Although pregnancy brings with it a variety of body changes, becoming a mother is probably one of the most rewarding life experiences a woman can have. The changes a woman’s body undergoes during pregnancy and her ability to regain her pre-pregnancy shape depends greatly on genetics. However, women who have not been blessed with the ability to bounce back on their own now have another option, a Mommy Makeover with Dr. Sam Gershenbaum, who is an award-winning, board certified, plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Miami, FL.

Each Patient is Unique

A Mommy Makeover consists of a set of procedures specifically tailored to meet the needs of the patient. Dr. Gershenbaum and his staff know that each patient is unique; therefore, not every patient …show more content…
Dr. Gershenbaum can address stretched, sagging, deflated-looking breasts as part of a Mommy Makeover with a breast augmentation and/or a Mastopexy.

How Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Affect the Breasts

As the breasts prepare to produce milk, the glandular component of the breasts enlarge. Furthermore, the fat storage and weight gain caused by the hormonal changes a woman experiences during pregnancy can also increase the size of the breasts substantially.

Reduced Breast Size Following Pregnancy/Breastfeeding is Not Uncommon

Once a mother is no longer lactating and the pregnancy hormones have subsided, the volume of her breasts revert back to their pre-pregnancy size. Some women notice that their breasts do not return to their original pre-pregnancy size, but instead, shrink. Now, the skin is stretched and the breasts themselves are smaller.

Overstretched Skin Affects the Appearance of the Breasts

Regrettably, on many occasions, the skin on the breasts remains stretched because it is unable to return to its original pre-pregnancy state. This overstretched skin typically causes the breasts to sag: Furthermore, it causes the breast mound to lie lower on the chest, which makes the upper portion of the breast appear …show more content…
Gershenbaum may recommend that the patient include a breast augmentation in her Mommy Makeover plan. Once the breast implant is placed, the patient’s breast will have a fuller, more appealing shape.

A Breast Augmentation – The Procedure

1. Anesthesia

Patients receive medication to ensure they remain comfortable throughout their breast augmentation procedure. Prior to surgery, medications are administered by an anesthesiologist. Medication options include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.

2. Creating the Incision

Incision locations vary depending on the degree of enlargement the patient desires, the type of breast implant she chooses and whether she would like the implant placed above or below the pectoral muscle.

Breast Augmentation Options in Miami

Breast implant options include:

Silicone, saline or gummy bear implants Textured or smooth implants Round or teardrop shaped implants

Breast implant placement:

Barbie in American Pop Culture

...the 2010s. If you were shopping in any other decade since the late 1950s, you would see Barbie dolls with different costumes and careers. Since its inception in 1959, by creator Ruth Handler, the Barbie doll has taken on more than 100 different career paths and has become the most successful doll ever produced. This iconic and often controversial doll has had a great deal of influence on every decade since the late 1950s. From its very inception, Barbie was an innovative fashion doll, whose desirability and influence among girls quickly skyrocketed. It was the first ever adult-bodied doll, equipped with breasts, long legs, and a small waist. Previously, the only dolls for girls were baby or infant dolls that allowed little girls to play mommy. But with Barbie, little girls were soon able to imagine being much more than just mothers or wives, and could play as any career they wanted. The Barbie doll was not simply a fashionable toy, but a role model for individuality and freedom of choice for all females. It broke through gender barriers by teaching girls they could be anything they dreamed. However, the doll received a great deal of outrage and criticism throughout the decades as well. In its early years, people criticized the toy for being too sexual and lascivious. On the one hand, this reaction was understandable because...

...Chapter 1 Case Study: Harmonix Embrace Your Inner Rock Star Little more than three years ago, you had probably never heard of Harmonix. In 2005, the video game design studio released Guitar Hero, which subsequently became the fastest video game in history to top $1 billion in North American sales. The game concept focuses around a plastic guitar-shaped controller. Players press colored buttons along the guitar neck to match a series of dots that scroll down the TV in time with music from a famous rock tune, such as the Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated” and Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.” Players score points based on their accuracy. In November 2007, Harmonix released Rock Band, adding drums, vocals, and bass guitar options to the game. Rock Band has sold over 3.5 million units with a $169 price tag (most video games retail at $50 to $60). In 2006, Harmonix’s founders sold the company to Viacom for $175 million, maintaining their operational autonomy while providing them greater budgets for product development and licensing music for their games. Harmonix’s success, however, did not come overnight. The company was originally founded by Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy in 1995, focused around some demo software they had created in grad school and a company vision of providing a way for people without much musical training or talent to experience the joy of playing and creating music. Starbucks

...STARBUCKS By Patricia L. Boyd BA 2430 International Management Professor Jeff Walls January 30, 2011 Summary Three Seattle entrepreneurs started the Starbucks Corporation in 1971. Their prime product was the selling of whole bean coffee in one Seattle store. By 1982, this business had grown tremendously into five stores selling the coffee beans, a roasting facility, and a wholesale business for local restaurants. Howard Schultz, a marketer, was recruited to be the manager of retail and marketing. He brought new ideas to the owners, but was turned down. Schultz in turn opened his own coffee bar in 1986 based on Italian coffee cafes, selling brewed Starbucks coffee. By 1987, Schultz had expanded to three coffee bars and bought Starbucks from the original owners for $4 million. He changed the name of his coffee bars from Il Giornale to Starbucks. His intention for the company was to grow slowly with a very solid foundation. He wanted to create a top-notch management by wooing top executives from other well-known corporations. For the first two years, Starbucks losses doubled as overhead and operating expenses increased with Starbucks' expansion. Schultz stood his ground and did not sacrifice long term integrity and values for short-term profit. By 1991, Starbucks' sale increased by 84% and the company was out of debt. Starbucks brought back founder Schultz to lead daily operations in 2008, closed hundreds of stores and cut jobs. It reemphasized training for...

Hundred in One

I'm just the girl next door. Well, hindi naman yung literal na meaning. Typical girl kumbaga. Yung mamemeet mo sa pangarawaraw. In short, average lang. Sometimes above or below. 4th year high school na nga pala ako. Bagong school. I have two brothers.

Manager

...Learning with Cases INTRODUCTION The case study method of teaching used in management education is quite different from most of the methods of teaching used at the school and undergraduate course levels. Unlike traditional lecture-based teaching where student participation in the classroom is minimal, the case method is an active learning method, which requires participation and involvement from the student in the classroom. For students who have been exposed only to the traditional teaching methods, this calls for a major change in their approach to learning. This introduction is intended to provide students with some basic information about the case method, and guidelines about what they must do to gain the maximum benefit from the method. We begin by taking a brief look at what case studies are, and how they are used in the classroom. Then we discuss what the student needs to do to prepare for a class, and what she can expect during the case discussion. We also explain how student performance is evaluated in a case study based course. Finally, we describe the benefits a student of management can expect to gain through the use of the case method. WHAT IS A CASE STUDY? There is no universally accepted definition for a case study, and the case method means different things to different people. Consequently, all case studies are not structured similarly, and variations abound in terms of style, structure and approach. Case material ranges from small caselets (a few paragraphs...
