Differences and Contrast Between Waller and Parker’s Work Love and passion are some of the subjects that have been beyond our comprehension since the first couple fell in love a thousand years ago. Many people have been written about those topics giving us different kinds of view. Some of them through songs, others through music and many of them by poetry. Such as the case of Dorothy Parker and Edmund Waller that were two of the most recognized poets in the last 10 centuries. Both of them dedicated their life to write poems that people still analyze these days because of the brilliance of their meaningful writing. On one hand, one of the most remarkable works of Parker was the poem called “One Perfect Rose.” Such poem is an example of the situation when someone receive a give that is socially nice, yet it was actually the gift that person desire. On other hand, Waller is known by everyone for this poem called “One Perfect Rose.” Through that poem Waller described a man who is in love with a woman, but she does to even know the existence of that guy. Both poems are perfect in the way that they were wrote. It is a fact that both of them have many differences because of the topic that they talked about. However, they actually have some similarities such as the meaning of the rose that in both poem intensify the topic which is love.

Men And Women are different in many forms. The way that each gender perceives the life is interesting because one perception is weight different from the other one. This characteristic is what is makes the human being unique. Nevertheless, in the poems “Go lovely Rose” wrote by Edmund Waller and “One Perfect Rose” wrote by Dorothy Parker, despite of the fact that the authors of both works are from different genders, the topic is the same. Muslim Women

...DIANA ZUNIGA APRIL 14TH 2009 PRINCIPLES OF ETHICS RESEARCH PAPER MR. PHLEPS In the Muslim religion women are often covering up to show modesty. But it is not a requirement some Muslims reveal. Here is a passage from the Quran: "Say to the believing man that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them; and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments ..." (Qur'an 24:30-31) Many Muslims argue that it is mandatory that all women cover up. But others disagree. Many claim that it is a choice and that they have the freedom to choose to cover up or not. The incident earlier this week has this issue in question. A woman in Orland Park was arrested for gruesome charges. She beat her 2 year old niece over the course of 4 days. Resulting in...

Muslim Stereotypes

...Stereotypes about the Islamic faith and Muslim culture in the United States range from the idea that Muslims do not value education, to the even more offensive notion that they are all violent terrorists. Despite the idea that college campuses are viewed as more enlightened and progressive settings, misconceptions about Muslims continue to abound in these environments. Mercer University is no exception. The Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Mercer University, a university with a strong Christian heritage, is one of the less popular undergraduate organizations on campus and includes only thirty students. In an attempt to demystify the the behaviors, beliefs, and practices of Muslims in the United States, I conducted an ethnography that studies...

Stereotyping of Muslims

...EAST IS EAST, MY JOURNEY MY ISLAM, MUSLIM COOL, DEBATING THE VEIL RESPONSE PAPER Islam Despite its huge following around the world and the growing Muslim communities in western countries, Islam is foreign to most westerners who are familiar with Christianity or Judaism. Because most Americans know little or nothing about Islam, they have many misconceptions about Muslim beliefs and rituals. These misconceptions are formed by the media and the lack of research most people do on Islam. There have been many movies and documentaries made to show people the life of a Muslim person and to show people what Islam really is; East is East, My Journey My Islam, Debating the Veil, and Muslim Cool are examples of movies portraying Muslims in a different light. These movies although very different from each other in the way they are portrayed all are out to achieve the same goal, which is to show misinformed people what Islam really is. East is East is a movie about a Pakistani immigrant in the UK by the name of George khan who tries to push his family to abide by his strict Pakistani Muslim ideals. Having an English mother and being born and raised in England, his children see themselves as being English and disobey their father’s rules on how they dress, the foods they eat, religion, and other aspects of life. East is East, portrays Muslim Isolationism, patriarchal authoritarianism, white English racism, and teenage rebellion. The film perfectly explores connections between comic modes...

Muslims Pros And Cons

...learn how many of you are blatantly Islamophobic. And yeah I realize this post is pretty shady. If I had a problem I could just unfriend those people, right? But this isn’t just a political issue; it’s a human issue. Because Muslims are not some obscure shady mass that exists only in our fears they are PEOPLE. And acting like all Muslim people are part of a terrorist group is so ridiculous that I can’t even comprehend it. If we judged every religious group by their radical members then every Christian would be part of the Ku Klux Klan or act like that guy who shot up a Planned Parenthood....

Pause Muslim Immigration

...The article I chose for this blog commentary was “At GOP Debate, Trump the Only Candidate Willing to Pause Muslim Immigration” This article caught my eye because it’s yet another example of someone in a position of power spreading a culture of fear mainly based on stereotypes, generalization and assumption. It also caught my eye, because this is very personally related to me. I myself am a Muslim, and even though I was born here, both my parents are immigrants to this country. Many of my close friends and people that I know are Muslim immigrants as well. Since statements such as the ones Trump makes on this issue attack me, my family, and people that I know, I’m naturally biased against what he has to say. This may keep me from being entirely objective....

Behind Muslim Veiling

...Behind Veiling The common head covering for Muslims is veiling. Veiling means so many things to the Islam culture. Veiling is referred to as it protects, liberates, obliterates, represses and it’s a prayer or a prison for the Muslims. Veiling can represent so many different things to different people as I have mentioned a few. As for the Islamic culture it is a lifelong symbol of their religious beliefs. Which is why it has brought up so much controversy over the Islam’s being able to continue wearing the coverings or if they should have to remove them? Their Koran (bible) states in a few verses one verse 33:59, addressed to the prophet Muhammad and his family: “O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters and the believing women that they should cast their outer garment over their persons (whom abroad): That is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) a not molested.” Verse 24:31 states, “And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms.” But writes sociologist Ashraf Zahedi, of University of California, Berkeley Beatrice Bain Research Group, “These citations emphasize on modesty and covering neck and bosom. There is no reference to covering the female hair or to the head veil.” Women believe in Allah so much they stick with the belief of the veiling as part of their normal...

Essay On Muslim Women

...Do Muslim women get all the fundamental rights as mentioned in Islam and prophet’s last sermon which is said to be the code of conduct? God has created men and women equal. They are equal in status and no gender is superior to one another. Allah addresses in Quran as ‘o mankind’ which shows that men and women are equal. Islam does not discriminate any gender. As it is mentioned in the verses of holy Quran; “O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women” (An-Nisaa 1). The above verses of Quran also states that Allah created men and women to support each other as they are the reason of survival of human race. Therefore man...

Muslim Id Card Analysis

...Most Muslim American’s do not agree with Trump’s stance on Muslim ID cards. “Mr. Trump, I’m used to standing out in the crowd. That’s why I’m ready for my special Muslim ID card” is written by Wajahat Ali. The title is perfect for this article because it is saying that Muslims stand out in a crowd and want their ID cards. However, it is using satire because they are not used to standing out in a crowd. They are for the most part just regular American citizens like everyone else living in America. This article talks about Republican Candidate Donald Trump’s stance on giving every Muslim wanting/living in America special ID cards. Ali is pointing out how Trump’s idea of tracking Muslims through a database or issuing ID cards would be wrong. Wajahat Ali is an American-Muslim citizen living in the U.S. which qualifies him to write on this topic. Other notable characteristics...

Can Muslims Be Affected by Psychological

...Can Muslims be affected by psychological problems? Can Muslims be affected by psychological problems? Is it possible for a Muslim to be afflicted with psychological problems? (Because some people say that a Muslim cannot be affected by psychological problems). Praise be to Allaah. Undoubtedly man may be afflicted with psychological problems such as worries about the future and grief over the past. Psychological problems affect the body more than physical problems do. We should know that the worries and distress that affect a person are among the things that expiate his sins and reduce the burden of sin; if he is patient and seeks reward with Allaah, he will be rewarded for that. Treating these problems in the ways prescribed in Islam is more effective than treating them with physical medicine, as is well known. One of the treatments prescribed in Islam is to recite the du aa s narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to relieve worries and distress, for example, the saheeh hadeeth narrated from Ibn Mas ood (may Allaah be pleased with him): There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief, and says: Allaahumma inni abduka ibn abdika ibn amatija naasyati bi yadika, maada fiyya hukmuka, adlun fiyya qadaa uka. As aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista tharta bihi fi ilm il-ghayb indaka an taj al al-Qur aana al- Azeema rabee qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa huzni...

My Message to All Muslim Brethren

...Dear Brother, First accept my Salaam and good wishes. You may have read my website: www.vegetarianmuslim.org. You advocate the slaughtering of animals and eating its flesh while I condemn slaughtering of animals or eating its flesh. Very few Muslims would favour me for what I write and preach. It does not come as a surprise to me, for I am learned and enlightened while most of you do not know your religion or may never have read the Holy Quran with its deep meanings. I have nothing against you. Ultimately, we have to pay for our karma or deeds, sometime, somewhere, and somehow until we die. But it is my duty to let you know the reasons why I preach vegetarianism, why I am against slaughtering or eating of animal flesh, it may be a bird, a four legged animals, fish or any kind of eggs. Even honey and undue use of milk is avoided by me. WHY? IS THE QUESTION Brother, my reasons are as under: 1. Islam was introduced to us by our Holy Prophet Mohammed(peace will always be upon him). He was a hardcore vegetarian. Even small children who read the life history of the Prophet knows , when the Holy Prophet moved away from Mecca to Medina, he did this under great hardship for several days through the dessert and the jungles and on the way he lived on cooked leaves. He never slaughtered any animals during this transit period. He cautioned everyone that meat of animals are intoxicating like wine and also told his followers that they should not turn their stomach into a grave of dead animals...
