Revising is looking for ways to make the ideas that this essay is built from clearer, stronger, and more convincing. When revising, always keep in mind that he/she may have to add, cut, move, or change whole sentences or paragraphs. When writing something like, “The Dark Knight was the most popular film of 2008,” there needs to be some kind of fact that backs this statement up. The awards that the film was nominated for or won can be mentioned to help give this comment some weight behind it would be appropriate. If it were me writing this essay on the Black Knight, I would want the world to know how good the story line is. Rearranging the order of the paragraphs would be appropriate, it is my opinion that the writer jumped ahead of himself/herself. I find that the information is a little scattered. Paragraph #2 and #3 needs to change places. The information in paragraph three is a continuation of the first paragraph. It is the parent’s responsibility to monitor their children on what games they play and for how long they play the games. Numerous surveys have been taken that show games can enhance certain learning abilities and not cause violence. Violent video games are meant for adults and banning these games takes away the right of freedom of expression from the adult. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) provides concise and impartial information about the content in computer and video games so parents can make a clear informed purchase. (www.esrb.org/ratings) ESRB provides ratings for each game that is distributed. These ratings have two equal parts: Rating symbols and content descriptors. Rating symbols on the front of the package provide age limits on who should be allowed to play the game. Age appropriateness is clearly marked and those younger than that should be monitored. The rating system used is the same system that TV shows and movies use to rate their content. Content descriptors which are located on the back of the package indicate elements in a game. There are some romantic aspects to these type of cinema. Even if a couple does have a tragic end, there is always some sort of romance in the middle. It could be lust or love, but it is usually there. While all Film Noir never ends as fairy tale, an audience can look at most of the films and see how love, or lust, can drive people to do despicable acts of crime. Before describing how romance and the many varying types of love appear in Film Noir, it is important to understand the different gender roles each character plays. The male protagonist paired with a femme fatale is the usual leading roles in a Film Noir, but that isn’t a hard set rule. Men can play the male victim, damaged men, a private eye, a psychopath, or a homme fatal, (Spicer 85). Women can also play a variety of roles such as the nurturer, the good-bad girl, the female victim, or a femme fatale, (Spicer 90). Male victims can be a protagonist who just gets trapped in the web of lies weaved by a beautiful woman, a femme fatale. The damaged man is usually a veteran who has a hard time adjusting to society after war or a police officer who loses control.
