Subject: 2015 MS of Canada Bicycle Fund Raising Project

The planning process for the upcoming MS bicycle tour, scheduled for August 22-23rd, has been hit with an unexpected delay. With four weeks left until the event, on-going road construction will not be completed beforehand. Despite the setback, the MS Society intends to keep this event as scheduled and change current project plans to what is necessary in order to keep the event on time, while finding a safe, paved road. The MS bicycle tour is an event centered on promoting awareness, providing educational services and medical research support. At this time, we have 549 registered riders. With our $260,000 donations raised from the previous London-Grand Bend Bicycle Tour (net profit is $143,000) and overall registration fees currently at $109,800 ($200/per rider), our current net profit stands at $252,800.

Based on our project management process, including holidays and forecast activity durations, our current finish date is September 10th, 2015. Assuming that all activities must be completed by Friday, August 21st, 2015, we are 20 days over schedule.

We will need to reduce the project duration in order to hold our MS Bicycle Tour event on the planned date. Some activities that we could focus on are: C, E, F, G, and P. Of these activities, C and P are prime candidates for potential duration reduction - both have a considerable amount of slack time, 17 days combined (including weekends). I also mentioned tasks E, F, and G. If we could have all three tasks run simultaneously, then we could finish our project on August 13th, 2015 – 8 days before our August 21st, 2015 deadline.

In my opinion, I believe that the total bicycle Ride project schedule did not represent a reliable plan. Although we double-checked revised route construction
