United States is a very diverse country with a various population containing different religions, cultures and values. Each single culture has its own traditions, celebrations and festivities. Last night I went to a Hindu temple to observe ‘Narvatri’ festival. Navratri, is a festival of love and dance. The actual word Narvatri can be interpreted as nine nights. The festival is going on for nine nights during September or October established by the old Hindu calendar. There are various folktales attached to the conception of Narvatri and all of the Indian festivals are related to Goddess Shakti and her various forms. I understood that these girls have been coming to the temple for eight nights already, celebrating Narvatri and trying to keep their traditions and values, however they also felt tired and malnourished, as they were finishing up the eight day.
