...For those of you that don't know me my name is Brittany. I work at The Willows at Citation where I took care of Julia. For the short 3 months and 11 days that I knew Julia. I've learned something that no book could possibly ever teach me. On our Journey together I was constantly being moved and touched in ways that I often cannot describe. To live with Alzheimer's and still laugh, love and find joy is nothing short of amazing. I never got that chance to meet Julia when she was full of life and energy. Instead God blessed me with Julia on May 6th of this year. God had also blessed me with the ability to really connect with Julia. I spent many nights by her bedside, I've spent many hours listening, I've shared many tears with her daughter's and I've experienced many lifelong connections. Julia taught me the importance of living in the moment and finding joy in the small things. No two minutes were alike. Things were constantly changing and it put us on the wildest roller coaster ride imaginable. I must say it took a while and I'm sure I'm speaking for a few others when I say this but I came to realize that in order to survive, you must live in the moment and appreciate each and every good thing that happens, no matter how small. Sometimes you really have to dig deep to find the good in a lousy situation. The interesting thing is that bar is constantly moving. That thing that may have seemed completely insignificant a few months ago, can suddenly become the joy that gets...

...The short story called “My A`ntonia” is told from a fictional memoir named Jim Burden. Once you read about the author, Willa Cather, you get a better understanding of who Jim is and why he is there. Willa based many of the events, characters, and settings through her own childhood experiences. The story is written in first person because the story is focused on Jim’s perspective. The story is also written all in past tense. I feel Willa wrote her story in first person past tense logic because it revolves around her past memories that can never be regained. “My A`ntonia” starts off to be boring in my opinion. Once the reader has their full attention on the story, they start to grasp what is written between the lines, and the small hints that...

...The story focuses on the key events of the painting, the marriage between the Duke and the past Duchess, the possible murder of the Duchess and the yet to be new wife. The story being told is of the relationship between the Duke and former Duchess. Browning adopts numerous narrative techniques. Browning uses the form of a dramatic monologue to help the story progress. For instance 'That's my Last Duchess' shows that there is one speculator although there is an implied audience. The effect of this is that it shows that the poem tells a story that consists of much more than the words spoken by the one giving the monologue. To evaluate, the dramatic monologue makes it engaging with the reader. Additionally, Browning uses rhetorical questions as part of form to help tell the story. For example, 'Who'd stoop to blame..' is a clear example of the Duke trying to persuade his audience. The effect is that it reveals more about the Duke's character as the rhetorical question reinforces the impression that the Duke is haughty and self-important. To evaluate, Browning uses rhetorical questions effectively, revealing more about his character. Browning uses a lexical field of jealousy, ownership, artistry and love in order to aid the progression of the story. For instance, 'my Last Duchess painted on the wall' shows that the Duchess is objectified. The effect of this is that it allows the reader to sympathise with the Duchess and forces the reader to think of the Duke in a negative manner...

...My mother never wants me to get perm. It was a struggle loving something that I didn’t know how to take care of. My hair Play a major part for me growing up. I was bully, I felt outcast, and I didn’t feel beautiful. Why us black women scared to embrace our natural hair? Is it because we want to avoid the shame, pain, and discomfort of our beautiful locs. In the Apogee Journal, there is a short story called “When they ask about my hair” by Charnell Peters. The author uses flashback and Dialogue to describe her hair journey throughout her childhood and adult years. Not every woman is strong enough to embrace their natural roots. Peters argues that some of us are just scared of what others think of how we look. The short story prescribes that...

...FPT IS’s case Effect of the Decision and Reaction of People Hi every one! I’m Lien and now, I’ll tell you the effect of the decision made by FPT IS’s president and different attitudes towards it. As Binh has mentioned before, Mr. Do Cao Bao said that the aim of his decision that FPT IS’s employees are not allowed to take a nap in the work area is all to create an image of a more professional company, as we’re on the way to globalization. First, I need to say that this decision is not against the law. So do we consider it as a violation of CSR, or business ethics, especially responsibility to employees? Well, its impact on the employees was not as good as the president had expected. Although they still have break time at noon, the employees always suffer from the lights in their office so they found it very difficult for them to take a real rest. In the past all the lights were turned off during break time in order to bring a suitable environment for resting but now it’s changed, which leads to an unexpected effect that if people just want to close their eyes for 5 minutes, they still cannot relax and most of them choose to stick their nose to the computer to kill time. And in the afternoon, they’re so tired and sleepy that they yawn and yawn continually for how many times they cant count so that creates even a more unprofessional image of the company than before. And by before I mean the time when a foreign customer came and see the employees sleep IN THEIR BREAK TIME. ...

...1983 and have been raised by two great parents who have served in the church pastorate for thirty years now. I have one brother, about seven years older than I am. When I was still a baby, we moved to Hawaii where my Dad served as pastor for just under two years. I remember very little of my toddler years, and barely remember the next place we moved to, which was Grove, Oklahoma. I can tell you that we went from sunshine and beautiful weather to dodging tornadoes; one in particular literally jumped over the church we had taken shelter in when I was about three. Our family moved back to Tennessee to pastor where we lived in several different places. By the time I was eleven, we had just moved to Anchorage, Alaska where my father served as a pastor and as the state youth director. We lived there for four and a half years and to this day, it was one of my absolute favorite places to live. As a pastor's kid, I became the quintessential church brat. I lived, ate, breathed, and slept in the church. And just so you know, this was a literal situation; we actually lived in an apartment that was built into the back of the church. It was in Alaska that I first decided to follow Christ, encountered the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and where God confirmed the call of ministry on my life. The first sermon I ever preached was in Kotzebue, Alaska. I preached on Revelation where God is speaking to the church of Laodicea and urging them to be hot or cold. I remember it vividly because I used the...

...The Skeletal System Overview Can you imagine what the human body would be like if it were devoid of bones or some other form of supporting framework? Picture a "blob" utilizing amoeboid movement. Ugh! The skeletal system consists of bones and related connective tissues, which include cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Bone is a living tissue and is functionally dynamic. It provides a supportive framework for vital body organs, serves as areas for muscle attachment, articulates at joints for stability and movement, and assists in respiratory movements. In addition, it provides areas of storage for substances such as calcium and lipids, and blood cell formation occurs within the cavities containing bone marrow. The skeletal system consists of 206 bones, 80 of which are found in the axial division, and 126 of which make up the appendicular division. Many of the bones of the body, especially those of the appendicular skeleton, provide a system of levers used in movement, and are utilized in numerous ways to control the environment that surrounds you every second of your life. Few people relate the importance of movement as one of the factors necessary for maintaining life, but the body doesn't survive very long without the ability to produce movements. The study and review for this chapter includes microscopic and macroscopic features of bone, bone development and growth, location and identification of bones, joint classification, and the structure of representa tive...

...possible to combine my farming life with a Penn foster online degree. In a way, I guess I never had the faith in myself to accomplish a degree and do well at it. Upon starting my online associate degree in paralegal studies, I have come to learn things I never believed I could do. One has to take it upon them self to believe, want and achieve, I feel I am accomplishing this as I write. My life is a little easier than others as I do not have children, and I work and live on the same property, which makes travel time nil. Farming life can be hard work at times and much harder during harvest. Learning from Penn foster has taught me to be organized, positive, and determined to finish my studies and be successful in balancing life with study. It can be very hard and stressing sometimes trying to juggle 11 animals, an Apple and Cherry orchard, my home life as well as study. I believe that I must manage my time evenly with home, work and study. Studying online is great simply because I can study in my own home at my own pace. Living in the country can be quiet hard sometimes when it comes to driving and getting places, most places are more than 60 miles away. I find it easier to study at my own pace and in my own home. I am finding and learning many ways to manage my time and converse online. The Penn foster library is a great way to get resources and literature that is useful for my degree; this giving...
