TITLE: CASE STUDY- GREAT LAKE :GREAT DECISION
COURSE: BUS 499

Social /Demographic Segments: Since Great Lake is a company that is located in places , has to employ people, of different ages, diversity, and wage distribution , it has to be careful in making decision and dealing with the people because how this people use the product it an effect on the safety and health . Great lake has to take into consideration the place that the company is located, because the countries that are underdeveloped are the one using their product, TEL. Great Lake can be affected by the population using the product or where they produce the product.
The Economic Segment: Great Lake has siege operation and that will affect its revenue. The reason of stopping operation is that the health hazard the product posed to the population, worker. So when considering safety issues, its income or profit will be decrease since production has to be decreased or stopped. The nation that still use leaded gasoline will be affected too if it has no resources to produce unleaded gasoline.
Political/Legal/Government Segment: Laws or regulations in place by authority or environmentalists will go after Great Lake to stop producing TEL that has health hazard or safety effect on the population or people. Politician or the press will use this situation to hammer this company, Great Lake. Therefore, Great Lake will have no alternative but to reduce production or stop production completely.
Technological Segment: Great lake has to develop or use modern technology to be able to produce unleaded gasoline. If Great Lake could not afford the cost or the country is least developed and do not have the resources to purchase new technology then, it can be affected of not having to produce the unleaded gasoline.
Environmental/geographic
Great Lake Tel or leaded production has more effect on the environment therefore; environmentalist will take legal battle against the operation of Great Lake. Great Lake will have to comply with the laws to save the environment or stop the production of leaded gasoline. The location of Great lake operation has effect on its production, revenue, that means wheresoever’s they operate it has to improve its product or avoid producing leaded product because environmentalist will hunt them to do the right thing. Great Lake will not be generate enough revenue because what they produce poses health hazard or safely threat therefore, environmentalists, politician will go against them to change their product. So the end result will be that they will have to seize operation or produce leaded gasoline that will affect their profit margin.
Threat of Entry: company entering will be producing unleaded product so Great Lake may have to use new technology to produce unleaded gasoline.
Power Supplier: Great Lake is the only supplier or product, Tel in the least Develop countries.
Power of Buyer: Buyer in the least Develop countries do not have power because they do not have resources to produce unleaded gasoline so they buy any product from Great Lake.
Threat of Substitute: leaded gasoline has to be replace by leaded. So anyone that has to supply leaded gasoline in the least Develop countries then Great Lake will suffer economically.
Rivalry among Existing Competitors: Great Lake is the only one to sell leaded gasoline in the Least Develop Countries and no competitors.
