Monday was the first lesson on MDP, I had the opportunity to finally meet all the group members and we had a brief introduction on the project that we are doing. And our project is called Rover; we learned that in the course of one week we will have to build a vehicle which will have to travel around a route undertaking different challenges.
Straight after the 15 minutes briefing by the project teachers, we had to go and start working on it, we were given the Lego 9797 to build a vehicle from it, so I as soon as we got into the library had to bring my laptop and check what kind of ideas that people have done in the past and I also downloaded the mindstorms 2.0 because we had to start work on the motion or the route that our rover should have to take, so I left Simon in charge of programming the motion.
Whilst Simon was on the laptop me and the rest of the team sat down and started working on building the robot but I soon realised that we lacked originality simply because the we were most of the time looking at the manual book, so one of my team mates suggested that we should start from zero, so we started working on it and around about 4:00 PM, we called it a day.
Nevertheless we did manage to pen some ideas down on paper and by the end of the day Simon managed to program some motion, we tried it and then we agreed to meet up the next day at 11am. I did not make it in time due the fact that I had to go town in the morning but my team were able to contact me and told me about the progressed that they had made, we when I met them it was as if I was there all that time. And my team told me that we had to construct a bridge so we sat by the down in Michael Sterling building and started talking about various ideas then I realised that we had to think of something that has not been made yet, so I started using Autocad to bring some of the ideas to life.
