1st Week of June I was very excited that finally I can have my OJT because after finishing all my back subjects “and yes, I am a irregular student back then” in my imagination having an OJT is a piece of cake because of my previous work experiences and the fact that I was expecting to receive an allowance from my training ground, but all went wrong, because it is not an easy job. On my first day of my training I was oriented by Mrs. Tria Cabigting the Shift Manager of Shakey’s Pizza Parlor Ermita. At first I thought that she was a very strict manager because she wants that everything is perfect. So as a trainee I feel a little bit nervous to her.

Before I was introduced to our designated department, One of the Restaurant Captain from the Back of House, Mr. Jasyon Vargas, oriented me about the company rules and regulations. They also introduced me to those Staffs who where on shift that day. To start with my work, Mrs. Tria Cabigting assigned me at the Back of House (BoH) as a Scullery. I was excited to know that most of the BoH Stations in Shakey's so most of the time even if I’m full with my task I get to have the free time to ask them every stations functions and responsibilities so that I prepare myself for future purposes.

During my first week in Shakey’s, I can really feel the pain in my whole body, because I feel exhaustion after my shift. But I pursue to continue to have my OJT because it is for my own good.

Ms. Emily assigned me at making the pizza which is pretty cool for me because I really want putting toppings in the pizza. At first it is quite hard for me because I don’t know the flavors of the pizza yet. Kuya Hammer and Kuya Jason are the one who taught me what toppings that to be put in a certain flavor of the pizza and its standard amount, like mozzarella cheese, ham, pineapple, etc.

Some might waste it but when they see how our mothers gave all there effort just to bring each and everyone of us in this world, they might be fighting with their conscience.” This is what I learned from this rotation.
