Charlie Bartlett

Summary of the movie:
The movie is about a 17 year old boy, Charlie Bartlett. Being a son of a wealthy but depressed mother, and a father who is in jail for tax evasion, and Charlie seems not to be able to forgive him. Charlie is a walking problem for himself. He has been thrown out from several private schools because of his behaviour, and his obsession with becoming popular. After being kicked out of his last private school, Charlie’ mum send him to the public high school, Western Summit High. The public high school is run by Nathan Gardner.
Charlie Bartlett starts failing miserably at fitting in a public high school and his obsession with getting popular starts all over again. Too become popular he makes peace with his bully, Murphy Bivens by going into a different kind of business with him. He starts listening to kids' problems at his high school and he starts selling them prescription drugs, which he gets from his different psychiatrists.
As Charlie begins to understand the social hierarchy of a public high school, he becomes a self-appointed psychiatrist to the student body of his high school. He becomes majorly popular among the students in his high school. Is this really how he wanted to become popular? No, because along the way he decides to take some of his own good advice, find romance, and learn to accept who he is. He finds the real Charlie Bartlett.
Movie review of Charlie Bartlett:
Charlie Bartlett is a 2007 American comedy-drama film directed by Jon Poll. The screenplay is written by Gustin Nash.
The movie finds place in an American high school. The movie shows us a society where people seem to hide their problems and needs, and changes them for being accepted by the popular part of this so called perfect society, where you need to be perfect to fit in.
The movie contains all the problems in a teenager’s life. It shows us the pressure there is on a teenage high school student, but also the adults in this society. Some of the obvious examples are Charlie, Susan and Nathan.
We see Charlie’ (Anton Yelchin) obsession with becoming popular, and being liked which is something every young person can recognise. We see this young man who wants nothing but acceptance and popularity to learn that life is much more than just that. He learns to accept himself, and be who he is. We also see his battle with his mother and father. Where his father is in jail, Charlie seems to not being capable of forgiving him. His mother is too overwhelming and we see throughout the whole movie, how this young man fights for himself and his mother.
On the other hand we have Susan Gardner (Kat Dennings) who seems to be living a life no one would like to live, but many would easily be able to recognise it. She has lost her mother, and her father is in deep depression even though he does not believe that. We follow her throughout her battle with herself and her father, Nathan Gardner (Robert Downey Jr.). Where Charlie wants to be accepted by everyone, Susan only thinks about her father. She wants him to accept her, be with her and love her.
Nathan Gardner who is played by Robert Downey Jr. is the father of Susan, and the principle of the high school where most of the story finds place. Mr Gardner is a disenchanted man, who seems to believe that everything is okay, where the truth is that everything is falling apart; his family, his high school and his life.
Overall the movie is about the different difficulties in life. It does not matter if you are a teenager or an adult, there will always be some problems where you need someone to relay on. You do not need to change yourself to please others. There are bigger and more important things in life than just being liked or being popular. Think of yourself, of your family. Just be yourself. Accept who YOU are.

Generally, those journalists do a competent job of reporting on the prospect’s record. In the case of Governor George W. Bush, Texas reporters had written numerous stories about his failed businesses in the oil patch, the dubious land grab and questionable funding behind a new stadium for Bush’s baseball team, the Texas Rangers, and his various political contradictions and hypocrisies while serving in Austin. Manager

...Learning with Cases INTRODUCTION The case study method of teaching used in management education is quite different from most of the methods of teaching used at the school and undergraduate course levels. Unlike traditional lecture-based teaching where student participation in the classroom is minimal, the case method is an active learning method, which requires participation and involvement from the student in the classroom. For students who have been exposed only to the traditional teaching methods, this calls for a major change in their approach to learning. This introduction is intended to provide students with some basic information about the case method, and guidelines about what they must do to gain the maximum benefit from the method. We begin by taking a brief look at what case studies are, and how they are used in the classroom. Then we discuss what the student needs to do to prepare for a class, and what she can expect during the case discussion. We also explain how student performance is evaluated in a case study based course. Finally, we describe the benefits a student of management can expect to gain through the use of the case method. WHAT IS A CASE STUDY? There is no universally accepted definition for a case study, and the case method means different things to different people. Consequently, all case studies are not structured similarly, and variations abound in terms of style, structure and approach. Case material ranges from small caselets (a few paragraphs...
