Michael Brown was an unarmed black teenager who was shot and killed by the police in Ferguson. I feel that the unarmed 18 year old has become a powerful symbol of the lack of trust between African Americans and the law enforcement, not only in Ferguson, but in the rest of the country. I doubt that the officer drew his weapon or fired it for no reason. When the officer shot he might have been defending himself. After research, reports say that Brown was shot in the front of his body, so he could have probably been running away. I think that if the officer wanted to kill him after a couple shots I’m sure he would have shot on the chest or head. Also, if Brown did steal from the store, I believe that shooting was excessive force. He was unarmed and should have been hit or tazed at the most. If the officer couldn’t handle an 18 year old without pulling out a gun and shooting him, then he clearly isn’t fit to be a police officer. Overall, since Michael Brown was shot and killed by a Ferguson officer, the police should not have given a reason for the shooting, since witnesses say Brown was unarmed and his hands were in the air and was shot multiple times, therefore I don’t believe it is justifiable. In my opinion, the media affected the situation in a positive note because it might have opened the eyes of other police officers that might have to deal with a situation similar to this in the
