Murphy, a nearly 5 year old male, unneutured English Springer Spaniel has been obsessively licking his front legs since he was a pup.
His owner is concerned with his repeated licking of his front legs. She says that along with having access to her and/or her boyfriend, Murphy has feline companions at home and is technically never alone. There are toys for him to play with to keep him occupied. His pattern of self-licking occurs after eating and also before sleep. There is no information as to whether he licks his front legs obsessively when he is alone with his feline friends.
He hunts neighbours' cats when they come into his yard. He hunts his 'ballies' (toys) as well but has not been trained in traditional hunting and has not participated
