also it was her idea to leave for Byler so that the bandersnatchers, which is the girls word for the police, would not be able to take them away to Child Protective Services. Liz always knew what to do in these kind of situations, as we are told by Bean, which makes Liz very dependable. Also, Liz is remarkably intelligent, which we know because she is always complimented by teachers, parents and other adults about how outstanding she is. But not only is Liz considered to be smart in school, or "book smart", she also knows how to deal with the...

...These research tools are best suited to my topic because they allow me to gather a range of results from various individuals who may or may not be involved in the dance world. By utilising these methodologies I will be able to gain a thorough understanding of the different perceptions of individuals throughout different areas of the dance industry. For my cross-cultural component I will analyse the popular American television show Dance Moms to observe how young dancers are sexualised and criticized in order to obtain the idea of a “perfect dancer” and how it has influenced society’s judgement of individuals in the dance industry. Furthermore, this will allow a deeper understanding of the stereotypes and truths of “dance culture” in America. Continuity and change will be reflected in my PIP through the investigation of how significant changes in our contemporary society are reflected in the dance styles, influences, and the “ideal” body image of current times. The One

...downs. I've been able to write papers but I've always needed a little bit of help to complete them. My mom has always been there when I am having problems writing papers. There have been times where I am amazing at them and knock them out like nothing. These are papers are usually short stories or something I can relate to. Then theres times where nothing comes to me and it seems like it takes forever to write them. When writing the papers one of the difficulties came from what I was writing about. In high school papers stressed me out because I knew I was going to have trouble with them. When I had to write my paper for chemistry, I worried about the length, how many citation, and how to cite it. I ask myself how does confidence impact my ability to write? On the one hand the papers I have the most confidence writing and I favor the most are ones where we have to tell a made up story or about a life event. I can write these very easily because I can remember the event very vividly or can make up a story with lots of detail. With event stories I usually just remember then write and occasionally go back to reread and fill some parts with more detail. In high school one of the first papers I had to write in my English class about a life event that changed your life. I thought to myself this is really easy to write about. I had an idea and there was no length on the paper so I didn't have to worry about how long it was. I was ready for this paper. I had confidence and I knew inside...

Loser Me Book Report

...wrote back in those days, all editors almost all newspapers. It encouraged me greatly. I never needed any sort of entertainment or had a need to be entertained. It never occurred to me, to show any one what I wrote. I just wrote what I felt sealed them in an envelop, put on my one rupee stamp and handed it over to my mom. And my mom diligently would mail all my letters along with other house hold mail. I wrote whatever occurred to me, even giving suggestions to favourite chocolate and biscuit manufacturer’s Parry’s, Cadburys and Parley. I would enclose them wrappers I had collected and write to them what I liked or did not like. I received many gifts from them all stickers, books, comics once even a wrist watch. I understood at the ripe old age of 6 or 7 that giving my opinions good or bad resulted in rewards as well as recognition. This all happened because I was such a loser! And was made to stay put at home because I was a girl. But what I did with that time made me who I am today. Right from my childhood I had this great admiration towards the written word and devotion towards intelligent bright people around me. Especially because I was surrounded by them.
