My constellation is hydra. Its nickname is the water snake. As Sumerian myth goes, Hydra represented the dragon goddess Tiamat, who was the chief foe of the god Marduk. Marduk put Hydra in the sky so it would appear to disappear below the celestial horizon during the summer solstice, resembling the sun’s yearly victory over darkness.
