In January 17, 1981 the most notorious rock band from, but little did they know how much fame would change their life. How does the fame effect their addictive lifestyles, gender bending roles, and staying together as a band for thirty-four years. First of all, Motley Crue played hard and partied harder. They based their life on fast women, fast cars, alcohol, and drugs. Alcohol played a big role in Vince Neil’s life. Vince was charged with vehicular manslaughter after killing his best friend Razzle. They were both had been drinking and they were on their way to the store to buy more alcohol . Vince was speeding when he wrecked his car and the wreck instantly killed Razzle. Nikki Sixx was addicted to heroine and alcohol. The heroine addiction was so bad that Nikki has overdose twice. The Alcohol addiction was had gotten so bad that Nikki and tommy would sit down together and shoot up Jack Daniels from syringes straight into their veins. Poor Mick Mars suffered from ankylosing spondylitis, which led him to being addicted to his prescription pain reliever. Mick was hallucinating from these drugs. As for Tommy Lee well he was addicted to alcohol and cocaine. Tommy’s drug addiction wasn’t like his alcohol addiction. Tommy and Nikki would sit in their dressing rooms backstage and get high on cocaine or heroine and would be drinking at the same time. Vince, Nikki, Mick, and Tommy have been through rehab. Nikki has been a fewer times than his fellow band mates because of his addictive personality . Another effect was gender being in the 1980s. Hair meal bands were wearing leather, boots, and makeup. They would have long hair and big hair. Also there was questions on their sexuality. Motley Crue had the look down from the leather and lace to the makeup and high heels. The deal with the sexuality was that the gay community would wear the leather and chains. The whole band wore high heels. Nikki was known to wear red thigh high heels. Also to get the big hairs was done by using the whole can of hair spray. Lastly is, surving thirty-fours together as a band and that is rare for a 1980s band. Motley Crue survived the 1990s which is where most of the 1980s bands didn’t. During these thirty-four years Motley Crue has had two other singers beside Vince Neils. During this time Vince was going to a hard time and has slip back to drinking really bad after his only daughter died. Also Motley Crue is the first rock band to hold a residence at a hotel in Las Vegas. They have also held their own festival named Cruefest. In the beginning of 2014 they announced that were retiring as band. They also had side projects that they will be working on after the retire. Their last show will be played December 31, 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angles. “ We were established in 1981, jan. 17th, to be exact. Some say it was the beinning of the end, I tend to agree- the end of bands looking, smelling and on fact stinking all the same. Nkikki Sixx” Now you know Motley it through the addictive lifestyles, being acused of gender bending, and surving as a band for thirty-four years. Unfortunately on December 31, 2015 there will be no more Motley Crue.
