...types of rituals that people create. A ritual is an established routine that is followed the same way each time. For example my personal ritual is studying for a math exam. I have created this ritual to help me maintain my concentration for studying. When I am studying for a math exam my main goal is to learn the material so I can do well. I will study for few a days before the exam. On the first night I always spread my books on my bed. After I look over lecture notes, rework problems and look over homework, by doing this it helps me remind me of what has been discussed in previous class. I often doze off when I am studying on my bed this is when I know it is time to change my location. I go get a cup of coffee and study in the kitchen for the reminder of the night. The kitchen is not as comfortable as my bed but it helps me stay awake and I have more space to use on the kitchen table. I stay up until I finish reviewing my lecture notes and homework. The next day I will make an exam for myself. I will take it after a delay period so I would not remember where I got the problems from. I will do this at least two days before the exam. Afterwards I will go back over what I had trouble on the practice exam. On the afternoon before the exam I reread lecture notes and work out problems. That night I try to clear my head and do something fun just to relax and get the exam out of my head.
