`WHAT MAKES A GREAT SPORT LEADER? Page 1
GENUINE EFFECTIVE SPORT LEADERS OR JUST LAZY, INEXPERIENCE SCUMS!
The good Sports leaders must have four essential Qualities in order to be effective in what they do, if a Sport Leader does not have these skills, this automatically means they are FAKE shams of an effective sports leader. Having only some of these skill qualities result in ineffective Sport Leaders, who are too lazy to acknowledge these advance skills to succeed. Sports leaders who don’t have these skills should not have honour to have LEADER in their profession. The First quality that is vital in being effective in sports leadership is the Knowledge of Sports Skills, so in this case meaning the Sports Leader must have a good knowledge of the participant’s skill development, technical ability and technical demands in order to carry out the session correctly and successful. This will thus help the sports leader make a decision on what specific, simple skill is require to help the participant succeed in the activity and enjoy it at the same time. This will then make the sessions fun and not too difficult.
Moreover, these factors are very important to know. For example, one of my close friends was a former sports leader, and I came along to one of his session to watch him performs in his sports leadership sessions; he did a football session with the kids. I watched the session and he turned a difficult football session into a fun one for the children, as one of the first issue was that group of amateur footballers didn’t have the right technique to fully volley a football on target towards the goal, this is considering that the goal was a few metres away from them, so that the kids didn’t find it to challenging. Since some of the kids didn’t know how to kick the ball properly. They struggled to perform to a good standard and this will result in the participant becoming feeling stresses and frustrated at themselves, therefore resulting in an unenjoyably, difficult session. But luckily, my friend employed a simple skill development session for some of the less technical kids in the activities, where there’s three people, one will throw the football to the Partners foot, so that he/she can volley the ball into the hoop (the third person will hold the hoop in the air), using their lace of the shoe to fully volley the ball into the hoop. After doing this each group of 3 will change places so everyone has a go. This will thus help in the improvement their sport skills and still acknowledge their sporting ability at the same time. My friend having the knowledge of people varying sports skills helped him excel in carrying out his session in an effective, successful format.

Also, employing the laws of the specific sport teaches children obedience and this skill is vital in order to carry out an event as sport leader, each child or adult must be obedient and keen to listen to the sports leader, so in a way the body language determines whether the children will listen and obey the rules or not. Like if Howard Webb (Premier league Referee), didn’t know the rules and regulation of football, then the game pro footballers will take advantage of that issue and create rules that help the win matches and that will result to unfair and disorganised match. First of all unlike my secondary school PE teacher, my college PE teacher didn’t care if you were as fast or athlete as Usain Bolt or ha the worst attitude in the world, he would still treat them equally and also when it came making judgements I concluded that when my college PE teacher makes fair and wiser observation for a situation and this thus creates equality and this is one of the key reasons why my college PE teacher is more successful than my secondary school PE teacher.
This kind of separation made every session in school not fun and just bring even for the elite athletes as some of their friends were in the mixed group. Everyone felt as if the PE teacher come across to aggressive and mean to people who don’t like and show a lot of favouritism towards the elite athletes and this led to a one sided, boring session and this then resulted in everyone and even the athletes mucking about and not even taking the fun session seriously anymore because half of the everyone were not treated the same. However, my PE teacher was able to handle [12] “conflict within a group” and when people did argue with him, he would try to change the subject and make them focus on the lesson, fortunately he says the same things to everyone, so that everyone can be treated equally, but as I’ve told u before this was not always the case, as equality was only used some time in our sessions, so my PE teacher did share some good points, but needs a lot of improvement to be a successful sports leader like, my college PE Teacher, who has attained a lot of success and I’ve had the privilege to experience him at work as a sport leader. This is a huge achievement, that couldn’t have been done without behaving like a guardian toward his players. However, he lacks what Alex Ferguson has, which is experience, as Alex Ferguson has won more trophies than Brendon Rodgers and Alex has the experience to back that up and also Alex has more experience in the pro game, as he has played in the pro game longer than Brendon Rodgers, so that is also a big bonus.In Cohesion, Social Loafing and The Ringelmann effect are important psychological points to take in as a sports leader, as this involves Participants not putting in as much effort, as they should. And this sort of behaviour is must be recognise in a group, as participants may have lack of motivation, no real purpose and their performance will dropped down.
