Many applications insulate themselves from failures by checkpointing. For many applications, checkpointing into a shared single file is most convenient. With such an approach, the size of writes are often small and not aligned with file system boundaries. Unfortunately for these applications, this preferred data...

UDOM- Study Material 2013-14 Page 1 CH 111: General Chemistry Dr. Ananda M Preface The importance of learning chemistry cannot be overemphasized. In this regard, all branches of chemistry contribute to the overall role that chemistry plays in daily life. The course content of CH 111 is designed to bridge the gap between the high school and the undergraduate chemistry, with respect to some fundamental topics in chemistry for first year chemistry students. This compendium will be helpful to the students, due to its relevance to the course content and will promote better understanding of the subject matter. It is intended to enable students to achieve the learning objectives and learning outcomes of CH 111 by being a quick reference to learners. The author of the compendium has presented the contents in a simplified manner by using various illustrations, including structures, tables, figures, and other relevant information to help the learner understand easily. This compendium will, to greater extent, help in understanding the basic concepts in chemistry. Dr. J.J. We carried out this study to examine the effect of rating scale categories (RSC) on reliability and fit statistics of the Malay Spiritual Well-Being Scale using Rasch model. Methods The Malay Spiritual Well-being scale (SWBS) with the original six and newly introduced three and four rating categories (RSC) was distributed randomly among three different samples of 50 participants each in different community screening programs at in Selangor state , Malaysia. Results The mean age of respondent in the three samples ranged 36-39 year, majority was females in all samples, and Islam was the major religion of respondents. Malay race was predominating followed by Chinese then Indian. Most participants were employed and more than a half in all...

Six years later they outnumbered pulled rickshaws. Cycle rickshaws were found in every south and East Asian country by 1950. By the late 1980s there were estimated 4 million cycle rickshaws in the world. Rickshaw is the most popular mode of transport in Bangladesh and are available for hire throughout the country. Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh is known as the "Rickshaw Capital of the World". They were introduced here about 1938 and by the end of the 20th century there were 300,000 cycle rickshaws in Dhaka.
