I was born in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. My father is Madurese and my mother is Javanese. My home and my high school are in Bogor, West Java, which is a Sundanese area. During cultural celebrations and weddings, we always honor the traditions of these three places, whether it is through what we wear or how we celebrate. I have lived in many countries, including Switzerland, Singapore and Malaysia for a total of about six years. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding about the diversity of cultures as well as an appreciation of cultural differences.
I graduated among the top students of SMA Negeri 1 Bogor. My school is one of the top public high school in Indonesia and is selected by the Ministry of Education to use a pilot international standard curriculum (SBI). After I graduated, I am accepted into Computer Science program at the University of Indonesia, one of the highest ranking program in the country. …show more content…

Many Many Sops

...collection of lots of sops of lots of seniors. Browse. According to whacko. (Addressed to our batch) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for SOPs, don't worry too much. All of you have good writing skills. Anyway, my advice on this matter is: [1] Have a look at some SOPs *now* or early next SEM. [2] When it's time to write your own SOP, do it *fully* by yourself. Do not look at anybody else's SOP. [3] Having made version 1.0 of your SOP, *now* take a look at as many SOPs as you can of guys in your area. Borrow points from then which you think are good. [4] Your SOP does not have to be too big. We at IITB tend to write long SOPs (1.5 to 2 pages) whereas IITM guys (who get better schools!)Usually write 0.75 page (max. 1 page). Basically, their SOPs are much more direct and to-the-point than ours. [5] REMEMBER THAT A SOP *MUST* BE ORIGINAL. Statement of Purpose I am applying to Stanford University for admission to the Ph.D. program in Computer Science. I am interested in Theoretical Computer Science, particularly in the Design and Analysis of Approximation Algorithms, Combinatory and Complexity Theory. My interest in Mathematics goes back to the time I was at school. This interest has only grown through my years in school and high school, as I have learnt more and more about the subject. Having represented India at the International Mathematical Olympiads on two occasions, I have been exposed to elements of Discrete Mathematics, particularly...

Liberal Arts Breadth and My Education

...BREADTH AND MY EDUCATION 3 Liberal Arts Breadth and My Education There are many benefits to getting a Liberal Arts degree in today’s economic market. It is a message to your employer that you are willing to take on new information, and learn more then what is necessary to succeed. It shows initiative and the ability to expand your horizons beyond yourself. In a Liberal Arts education there is more purpose then just learning the career field of choice. It is a program that teaches critical thinking and self-thought. It teaches the student how to learn and teach themselves, to achieve more than just memorization of facts. In the Ottawa University Liberal Arts degree they have four breadth areas that are required for completion of their program. The breadth areas are as follows: Art/Expression, Social/Civic, Science/Description and Value/Meaning. Art/Expression According, to the official curriculum laid out by the school this category is that is highly concentrated in being capable of expressing self through art or speech. It spans from painting, to music, dance, language and communication. The manual’s description is, “how we express ourselves in spoken and written communication and the arts, looking at strengths, experiences, and new opportunities for challenge and growth.” Like, most people art has always been a part of my life. It followed me through my elementary school years to high school. I took ceramics, painting and woodworking 1, 2, 3, and 4 though my years in high...

Since, this is the first product that I have launched a general survey will be needed to get a general sense of the population. A marketing survey is a great way to help your team to grow and also for consumers to know that your product is going to be launched. This marketing survey will be needed to find out what consumers want in their laptops and generally where they buy their laptops. To add on, my survey will also give me information on the general income that the population has. The ever-lasting laptop with 10-year battery that I am releasing is generally for teens and adults. This is because; teens need computers to help them function in school and adults need laptops to make-work easier and quicker for them. The price that I will be selling my product for is $599.99. Outlook for Computer Support Specialist Within the Next 5-10 Years

...OUTLOOK FOR COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST WITHIN THE NEXT 5-10 YEARS Introduction Ever since I was a child I have always enjoyed working with computers and finding ways to solve problems. Whenever my family and I had computer problems we would hire computer specialists to fix our computers. Among those specialists was a busboy who worked at my family’s Thai restaurant; and on the side he operated a computer support store. Another specialist is a good friend of mine who works at Volkswagen as a computer support specialist; he has stopped by my house several times to retrieve corrupted files, reformat computers, in addition to adding more memory storage. I was always fascinated by his techniques. For example, he was able to fix my computer from his office while I was at home. Up until then I didn’t know that it was possible to view another person’s desktop from your own desktop. I am interested in becoming a computer support specialist also due to the fact that my parents’ Dearborn restaurant is still being operated in the old fashion way with a traditional cash register. The most irritating thing about operating a popular restaurant without advance technology is making mistakes on orders because they are hand written. In addition, calculating profit by hand is very tedious for the owner. In the past we have had employees steal money and throw away checks that were to be accounted by the end of the day. I feel that if my parents had the up to date advance technology equipment...

School Plant-School Furnitures and Other Facilities

...Implication of the Assigned Report to Education Prepared by: Maria Michelle L. Arevalo – MAED (EM) Topic: EM 203 - School Seats and Tables, Storage and Displays; School Equipment; Fittings, Fixtures and Furnishings; Instructional Devices The quality of a school’s environment and its facilities has a strong influence on students’ learning and this implication examines the school (First Crayons Learning Center, Antipolo City) where I’m presently employed and its importance to teaching and learning in the school system. It begins with a brief overview of our development site and plan, and relates it to educational planning. It has been observed that many schools are now paying more attention to their school plant. School plant which includes all educational facilities has been repeatedly found to have a positive relationship with quality of education. Education today is delivered in an entirely new manner, with new tools, techniques, teaching methods, and changes in teaching methods require changes in school facilities. As I went through my report, I can say that a school plant: * will gear up expected outcomes of education, that will facilitate good social, political and economic freedom; * initiates effective teaching and learning and academic performance of students; * is an essential aspect of educational planning because unless schools are well suited, buildings are satisfactorily constructed and equipment adequately provided, much teaching and learning...

Purpose of Higher Education

...Education plays a significant part of our livelihood. With the way how the world is advancing a higher education is a requirement. For example, working in the field of computer information technology one may seek a degree in Computer Science or a related subject. Without a higher education one may have some difficulties with being promoted within a company or being able to go forth in life as far as providing for their family. One may apply to college for various reasons, but the purpose of higher education is for a higher earning job, for self-improvement, and being a role model. Having a college degree one is likely able to obtain a high salary occupation. For example, the Virginia data reveal graduates from University of Richmond’s business administration program earned between $2,500 and $19,000 more than graduates in the same program from other universities in the state. Even more surprising, graduates of occupational/technical associate degree programs, with an average salary of just under $40,000, out-earned not only non-occupational associate degree graduates by about $6,000, but also bachelor’s degree graduates by almost $2,500 statewide. The report form Tennessee found that for nine of the state’s four-year public campuses, the average wage for graduates with a bachelor’s degree is $37,567. For graduates of the 13 community colleges, the average wage is $38,948, more than $1,300 higher than graduates at a four-year institutions Having a higher education...

Philosophy of Education

...Philosophy of Education Ruth Taylor University of Mary Washington, School of Education Introduction My thoughts and beliefs of the purpose of education is where my philosophy of education begins. I believe that the purpose of education is to ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities, are able to gain the knowledge necessary to be productive members of society. Although I believe that higher education is extremely important, there are a great deal of students that may never be able to attend any type of higher education institution. For these students, it is imperative that we as educators teach them the basic skills in order for them to be as independent as possible after their 13 years of formal education. As educators, I believe that most of us come into the profession because we want to make a difference in the lives of young people. Our students are the future of our world. They are the generation that will make a difference. We teach so that our students will be able to reach their highest possible potential in life. Since my primary focus is in the field of special education, I feel that I have a slightly different view on the purpose of education than do my regular education counterparts. My goal is to ensure that my students will have the skills needed to accomplish all of their dreams and goals, regardless of their academic abilities. We as a society learn so that we can be productive members of society and live within the societal norms...

Technolgy in the Classroom

...sound. It involves more than just inserting a computer into the classroom, and asking the class to research a topic. While this very well might be a task asked of the student; the teacher has far more to consider. Classroom integration involves such thing as the network environment, hardware and software and software tools, and how these things are used to benefit the lesson plan. Technology that is just thrown into the mix without a purpose and desired outcome can be counterproductive. This planning and understanding of the uses of technology in the classroom is what will be one of the biggest challenges in creating the best learning environment for my students. ENVIROMENT Technology integration begins with the hardware. Computers, projectors, laptops, tablets, whiteboards and other devices give me the tools I need to fold technology into the classroom. One of the biggest questions in this aspect is “How do I get information to the devices?”. This involves setting up a network to deliver information and the internet to the students. There are several ways to accomplish this with one using a hard wired network, and the other using a wireless network. Each has their own pros and cons that must be weighed. The hardwired network while offering a more stable environment also ties computers and peripherals to certain locations, and the required wires could become a tripping hazard. On the other hand a wireless network allows the computers and peripherals to be used around the classroom...

Statement of Purposs

...STATEMENT OF PURPOSE For I know the plans I have for u declares the lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give u hope and a future. I taught this is one of the plan that god has made for me. Electronics has always been an orphic subject for me. Electronics in its applications and technology was always an unanswered question for me. As I grew older the questions were answered but at the same time many new questions with more complexity started haunting me. This search for the answers aroused a passion towards Electronics and started exploring the developments and applications in electronics but that did not quench my thirst for knowledge. Then I could understand only a graduate education can offer me a great deal of intellectual and personal satisfaction and challenge. This is the main reason to plan my masters in Europe. The first two years of under graduate education was based on fundamentals of all engineering subjects. The next two years was a detailed study of electronics and communication subjects. Though all the subjects were different in their theories, all the subjects were interlinked in a few aspects. In these four years of graduate education, I gained in-depth understanding of the various techniques involved in problem solving, mainly to cater to the services of the industries. But all the years of my under graduation was totally based on theories and I didn’t encounter any platform for the application of those theories. I have always believed...
