...My Management Experiences My management experiences started when I was assigned as the first and only Coal Milling Supervisor. Coal milling then was a very troublesome section, most probably because supervisors in our department are mostly focused in Pyro-processing operation, considered the heart of cement manufacturing. I oversee operations of three units Coal Mill Plants, one unit Coal Flash Dryer and coal conveying systems. I ensure sufficient stock of fine coal in terms of quantity and quality and the continuous availability of all the coal milling equipment. Fine coal is being used as fuel in clinker (semicement) manufacturing. The most recent project in Coal Milling is the state of the art Coal Dozing system worth around P50 M, part of the P2B worth of modification project in the Pyroprocessing department. Coal Mills run 24 hours-7days when the two units Rotary Kiln (Pyro-processing) is in operation. Fine coal consumption is almost break-even with the coal mill capacities. Break down of any equipment in a Coal Mill Plant may result to slow down of Rotary Kiln or reduce in clinker production. Thus, short planning and scheduling of maintenance works at coal mill have to be cautiously implemented and people who will do the job must be motivated to finish the job as soon as possible. If break down of any coal mill took more than eight hours, slowdown of in pyro-processing is inevitable. My Management Experiences During my first year in Coal Milling, I did a...

...My Experience Brianna Thornton PSY/230 September 20, 2013 Jennifer Owens My Experience Check Point: My Experience The event that has changed my personality is the kidnapping, rape and attempted murder of myself at the hands of my ex-boyfriend during a psychotic break he had at the end of march of this year. I do believe that it has changed me greatly because I am now a person that will not go out unless I have to, I will not make phone calls unless it is absolutely necessary, I hardly laugh, smile or find good in the world anymore. I used to be fun loving, trusting, and out going, and now I can not even go out of my “safe house” to get a job let alone get groceries or something that I need from the store. I have changed my whole demeanor and cut out all my friends but a select few for fear of him finding me again. My personality is due to environmental these days because of the event that has just happened but I do believe that the person I once was is due to my genetics. My parents were outgoing, fun loving, and understanding people. They were trusting as I used to be. I feel that this incident was very contributing to my sequestering of myself. I am not sure I will ever get “me” back. As far as my personality goes my humor is gone, the love that I had for life has slipped away and the trust, and zest for everything else is absolutely gone. I do as I have to in my daily life to survive. I think that your environment can be and is a determining factor to your personality...

...Odalis Lopez August 20, 2015 My Experience at a hospital In a small world nursing is a big concept. My name is Odalis Lopez and I am currently 17 years old. My desire is to get into nursing because I have always shown a growing interest into it. It strikes me as a worthwhile and satisfying career to choose. Meanwhile that has always been my interest; I decided to join an ROP program involving the Medical field. So far being in that program has been my biggest accomplishment because through that program I got to work in an actual clinic called Health Works Medical Group Center. I was in that program for about two months, but in just those two months I acquired many skills that I could use in real life. I learned the basic skills and far more than that. It is satisfying to know that if anyone chokes on food of any type and I am there to provide CPR for them. Knowing that I can aid someone in a chocking situation makes me feel honored, to be able to help out. Assisting individuals is something that I have always enjoyed doing not just physically but mentally. I feel like it is what I am good at doing, I feel good about doing so. During my time in this program I experienced many things. For example, I got to see countless of persons that would come in with really bad injuries as in cuts or fractured legs/hands. On one of the days that I was there, I got to assist...

...Airport-Terminal3 Summer 2012-2013 April-June 2013 A GLIMPSE TO AN ON-THE-JOB TRAINEE’S LIFE It’s been a week since I started my On-the-Job training here at Cebu Pacific Air Located at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal-3. Far from being a student; my daily routine has been changed into something unusual for me. I have to wake up early in the morning, prepare myself for the long day ahead, and give out the best upon my working hours. I will be working here for 300 hours; it may take a month and a half, and I’m just on my day. And within those days I already learned a lot of things, more than what I expected. I came to realize the importance of on-the-job training (OJT) to a students’ life. I learned a lot from my experience as an On-the Job Trainee. First of all, I’m very much gratified for the support and understanding of my superiors especially on times when I committed mistakes. More than any learning thought in school, I learned to be with others, to work with people. I learn also to listen to my seniors, even though at times I can’t understand they instructions, I also learn to accept criticism and be apologetic for my mistakes. And also they particularly impart in me what I must know in making use of corporate resources and corporate values. But not all OJTs are as lucky as I am. Not all have a wonderful experience, and that’s the bitter truth. Sometimes some are hired just to do some sort of stuff, worst of all, is when they’re tasked to do things...

...Phillip Mulligan Professor Lothman Introduction to Psychology 23.April.2013 Europe I have been to Europe twice in my life. The first time in 2006, I went with my immediate family. We flew to Germany, then drove to France, Austria, Switzerland, and even saw some of the Torino Olympics in Italy. It was an amazing trip, really opened up my eyes. The second time around was just this past year, in 2012. I flew into Germany again with my Father and a good family friend/neighbor. We met up with my sister who was studying there, then drove All around Germany and to Austria again. Both trips were absolutely amazing and shouldn’t be easily forgotten. Hopefully, they just scratched the surface of my European life The first trip was amazing. The journey started in I want to say 2004, in a very respectful and cultural Swiss restaurant called The Alp Horn, located in Canada. This was the restaurant that my family went to each year for three or four nights in a row. It was a short 20 minute drive from our hotel that we stayed at which is at the base of Blue Mountain. Blue Mountain is 4 seasons resort, popular for it’s skiing, located about 90 minutes from Toronto. We had always made yearly trips to this place to indulge in one of my fathers greatest pleasures, interacting with nature in the means of winter snow skiing. As we sat in our booth reminiscing on the fun we had just had for the past three days our parents told us something. They said they had a secret and were...

...Tina English 49 Professor Stacy Steinberg April 24, 2012 Obesity in America Since I came to the United Stated, everywhere I go I see people who are so obese that they can hardly walk. The first time, it was very strange for me simply because I never saw that kind of obesity before in my country. I wondered how someone could let himself become a part of this situation, which makes me ask this question, “Why are people more obese in the United Stated than other countries?” Finally I found that we have many ways to prevent obesity but education is the best way to prevent obesity I America such as schools provide healthy food, physical education and empower parents caregivers with simpler. First of all, providing healthy food in schools is the best way to change their eating habits the hope that the younger generations of children will start a healthier America. A major part of a child’s is spent at school. While the main focus should be on education, administrator should ensure that there is a healthy food selection for children. For instance, in the most schools, there are vending machines which consist of very unhealthy foods such as soda, chocolates, and chips. In the cafeterias, the menu includes French fries and burgers. With this kind of selection, it is very difficult for a child to eat healthy. Therefore, schools should offer more beneficial foods such as salads, sandwiches to cater to the health of the students. By having healthy choice of foods in schools is not only...

...was very challenging to adapt to the American lifestyle. On April 20th, 2004, I boarded a flight to the United States of America to visit my mom and sister. As I look out the window as the plane prepared for take-off, I felt a rush of anticipation to see what was so exciting about the United States of America that everyone had spoken so highly about but sadden that I had to leave my friends and some of my family behind in a place I once called home. Upon my flight after spending about 5hrs airborne, the pilot came on the speaker giving announcements about our approach to the “big apple” New York as they say. As the plane landed, I was escorted off the plane by one of the flight crew. While walking, my eyes started to glance the beauty of this huge airport, fascinated by the things I saw,...

...My path to medicine doesn’t follow a typical route. It wasn’t until I was 25 that I found my passion for medicine. Shortly before then, I had emigrated from Australia to the United States. I saw this move as an opportunity to leave my first career, which was in banking, behind. I knew for a few years prior that banking just wasn’t for me. While I liked helping people achieve their goals, financial goals seemed rather shallow. After all, there’s only so many houses, cars, boats, etc. that somebody can enjoy. I wanted to help people in a way that was more personally fulfilling, so I decided to train as an EMT shortly after I immigrated. I saw EMT training as a pathway to help people in what’s often a time of their greatest need. However, it wasn’t...

...Some say I lost my mind. I think I just misplaced it. Since my fall on the ice I have gone through some traumatic experiences. I learned that even when life gives you hard times you have to have hope. I learned that the hard way. Tough hope, I experienced that first hand. Just last year I got a concussion while skating. It happened when I was doing my triple axel during a figure skating show when I fell on my back. I got up and finished my routine with much difficulty. Right when I got of the ice I started feeling dizzy and nauseous. My performance won second place. When we got on the bus I fainted. The next time I woke up I was in the doctor's office. The doctor said that recovery would take up to...

...There are many reasons why I'm happy in my new career in nursing, a profession full of humanism, sacrifice and dedication. There have been many positive experiences in my performance during this course such as the improvement of my English, the knowledge gained in the field of nutrition and legality, but my greatest satisfaction has been in clinical practice in the hospital assigned. I have experienced the importance of a proper performance of nursing technique in each of the procedures to be performed with the patients, the interest of nurses in training us and the gratitude of patients when we give them a quality service. It is extremely important to follow the steps in each nursing techniques because omit or used incorrectly can have negative consequences in the diagnosis, treatment and complications in the patient. Once, the equipment used in hospital to measure blood pressure did not work properly and it was necessary to use a conventional aneroid sphygmomanometer, the result was a significant difference in the patient's blood pressure due to an incorrect technique. Diastolic blood pressure was very high because they interpreted the change in tone of the last heartbeat and not its total disappearance as a reference in this data. In another case, a patient suffered a slight aspiration due to the angle used to raise the head of the bed was less than the appropriate while eating lunch. These experiences were used by nurses to discuss them later in a teaching exercise. So...

Having this said, it is quite obvious that math could easily be as old as humanity itself. The topic that I like the best is when our instructor teaches about the quadratic equation it is difficult but I try and pursue to understand even though it’s so difficult. I always study about this topic because I really don’t know how to solve it that’s why I research something about things and I also talk to our instructor and ask some questions about the topic that I don’t understand. I did it because I really want to learn and I want to pass this subject. I like...

...My Bull Riding Experience In society, bull riders are looked upon as modern gladiators by some. They step into the arena in an attempt to conquer the beast before them. By others, bull riders are looked upon as adrenaline junkies simply looking for their next “fix”. I’ve always had a curiosity as to what keeps these athletes coming back to the arena after sustaining injury after injury. Is it the love for the sport, the natural competitive nature of human beings, or something else entirely? The sport is seen as primitive to outsiders, almost barbaric. Man versus beast, beast versus man. What else is there to win in a sport like this other than pride and enough money to pay for your medical bills? Even these questions I had prior to my experience did little to deter my curiosity. I set out to gain a little more information about the sport before attempting what is known as the “most dangerous eight seconds in sports”. It doesn’t take a professional, however, to know that I wasn’t going to last eight seconds, on my first go-around anyway. I found out that the taming of bulls has ancient roots dating as far back as the Minoan culture. The first recorded bull riding events took place in the 16th century during Mexican haciendas. Primarily, everything that I learned taught me that the act of bull riding, and rodeo events in general, have been around for a long time and are deeply rooted in almost every culture. After I conducted my brief research, I was excited to begin planning...

...be exact. I have lived in Africa all my life and I loved the African culture. I have not been a globe trotter but every part of Nigeria and Africa is pretty much the same. My first major travel experience is to come to New Orleans, Louisiana United States of America to study after spending eight (8) year in a Nigerian University (University of Maiduguri) without graduating. Everything is entirely different in this part of the world. Unlike some parts of Nigeria that currently does not want westernization including western education. I clearly see what makes America great and New Orleans the crescent city facing the Mississippi river and the birth place of jazz with rich culture. I boarded a Delta Airline to the United States to start the spring semester in Southern University New Orleans in January 2014. I looked forward to seeing the beauty of America as I’ve always see in movies. As I got off the plane at Louis Armstrong International airport (MSY), got hold of my luggage, I started to notice the difference and it dawned on me that I am over 100,000 miles away from home. Evidently, it was different out here than what I use to know. Everyone knew their way around. I barely could communicate because no one had the patience to understand my thick English accent. I tried to speak to a white lady by a corner and she walked away from me after saying “I can’t understand you”. I felt humiliated and wished I could board the next flight back to my country. America was too busy for me...

...My experience in Jaffna. - Sandarangi Perera. For three long decades Sri Lanka was torn apart by a malicious war between the country’s majority and minority. This war made the northern part of the country inaccessible to most of us; its citizens. I myself thought that the people, culture and beauty of Jaffna and its surrounding areas would forever remain a mystery to me. However once the war ended the north opened its doors for the rest of the island to come witness all it has to offer. Even with this great opportunity at my grasp, yet I was not capable of visiting northern Sri Lanka as I simply never had the chance to. Luckily this chance was given to my fellow college mates and me by our college, the chance to see and experience the post war north. After much planning, excitement and enthusiasm we set off to Jaffna hoping to gain new experiences, to learn new lessons and to make memories as young individuals aspiring to be future journalists. Our purpose of going to Jaffna was to collect information that was needed to write the stories that each of us were assigned. The general topic assigned to the particular group that I belonged to was “agriculture”, and we were given the full freedom to choose a story we preferred under that wide topic. The task was to choose a story which has a news value. I instantly decided on writing my story about the grape cultivation in Jaffna, considering my love for the fruit and my curiosity about the process of its cultivation. On my first...

Some of my experiences that I faced during my childhood, were the dissident Taliban who hated education for girls, my reading memories from my school period, my reading obstacles, and my travel to United states which changed my life style. During Taliban period when I was six years old, based on bigotry that was exist on that time, the girls and women was not able to go to school library and even outside home. The context was not favorable. Although my parents were educated, but that situation was effected my mother, father and my family too. And they were not paid attention on my study.
