Hope
I was born April 17 1998 in Jamaica, my family and I grew up in the islands. At the time we didn’t have the best house, government, healthcare and education. But what we did have was hope, we had to strive to live a better life to become something great. We had the persevere and have a deep desire to make it out our tough situation.
I can recall not going to school at times because in Jamaica the school system isn’t free. My family couldn’t afford the cost of living and sending me to school. My mother was a maid and my dad was a handyman. They did the best they could to provide for me and give me the best life I could possibly have. On the other hand, I had my aunt, she would wake me up every morning to keep me productive in daily activities. …show more content…
She was able to join a work program in order to come to United States. She would write letters telling us about her experience both good and bad. She would send money and boxes of food and supplies we’ve never seen before. She later became a citizen and filled for us to come live with her. I always thought it would be a dream to fly in an airplane. The moment I stepped off the plane I was in shock, I’ve never seen this distant land before and it was fascinating. The moment I stepped into a store I couldn’t believe how much food was on the shelves. Me and my family lived in a low income apartment with air-conditioning, it was better than how we lived back home and it was in a safer community. I was able to enroll in the correct grade because I was ahead of my class. My family was able to find work and do the same thing my grandmother had done. We later bought a house of our own and life was going good for once. We weren’t struggling, we didn’t have to live a day wondering where the next meal will come from or who died. The struggle was somewhat over but life will never perfect an I would always think about the people back

My Hope Research Paper

...Different people have different hopes and wishes. One might hope to find a close friend, the other may hope to be healthy and still, another might hope for a change in government in the future. In our culture, the term "hope" refers to a wish for something that may happen or may not happen. We can all hope that there will be nothing but good in the world when we wake up tomorrow, but we don't know what is going to actually happen for sure. My hope for the future is for people to focus on acting as if life matters. We, Americans, need to live together in peace. We all need to focus on what really matters instead of the little nonsense. People have fought for our freedom and peace. We should respect all the ones that have stood for our country in uniform and stand behind them with support. As Aesop said, "United we stand, divided we fall."...

...University of Phoenix Material Research Plan As part of your research plan, you must first draft a research question for your research paper that will guide the rest of your writing. A research question, which is more specific and focused than a general topic, is the question that your research paper will answer. For example, if your general area of interest is social security, a possible research question might ask, “How can low-income families save more money if the United States had a reformed social security plan that includes personal retirement accounts?” As you develop a research question, remember that you need to research sources to support your topic. Do not pick a one-sided question that will limit your research. Instead, develop a research question that lends itself to further exploration and debate—a question you genuinely want to know the answer to. Try to pick a research question that is neither too broad (covering too much) or too narrow (covering too little). It should be broad enough to be discussed in a short research paper. Introduction; I propose to find the unbelievable but realistic truth about the unfair business policies and strategies of street hawkers which are effecting the growth of corruption badly. Street hawkers may looks like a very poor and decent people but for their business they are following many such strategies that are very unethical. Moreover as a result of those policies some honest people in the same profession can not make this business profitable. Understanding the bad effects of those policies I intend my paper to be a background report for audiences and hope that my research will help readers to concern about this problem and take adequate actions to solve it. Areas to be studied: At this point in my research I have identified the following four questions to investigate: 1) What are the main strategies and policies of street hawkers which are unethical? 2) What are the main reasons to follow these unfair business strategies and policies? 3) What are the advantages and disadvantages to follow these strategies and policies? 4) How these strategies and policies will affect the growth rate of corruption? There's No Hope of Doing Perfect Research

...Essay August 6, 2011 Written by Joseph Prabagar There Is No Hope of Doing Perfect Research (Griffiths, 1998, P97) Do You Agree? When I was asked to write an essay on the statement above, I went to Google to get an idea. What I found amazed and belittled me all the same. Hundreds of essays were already available on this very statement! And I, having read countless books, had not encountered this declaration made by Morwenna Griffiths on page 97 in her book entitled, Educational Research for Social Justice: Getting off the Fence… until now. Majority of the uploaded essays on the web began by quoting the definition of the word ‘research’ and then elaborated on the definitions before proceeding to agree with the ‘no perfect research’ doctrine proclaimed by Griffiths. One particular essay that was published in TermPaper Warehouse – The Term Paper Factory, caught my attention. It was simple, direct and made absolute sense. The opening paragraph of this essay summarized Morwenna Griffiths’ statement as a realization that, as humans we have the capacity do our best research but we must also accept that it cannot be perfect (Asymphonical termpaperwarehouse.com). Do I agree? Yes absolutely. I recollect the term paper that I did for a Sociology course in college some years ago. The subject matter was on Heavy Metal and the misunderstood fans. My research for the term paper was primarily based on questionnaires, interviews, introspection and observations. As there was a...

My Writing: My Experience As A Writer

...writing because I read a lot and I think that reflects in my writing and makes it writing easier. One thing I have learned from reading many books is to have my writing authentic and unique because those are the writings that stick with you. I have written a research paper, persuasive essays, book reports, and a reflection paper. One of my mistakes in writing is that I don’t know how to stop. I used to write very long stories in elementary school and my teacher had told my parents that I ramble a lot in my writing. Ever since, I’ve tried to control that and I try to write clearly and concisely without making it too repetitive or redundant. I like when I can essentially “hear my voice” when I read my writing, which is why as much as I do respect and appreciate criticism on my papers, sometimes I find it hard to change my writing because I want it to sound the most like me....
