...My Favorite Place Gatlinburg, Tennessee is my favorite place to be for many reasons. In the city there are many small stores and different restaurants to choose from. There is never a boring moment at any time of the day. Every time I visit Gatlinburg I always have an awesome and eventful time. My main favorite place in Tennessee is my grandma’s house. My grandma has always kept many farm and house animals. In the backyard there is an old gray barn with white doors, four windows, and the paint is slowly peeling away on the outside. The barn contains a few pigs, cows, and chickens. She always has had a dog inside the house, currently a caramel colored Boxer named Sammy. About a mile from each side of her house are two big farms. One farm grows different crops such as hay and corn. The other farm has many cows roaming around inside of a fenced area while grazing on hay. There is also an oval shaped pond in her backyard. After a long day I always swim in the pond and in the middle of it there is a huge navy blue raft I swim to and sit on for a while. The pond also stocked with fish so it’s fun to go fishing in too. I love visiting my grandma during the summer because it is very peaceful and eventful. Another reason I enjoy being in Tennessee is the extremely beautiful weather that it has. There are consistent hot and sunny temperatures. In the summer it is usually around 80-100+ degrees outside. During this time I’m never occupied in the house at all and I’m pretty much living...

...My Favorite Memory ENG 101/102 January 30, 2013 My Favorite Memory 1 I have to say that my favorite memory has to be going on our family vacation to the Bahamas. We went on a five day cruise. There were eighteen of us in our group. Including my Daughters’ dad, co-mom & her little brother and sister. We drove down to Port Jax in Jacksonville, Florida to catch the boat. My mom, son Chance, my daughter Kayla and I went down early, so we could enjoy our drive. The trip down was great. Spending time with my family is always nice. We did some sight-seeing on the way down, we sang songs together like we were a quartet and tons of other things. After we arrived in Jacksonville, we checked into our hotel. We were there a few hours before everyone else arrived. When they all got settled in, all eighteen of us met up for dinner. This was a great time to celebrate our big family vacation. The group included nine adults and nine children. Ranging in age from almost two to sixteen. The next day we loaded all of our things up and headed to Port Jax. There we so many people and long lines. Customs was a little stressful, but we all made it through save and sound. After taking pictures, we finally got to board the ship. It was amazing! It was like a floating city. With all of the shops, restaurants, bars & nightclubs. Our luggage was delivered...

...My Favorite Fruit: The Coconut. There are a plethora of fruits that one can enjoy eating. With such a broad selection of fruits provided to us, there is one in particular that seems to make my taste buds go wild; the coconut. This exotic fruit, only found in the tropics, is the one that is considered to be my favorite of all. It not only has refreshing tasty water on the inside, but also has solid fruit on the inner part of the sphere shaped cover. The particular type of coconut I enjoy eating is the Maypan Coconut. This coconut has a solid surface, which differentiates it from the one that appears to have hair-like elements. To be able to effectively consume this fruit and the water inside the coconut, one must first make sure there is water inside, because if not it will not taste too pleasant. In order to drink the water inside the coconut, you must open a small hole to fit a straw or to drain the water into a cup. After one makes sure there is no water on the inside, you should use a powerful cutting instrument, such as a machete to cut it open in half. However, if this procedure is performed with water still inside, you will make a disorder. Last but not least, if an individual wishes, they may eat the white meat inside by peeling it with a knife, and therefore it will come right off. The texture of the Maypan coconut is hard and solid. It’s so hard that if it were to fall from a tree onto an individual’s head, it may even cause a concussion. Sometimes the surfaces...

...Terry Harris ACO332561 EN 130 Composition II Lesson 4 Writing a developed process analysis How to prepare my favorite dish I have always been someone who enjoys good food, but very particular about what I eat. So for that reason only I have become somewhat of a chef. I love to entertain and have family and friends over to test new recipes. One recipe I debut have become a family favorite and have to bring it to every family gathering. I received this recipe from one of my coworkers when I was looking for something different to do with cabbage, which I love. She told me that her family loves this recipe and its super simple to prepare. It’s called Runza, similar to a calzone, without the red sauce. To get started you will want to make sure you have all your ingredients close to you. This is what you will need. When I make this recipe I rarely measure anything out. It’s all to taste. I’ll start with the most important ingredients first, One head of cabbage, one pound of ground turkey or ground beef ( which ever you prefer), one green and red bell pepper, mozzarella cheese, one large onion, garlic cloves. You will use one teaspoon of each of these spices: salt, pepper, red pepper, red curry, Italian seasoning and chili powder to give it a little kick. I usually would make my own bread recipe but for time saving measures I just use an already made pie crust. I would get two just in case you will need to double wrap. Lastly you will need, as Rachel Ray would say, one...

In that day morning, all of us woke up premature, even the cock had not rowed yet. It seemed everyone got rid of the bad habit because we usually slept inertia. Maybe my mother spoil me and wanted me have an inconceivable birthday. She came out from the kitchen, holding a plate in her palm of hand. I can saw there were a sunny side up egg, several slice of duck’s brisket and a stick of sausage. In addition, she served me my favorite beverage soda. After we finished our breakfast, we went to our destination by bus. We took 961 and there was a mainland citizen behind me. We were lining up and ready to get in the bus. At that moment I can felt she nudged my back and I really abhor it. Seriously, I loathed their outrageous and absurd behavior. After validated my octopus card, I went to upper deck and I found it was full of seat. It indicated I need to stand in the bus over the whole journey. I went down the stair reluctantly. Because...

...Strawberry Shortcake: My favorite dessert What better way to conjure up the simplicity of youth than by memories of my favorite dessert-- strawberry shortcake. The first thought that comes to mind when I think of my favorite dessert is, my grandmother Essie Tolen many of happiest childhood memories come from the kitchen. When I became sad or depressed due to the abandonment of my mother. My grandma knew exactly what dessert to bake to put a smile on my face and comfort my heart. It is a dessert of both meager origins and uncomplicated design. In fact, the basic recipe is so perfect in its original form that few variations have been made and sustained overtime. Very much like the best memories of my childhood, strawberry shortcake is delicious in its pure, unassuming simplicity. The origin of this delicious dessert dates back at least as far as the 1500s, but the evolution of strawberry shortcake is somewhat uncertain. However, records do reveal strawberry shortcake is a European invention. The "short" of the shortcake name derives from the process of adding of shortening or butter to dough to make it tender. Strawberry shortcake parties became popular in the United States around 1850, as a celebration of the coming of summer. The strawberry fever caught up with people as the timing of introducing the dessert clicked and the demand kept increasing every year. Made of fresh ingredients in a few simple steps, it is no wonder strawberry shortcake is so popular...

...Page1 My favorite food Chicken fettuccine pasta is my favorite food. I prefer this dish because of the great taste. Its necessity consists of a magnificent sauce, tender chicken, and mixed vegetables. This blend of ingredients contributes the flavor, texture, and appearances of this extravagant pasta. Just because the sauce isn’t an attractive color, which is an dull white with drops of Grey from mushrooms and small indefinite amount of green from the broccoli which is added. The creamy fettuccine sauce itself is so tantalizing it’s truly what I call the cream of the crop. Added to the sauce is a mixture of mozzarella, ricotta, and provolone cheese along with sauteed mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. As I twirl the fork of noodles against the spoon, the expectation of silky smooth noodles gliding down my throat salivates the glands on my tongue. While eating such a well desired meal it’s certainly easy to forget my manners, weather its at home or fine dinning I’m always caught of guard slurping the noodles so fast that the sauce ends up on my face. I do use napkins but remember I’m lost into my dream world. The chicken is a substantial filling for pasta. My philosophy is no meal is complete without a thick savory meat. There are many ways to cook chicken before adding it into fettuccine pasta. My favorite is Cajun deep fried chicken breast that’s tender and juicy, cut into thin strips. It has a crunchy golden brown spicy flavored batter. I prefer my chicken cooked...

...April 17,2012 My Favorite Place Through out the whole world, there are plenty of places where people love to go. Some may be a certain area, a store, a home, or even a different country. One place can hold special values to one person. Whether it’s a memory or memories, a feeling, or even just being in the environment. All of it leads up to being a persons “favorite place”. Everyone has a favorite place in their home, a place where he or she can be him or herself. Somewhere you can find peace and harmony. For some it's a quiet place, for others it's a hustling, bustling, full of people and movement place. But all of these places have one thing in common; they are places where you'd run to in times of both joy and stress. There is one place to me that makes me feel like I am the only one in the world. I chose this place because its stress free. It’s the only place in my house where I can be myself. I don’t have to worry about what others have to say. I can lay back and relax on my bed. A lot of times I just lay down and close my eyes and daydream about places I'd like to see or think about things that make me happy. One thing I do not do is think about things I need to get done or anything that makes me feel stressed because then I’ll never feel relaxed. I usually try to stay away from these kinds of thoughts and it usually works out well. Being able to watch whatever I please on my own television. Even playing my Xbox 360, without having to share with my brothers. Having...

...My Favorite Teacher by Thomas L. Friedman Friedman’s essay was solely talking about his favorite teacher, which was Hattie. Even though Hattie seemed to be an old stickler, the children at St. Louis Park High School really loved going to Room 313; sometimes they would even go out there and just hangout. He gives Hattie the credit for teaching much of what he knows and how he writes. This reminded me a lot like my English teacher in high school. Devery Feickert was one of my favorite teachers for the longest time. He taught Creative Writing to a handful of children from the 12th grade, myself being one of them. This class taught me how to write in a different way than I did before. My greatest lessons that I got from that class would have to be writing of all the five senses; we did a unit on each. Devery made me look at my writing different than I have ever looked at it before. He gave me a sense of satisfaction with every word I wrote. He made me feel content with being so picky during the writing process, even though half the time I didn’t start my paper until the night before, mostly due to the fact that I was still wandering aimlessly trying to find a suitable topic. My first composition I wrote in college I had to bring back to Devery to share my excitement. I felt great when his response was, “That’s fantastic, Allison! Doesn’t surprise me that you could accomplish that because I know you have that ability. Your hard work in high school pays off, and you can write essays...

...Gary Professor Graham Engl 1101 TR 5:00-6:15 7 February 2013 My Favorite Restaurant As a child, I wasn’t fond of eating out. During the early 1960s, where racial segregation was still Prevalent in the south and spending time in public places presented a high challenge for African- Americans. Severely hampered by socioeconomic barriers, our choices for leisure, recreation, and entertainment was limited, particularly in restaurants. Every time we went anywhere, something would happen to illustrate the fact that we were not welcomed, but for a little place called Helen’s 2 Spot. I loved the place and this made my parents love it too. The place seemed so magical and fascinating to me then, when I was still an elementary school kid, and surprisingly, the place still very much fascinates me today. Just recently, when I went back to my hometown of Florence, S.C. for Thanksgiving, I was surprised to find out that the place still operated, and in fact, was run by the same family. Apart from the house in which I grew up, Helen’s 2 Spot is probably the dearest little place to me in town. What is so special about this place? It’s hard to answer in just a few words. First of all, Helen’s, as we all like to call it, is a small cozy house in the outskirts, with not one indication, even a sign, that would tell you from its outer appearance that would tell you that it is a restaurant. This is what probably earned my love in the first place; this and the people who worked, and still...

...2006081024 Jonathan Yu My Favorite Place I am not a Canadian. I am a Korean who lives in Korea my almost entire life. When it comes to my favorite place, there are a lot of good place to visit in Korea and I went there many times. However, my favorite place is in Canada. Last year I made up my mind to go to Canada not only to experience different cultures, but to study how to speak English well. Calgary in Canada is my favorite place because of some characteristic : A tourist attraction, friend, food. Even though I went to Calgary through working holiday program visa to work and study English, many tourist attractions tempted me into enjoying them. The Calgary Stampede which is the biggest festival in Canada is an annual rodeo, exhibition and festival held every July in Calgary. As soon as I got to the festival, there were a lot of people from other countries. It looked like vehicles were bumper to bumper. Also, delicious hot dogs was tempting me to buy them, giving off attractive smell. In the middle of the festival were horrible rides and rodeo event in which cowboys show different skills, including riding wild horses, catching cattle with ropes and a thrilling race. When I went into Calgary’s downtown, I could easily find a big tower, the Calgary Tower. The Calgary tower is the tallest structure in Calgary. When I arrived at the top floor of the Calgary tower, bright sunshine welcomed me with smile and the tower gave me a scenic view of downtown through a wide window....

...| My Favorite Brand | Target Stores | | Brandi Collins | 9/6/2015 | | My favorite brand is not just one brand, but a whole store. I love Target stores. With the fast and friendly service, clean and easy to maneuver through aisles, the stores are ideal for browsing and easy-going shopping. Although Target may be a little more expensive then its competitors, it is a better store to shop at because of the customer service and cleanliness. I love shopping at target for many different reasons, but there are three main reasons. I actually buy some of Target’s brand items and they are actually pretty good. The products have a long lasting life and are cheaper than name brands sold in the store. Their off brands consist of food, drink, cleaning and paper products, and even clothing. Another reason I love target so much is because the customer service is great. The team members are always available and willing to help you find something. They keep short lines to better serve the customer and the registers grade the cashier to help cut down wait time. I have oved Target since I was in high school and I worked there soon after. The employees have a meeting every day to share ideas on how to better serve customers. And the last reason I love Target is that it is very organized. The store is always in good shape and neat. Things are easy to find and it is easy to maneuver through. The store is not very crowded and is hardly ever over crowed with customers. Selling...

...History of Culture and Cuisine My Favorite Foods Mangos Mangos have been cultivated in South Asia for thousands of years and arrived to East Asia between the 4th and 5th centuries BC. By the 10th century AD, its culture had begun in East Africa. The 14th century Moroccan traveler, Ibn Battuta, reported it at Mogadishu Mangos then came later to Brazil, the West Indies and Mexico, where an appropriate climate allows its growth. “Selecting the ripeness of mangos can be determined by either smelling or squeezing” (Fresh mangos, 2011). A ripe mango will have a full, fruity aroma emitting from the stem end. Mangos can be considered ready to eat when slightly soft to the touch and yielding to gentle pressure, like a ripe peach. “The best flavored fruit have a yellow tinge when ripe; however, color may be red, yellow, green, orange or any combination” (Fresh mangos, 2011). Mangoes are widely used in cuisine. Sour, unripe mangoes are used in chutneys, pickles, or side dishes, or may be eaten raw with salt, chili, or soy sauce. Mango is used to make juices, smoothies, ice cream, fruit bars, pies, or a sweet and spicy chili paste. It is popular on a stick dipped in hot chili powder and salt or also as a main ingredient in fresh fruit combinations. “In Central America, mango is either eaten green mixed with salt, vinegar, black pepper and hot sauce, or ripe in various forms”(Fresh mangos, 2011). Toasted and ground pumpkin seed with lime and salt are used in their country when...
