...Why do foreign tourists avoid returning to Vietnam? Many foreign tourists, especially Japanese tourists, love to make pleasure trips to Vietnam. They are not only touched by hospitable Vietnamese people, but also the taste of Vietnamese cuisine and are impressed by spectacular handicrafts. However, despite their passion for Vietnam, they only return on short business trips. Here are several from Japanese tourists which can help us to figure out why they don’t make return pleasure trips and solve this situation. According to these tourists, there are three main problems discouraging them from making a second trip to Vietnam. First, due to the complicated traffic in big Vietnamese cities, travelling in taxis is their only safe transportation choice. Nevertheless, they are harassed (disturbed) quite often by taxi drivers who always try to make as much money as possible. Second, in many of the country’s tourist destinations, no bathrooms can be found (and the few that exist are dirty). Last but not least, there isn’t tissue available, even for women, in the bathrooms of well-known commercial centers situated in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. Recently, this old bathroom problem has been mentioned in the newspapers and we should expect to see considerable improvements sooner or later. As for dealing with harassment from taxi drivers, the Japanese tourists suggested selling all-inclusive(all-in) price tickets for public transportation, as in Japan. This would mean that taxis based...

...My witnessing report is about a neighbor who was put out the house across the street from me. It all begin when I was sitting on my sister’s porch across the street from my house. The young man who graduated with me came across the street and asked me if I could give him a pop and something to eat. I said, ‘yes”. I went in the house and fix him a sandwich, pick up some chips off the table and went into the refrigerator and got a pop. Then I went back outside on the porch and gave the man the food. He thanked me and gave me a hug. He also asked me if I remember him from high school and asked me if I knew his name. I told him yes. Then he asked me if I knew of any place he could stay. I told him about various facilities that took...

...My Ecological Footprint Report Introduction The objective of the Ecological Footprint (EF) Calculator has allowed me to calculate overall impact on natural resources and to explore opportunities for changing my current lifestyle choices. It has also made me understanding of the linkages between environment, economy, society, and inter and intra-generational equity that relate each other. As our economy is generated by the goods and services developed from natural, social, built/financial capitals, this calculator highlights me the importance of how my daily decision-making can effect largely on the environment and my consumption is overtaken the ability of the earth to sustain inter and intra generations' life cycles. We including humans and other species have only one planet on the earth to survive well. Currently we have an ecological overshoot of human demands on natural assets which have exceeded the Earth's regenerative capacity. (Global Footprint Network, 2012) There are needs for precautions and remedial actions on increased consumptions over natural capital given by the planet's limited natural resources and ecological degradation. To avoid this upcoming effects, we all have our own individual's responsibility to reduce our impact and go GREEN from small to big chances which require our daily informed choices, planning, management, strategy and investment. Moreover, we should set realistic reduction targets and meet them for inter and intra-generations. The report...

...Inside India’s Education I am glad to say that I am one of those lucky few kids in India who had the privilege of attending a private school. My parents could afford to send me to a good school, and I am eternally grateful to them. But, I did not understand how lucky I was until 2006, when I volunteered to teach English to a group of kids studying or rather enrolled in a government school where subjects are taught in regional language. It was when I met these kids aged between 6-12, and I got firsthand information about their class structure, teachers, syllabus, etc. Recently, I read “Needs Improvement’: Despite Progress, India’s primary education system has ways to go” published in The Lauder Global Business Insight Report 2013 by Knowledge@Wharton. In the rest of this paper, I would like to compare my first-hand experience and reflect on this article. Majority of the population in India lives in rural areas with access mostly to government led primary schools. Rural India is the backbone of India and the future of India lies in the hands of the children of India. Currently the problems I see with government-led schools in India are: * The teaching medium in most of the schools is the regional language of the state in which the school is located [5] * The very large ratio of students to teachers hence lack of individual attention [6] * A large number of untrained teachers [7] * A general lack of disinterest in learning due to the attitude of people...

...In the book “My Side of the Mountain” by Jean Craighead George, a boy named Sam Gribley decides to go off and live in the wilderness to get away from the city. He lives in a forest for over a year, and at the end, his family comes to visit him. The book ends with Sam’s family deciding to move in with him to his little section of the wilderness. He had lived alone in the base of a tree happily and was upset that his family was deciding to build a house for him and the rest of his family to live in. I also did not like that the story ended with Sam ending up basically back where he started; with a bunch of other people in a civilized house. I know that one big theme of the book was that you can never really truly escape people and civilization...

...An author of the popular and successful series of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan completely blew me away with his third and latest installment in the Heroes of Olympus series - The Mark of Athena. The book was published last October 2, 2012 and garnered distinguished awards namely #1 New York Times Bestseller, #1 Indie Bestseller, #1 USA Today Bestseller and #1 Wall Street Journal Bestseller. The novel continues where the Son of Neptune left off. The story is an unforgettable journey from across United States and Mediterranean Sea to Rome, where unexpected dangers, unbelievable discoveries and baffling problems await. Climb aboard the Argo II if you dare to unravel the great mystery of a thousand year old dispute between Greeks and Romans. The author realized how many Greek and Roman Myths he had left untouched in the first series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He began to write the second series entitled Heroes of Olympus to compensate the demands of his avid fans. He used his experiences for his storyline from Warcraft and Scion that he and his children had played. After creating the storyline, Riordan created new characters such as Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel and Frank. Fortunately, the old characters such as Percy and Annabeth are still part of the main protagonists in the new story. Unlike the first series which uses first-person narration of Percy’s point of view, the second series is told in third-person and narrated by different demigods in every book...

...Investigating my First Variable Variance Report: Beginning the Road to Precision in Variable Planning Oh, bemusing variance report! However will I explain to Bob Schuler, Hahnemann Hospitals’ vice president, the ineffectiveness of my plan, how my supplies came in under budget and salaries were overextended during my first thirty days in the department?! I had hoped the variance percentages would be consistent with the unexpected revenue created by the increased patient volumes we experienced last month - but that could only explain the salary end of things because supplies and procedures didn’t increase. Furthermore, since patient volumes increased, it would make sense that more supplies would be used and more staff would be on-site, prepared for higher volumes - just as the busy times of the hospital were predicted in prior flexible budgets and analyses. (But supplies were reported as lower than expected which doesn’t match up) If I know Mr. Schuler, he is going to be very angry about quality control if I cannot figure out why my supplies were less than estimated and even more livid if we were detrimentally overstaffed; my job may even be in jeopardy! Calm down! Breathe. As I type, I am beginning to believe these variances are not my fault at all. But, I had never imagined switching from the fixed to variable expense department would include such a string of headaches. I must rise to this challenge and pull out every stop in my detection-correction plan while investigating...
