...The Hegemony of the Moroccan Monarchy Morocco is a peculiar country in many ways. Its location on the far west of North Africa as well as the context of its neighboring countries has made it quite the exception in the area. Morocco is run by a monarchy and through its political apparatus gives an important deal of power to the king. Recently, the whole middle eastern and North African scene have been the subject of turmoil as many of the countries in the area have managed to change through the actions of its population to overthrow the corrupted powers in place. In the case of Morocco, a counter regime movement appeared as well, but was lacking the radical ambitions of the neighboring countries populations. The movement known as 20th February was more for reform in the system while keeping the same structure. According to Molina, “This coincidence of official celebrations and mass mobilization against the regime – both employing the discourse of democratization – illustrates the duality of the political process in which Morocco has been immersed since the beginning of the so-called Arab Spring. On the one hand, the new and unforeseen regional dynamic has acted as a catalyst for a cycle of unprecedented protests in the country, breaking new ground in terms of demands and spreading across the kingdom. This paper identified six key strategies necessary for firms to be successful when expanding globally. These strategies include differentiation, marketing, distribution, collaborative strategies, labor and management strategies, and diversification. Within this analysis, we chose to focus on the Coca-Cola Company because they have proven successful in their international operations and are one of the most recognized brands in the world. We performed an in-depth review of how effectively or ineffectively Coca-Cola has used each of the six strategies. The paper focused on Coca-Cola's operations in the United States, China, Belarus, Peru, and Morocco. The author used electronic journals from the various countries to determine how effective Coca-Cola was in these countries. The paper revealed that Coca-Cola was very successful in implementing strategies regardless of the country. However, the author learned that CocaCola did not effectively utilize all of the strategies in each country. ...URL: http://dx.doi.org/10.5539/res.v4n3p18 Abstract Europe’s relation with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is discussed in the context of normative (International Society) and materialist approaches (World System’s Theory). First, European imperialism’s export of a flawed Westphalian state system is summarized. How Europe is “caught” between MENA and the US and co-opted into a division of labour toward the region is then surveyed. The gap between the normative rhetoric and actual inequitable outcomes and structures constructed under the Euro-Mediterranean partnership is examined, looking at the three “baskets” of economic developmental, political reform and cultural convergence. Four “hard cases,” EU policies toward Palestine, Iran, Syria and Turkey, illustrate the ambiguities of the EU’s approach to MENA. MENA public opinion’s ambivalence toward Europe reflects these realities. The conclusion is that the EU’sMENA policy is caught between the rhetoric of post-colonialism and practices of neo-colonialism. The trial court chamber of three judges, two men and one woman, had an unprecedented opportunity to clarify whether rape during internal armed conflict constitutes genocide as well as a crime against humanity. Nongovernmental organizations worked to "engender" the Tribunal while holding accountable the Hutu leaders who orchestrated genocide.
