(Identifying Statement) In NZ at the moment there is a bit of a debate going on between a Flag change in NZ, many pupils in NZ are wanting this Flag change to happen so that the Flag isn’t going to be the same as the Australians, but as per usual many pupils are wanting to keep the Flag just the way it is even if it is going to be the same as the Australians.

1. Many pupils of NZ are wanting a Flag change with the New Zealand Flag, however there are many residents of the NZ community who aren’t at all wanting this Flag change to happen. We could stop all of this chaos by sending out a survey to all New Zealand residents, this survey may contain many questions that all NZ people have in mind, (here are two questions that this survey may contain), ‘Do you want the NZ Flag to change?’ to ‘What would the new Flag look like?

2. If the New Zealand government decided to change the Flag of NZ, then would NZ happen to change to or will the residents of the community in the Country of NZ just stay the same but with a different flag. There would have to be many different options to consider as all pupils in NZ have different options, everyone of those pupils are wanting there option not anybody elses. So therefore if the Flag had the four best ideas from the community then there won’t be an argument so big and the community is getting what they want to and aren’t going to make a big fuss over nothing from just a Flag change. A Flag change isn’t a big deal it is just a change of a Flag.

3. The Australian Flag is a similar Flag to NZ and so if we were to change our Flag then the Aussie’s would have a Flag to themselves that looks more Australian and NZ would have a Flag that looks more like a Flag of NZ. The Government don’t actually know the cause for who had the Flag first. If New Zealanders had the Flag first then realistically Australia should have to change their

My Aproach to Writing

...Yessenia Amaya My approach to writing I have many goals for my English course, and one of those goals is to get into the habit of writing more. By getting into the habit of writing more I am going to accomplish my second goal which is to fix my spelling and grammar. For example learn where to put my commas and periods and learn how to spell words I don’t really use. Another major goal I have for this course is to learn how to target my audience, learn who my audience is and write to the appeal of that audience. My final goal and the most important goal I have for this course is to get an A+. My plan is to try and hand in everything on time and not miss a class. I hope I can accomplish these goals. I also always set up goals when writing an academic paper. For example, I try and get the least grammar spelling errors as possible. I also set goals to finish my papers a paper a certain time so I have time to proofread and revise my paper. And the most important goal I set when I write is to hand in my paper on time. With these goals I hope to get a better grade. I have many challenges when I write. My biggest challenges when writing for others is trying not to have many grammars and spelling errors, but I always do. Another challenge I have is that I don’t know if I’m getting through to my audience or not. I’m also always concerned if I’m giving enough information to the person I’m writing to, in other words being informative. And my biggest challenge might be that the...

My Relationship With Writing

...The hate side of my relationship with writing stems from school. This is because most of the writing assessments dont allow me to have creative freedom. 9 times out of 10 we have to write about something like why we love school (we don't) or sometime you had to do something specific that you can't remember ever doing. And then when you get to write something that has a plot instead of a 5 paragraph essay about why school shouldn't be start earlier, you have to write from a prompt that sounds like something you would find in a children's story contest. I understand why we are given prompts, i just wish we could have more creativity with them instead of writing with a specific prompt. That is why i partly hate writing. The love side of my...

My Approach to Writing

...My Approach to Writing By: Michael Czeczeli My goals for this course are fairly simple. My biggest goal for this course is to learn how to write a paper and get my point across without going overboard with run- on sentences and un-needed info. In my career field it’s going to be very important to be able to get my point across with minimal errors and mistakes. Another goal of mine is to learn to overall like writing. When I first started school I couldn’t stand writing papers or sending emails, but since that is the biggest line of communication today I need to learn to love it. I plan on using my writing in many different ways. One major way I plan on using writing is sending emails and letters to customers and employees at work. I hope to be a General Manager or at least Assistant General Manager of a major company or corporation after graduation. I plan to also use my writing throughout my college career. My college career is looking to be a long one since I plan to continue until I receive my masters’ degree in business. A really big use of my writing will be helping my daughters as they journey through school over the years to come. When I set out to write an academic paper I usually set a few goals for myself. The major goal for me is to insure that the reader gets all the information that is intended for them. I want to make sure that they fully understand where I’m coming from without drawing it out too much. Sometimes I have problems with run-on sentences...

My Writing Reflection

...working harmoniously with my hand’s every movement, signifies the constitution of a composition. Throughout my freshman year, sounds of my fingers drumming the keyboard has filled up my days, but it’s not just about how my essays were written on a computer. It is about how these repeated actions developed who I am as a writer, along with the quality of my work. I truly believe my writing has blossomed this year because I have finally imposed a step-by-step process of writing that works for me. In addition, I was able to fully connect with the literature I read, resulting in the reveal a new writer’s personality within me. Moreover, I am beginning to understand the piecemeal writer burgeoning inside me throughout the essays I have written in english class and how it has shaped my compositions through the different strategies I took, style, and organization. Writing essays in the beginning of the year was somewhat troublesome, to be honest, because my style, organization, and strategies for writing, were a complete mess. As a result...

My Views on Writing

...young girl, I always loved trips to the library throughout my school years. Though I enjoyed reading and the joys it brought to me, I could not begin to imagine writing in any of the books I read. I often imagined writing the suspenseful, and exciting stories that I read and in time; I got the chance to try and do so. The writing process for me was a little more difficult than I had ever imagined. As I began writing the pieces necessary for my English classes as a young adult, I soon realized that there was more to writing and jotting down words on a piece of paper for an assignment. As a developing writer, I knew very little in the beginning, I am very aware now that writing a paper indeed takes a great amount of time and requires a lengthy process in order to write an exceptional paper. There were definitely a lot of wrongs, before I learned right, but I now can say that I have gradually developed the ability to write, organize and prepare a paper whenever needed. The most important part of the writing process to me, would have to be the editing process. Along with editing, there is revision, which is a crucial process to developing an exceptional paper. The editing and revising process of writing is crucial to the writer and the reader because with incorrect grammar, sentence structures, punctuation etc., it is not only difficult for the reader to understand, but for the writer as well if the reason they are writing cannot be understood the way it was intended. Based upon experience...

My Writing Reflection

...Throughout this past semester, I have learned more about writing. This has brought on a whole new style in my writing. The beginning of this semester was not ideal, how assignments were written on the papers were confusing. My first assignment in this class was not my best grade and definitely showed my confusion. Without a doubt, that continued to occur in almost every assignment. However, the essays that truly contributed to my newer depth in writing were the Three-Source Synthesis Essay, Research Paper, and this final essay. To begin, I would like to say, the synthesis essay was one of the hardest essays I have ever written. Finding the comparisons between three similar yet completely different articles was not easy. I had spent around 70 hours on this particular essay and even turning it in was nerve wrecking. Yet, this paper helped me improve my writing style greatly by pushing me to actually complete the essay. I had to learn how to find sources using the libraries website. To be truthful, using the libraries website was the most difficult part of finding reliable sources. The second essay that really pushed me was the research paper. I found plenty of sources but had the hardest time arranging them into essay formatting. Another difficult part of this essay that had helped influence my writing style was finding the...

My Progress in Writing

...understanding English when talking to others. Writing an essay was almost impossible for me to think of. Realizing how difficult it was to experience these linguistic difficulties, I then decided to go back to school to improve my English skills. Therefore, English became especially essential for me to succeed in my educational goals. I was determined to earn an Associate’s degree then transfer to a university for a Bachelor’s degree. I started going to ESL classes and studied English very hard to make progress in my speaking, reading and writing skills. After spending one year in ESL classes, I qualified for English 43. I learned lots of grammar and how to write paragraphs efficiently during these classes. I noticed that writing an essay was more challenging when I got into English 49. However, since then I’ve learned how to write a five-paragraph argumentative essay which was one of my weaknesses in academic writings. I have made a lot of progress in writing skills since I started studying English 49. I now think that I’m ready to go on to English 101 due to the fact that I have learned useful strategies to follow a writing process and develop coherent paragraphs effectively. A writing process is the most important step that I learned in this class. First of all, before writing a complete essay, I need to come up with the pre-writing which consists of free writing and brainstorming. I found this step essential because free writing helps me find as many supports and examples...

My Writing Subject

...Most children grow up writing tales about dragons, princesses, and candy islands with lemonade seas, riddled with grammatical errors and misspelled words. The power of imagination spilled out of child’s brain simply by putting pencil to paper – or wall. Of course, many years later my writing has evolved from writing about chocolate rivers to less imaginative essay about what an author meant by “the sky is blue”. Writing has never been my favorite subject in school, however with an eleventh grade English teacher, I learned to tolerate it. My mother taught me almost everything I know about writing; what my teachers failed to teach me at school, my mother taught me at home. She has made sure I have written every essay, personal statement or research...

Problems With My Writing

...with writing stories. At the beginning of the week, I would always have to write a story that fitted the assigned prompt. My teacher would always give each of us a blank paper, so that I was able to make plan out what I was going to write. On the blank paper, I wrote down an abbreviation called BME. The letter B in my outline stand for the beginning of the prompt. Next, the M in my outline would stand for the middle of the writing essay. The teacher also read to us the instruction of the prompt. One of the examples of the instructions were “Make sure to proofread your essay for grammar or spelling errors. Towards the end of the writing prompt, I tried to make sure that I proofread my story before turning it in. After turning my paper, I forgot about the paper for the rest of the day. Instead of thinking about writing, I would always want to be outside, climbing on the monkey bars or compete with other students by swinging the highest height on the swing set. On Fridays, the teachers would send us to in a group of three other students. In these groups, we read out loud our stories. As soon as we got done reading our stories, the teachers would give us advices on what we should the next time we have as assigned prompt to write. Most of the time, my teacher...

My Writing Reflection

...I face a lot of challenges when it comes to creating an acceptable paper. I have a negative outlook on my writing, I write a lot of cliche things, fragment sentences are my weakness, my vocabulary is poor, and I over think what is wanted from what I write. Struggling with this introduction, for instance, is one of my major weaknesses. A lot more work goes into it than there seems. I have to think “Did I capture the attention? Does my audience know where I’m going with this paper? Is it enough to make them curious to read more?” In the beginning of the semester, my introduction basically went straight into the paper like it was the first body paragraph. It was a confusing surprise. I’ve since worked on my introductions so they give more explanation toward the overall reason for the paper. Even if it’s not the best you’ve ever read, I’m more aware of why it’s not and that there are ways to strengthen it. I’d like to believe because of how self-aware I...

Journey of My Writing

...The journey of my writing Writing is a beautiful thing. There are like rainbows rare majestic and transparent. Good writing is rare and majestic because the reader understands exactly the point of view that the writer is trying to convey. They are also transparent because the writers meaning can be hidden through symbolism, irony or even syntax. However good writing is a process just like anything else. It takes time to tone your skills and develop your writing. My writing is no exception. There are many things I need to develop. It has considerably grown from when I first started writing in 4th grade till now. My first writing was a fictional story we had to come up with. IU wrote about being trapped on an island that was surrounded by sharks. It sounds pretty easy however it was not. My story did not flow throughout for example as I crashed down and swam towards the island there were sharks. There is no transition from the crash to sharks. For a 4th grader trying to write a simple story was hard.I was a beginner in wrting. Many teachers were surprised at my writing skill. I was a bookworm and was well above my reading level. Being able to read high level was suppose to increase your writing skills or that’s what I believed. But that did not happen to me. The teachers and myself kept asking how can I be such a good reader but not a good writer. That question used to mistify me, I could not figure out the answer for that. I kept reading higher level books and still that...

My Writing Experience

...My Experience One thing that I learned about my writing from this project is that I can write a story or form a plot without needing an aspect of romance in my writing. In fiction I have written on my own, I have noticed an overwhelming theme of relationships just developing, but not necessarily needing to be in there. A lot of plots that I have developed have needed it, but this story is one in which I knew that there was no point for the character to have a relationship with anyone really, and I knew that it would be a challenge for me to keep that out. Additionally, I worried that I would write too much, but each time that I tried to add something in after I had completed the story, it felt too forced and made the story feel choppy and...

Writing in My Field

...Taylor Hutson Dr. Dennis Winston English-104 13 October 2015 Writing in My Field Radio expands far beyond the bounds of hip-hop, rhythm and blues, and pop music streamed from countless stations across the nation. It is much more than mundane news, traffic and weather updates and is not limited to sports broadcasts. Much like a painted canvas radio paints a mental masterpiece, filled with life stories, musical applications and paired with contextual reporting and analysis. For me, radio grasps my mind from the familiar confines of the world around me and places me in a world far beyond anything that I have actually experienced. Accounts of how a French scuba diver nearly drowned to death in a pursuit to save the life of another diver followed by the scary reality of death among the lives of senior citizens in hospice care are only some of the many intriguing stories that inspire me write for radio broadcasting. “How A Woman’s Plan to Kill Herself Helped Her Family Grieve” written by Alex Spiegel is another story that specifically captures the listener within the confines of its broadcast. Sandy Bem had Alzheimer’s disease—a disease that corrupts the mind’s capacity to remember important family members, read, and write. This disease left Sandy feeling helpless and depressed, later causing her to “commit” suicide—assisted suicide.
