Motivation is a psychological aspect that provokes any human being to look and work for his/her desired goal and to satisfy the inner self. Employee motivation is an essential key for the success of the company and most importantly for the improvement and progression of the employee himself.

I will put myself in a top manager’s shoes, and try to figure out to motivate my staff. We know that motivated staff work better and harder because of the positive motivation philosophy followed. I would start with ensuring a good or great environment to work in. I would try to make sure the place they are working at is clean and up to everyone’s expectation. I would provide them with all needed and right equipment like clean and good laptops, enough stationery or any required tools.

Moreover, effective and relevant training is extremely vital for the staffs’ satisfaction as well as a great motivator. I would try to keep my employees up to date with any new technologies, software and technical skills. This will encourage the employees to give more and make him/her feel that the management is keen and concerned with their improvement and productivity. Also, I will definitely define their career path within the company as the latter is so essential for their future.

In our nature as human beings, we would like to feel we are needed in the company we are working at, rewarded or appreciated and definitely valued. This can be highly supported by listening to the team and make them feel they are part of the decisions taken. I will make sure always to listen to my team and understand their opinions from their own perspectives. Sometimes a manager doesn’t agree with his/her team’s ideas, but he/she has to bring up a constructive argument to be aware of the reasons beyond their opinions. Most of the times, the employees’ ideas are new to the manager and certainly beneficial to the strategy and success of the company.

Last but not least, paying attention to the employees’ performance and recognizing their efforts would be a huge motivator to them. I would make sure I review their work regularly and give back my feedback to make them identify both areas of strength and weaknesses. I will try to reward them in any way possible such as a congratulating phone call, offer of training course, gift voucher or even a good bonus.

Finally, staff motivation can be reached via many tools; a good manager has to pick up the right tool for the right employee. Again, staff motivation is best for both the company and the employee as it improves productivity, quality and service altogether combined to reach the ultimate success of the whole company. It helps people achieve their goals, build self-esteem and have the power to change and develop.

Nathalie Vienne-Guerrin's The Merchant Of Venice

...Nathalie Vienne-Guerrin, an English professor, says in her literary criticism "You have rated me: Insults in The Merchant of Venice" that the insults in Shakespeares Merchant of Venice are unfunny, uncreative, and unsettling due to racism. While insults are fun and entertaining in other plays, such as Much ado about Nothing or A Midsummer Night's Dream, Vienne-Guerrin explains that she finds the insults in The Merchant of Venice boring and can not possibly be funny. Firstly, she believes insults in Shakespeares plays to be, "...are paradoxical words that are offensive and yet entertaining, that they only seem to be bad words but are actually a good theatrical and artistic material." When she reads Shakespeares other plays, she typically is...

The Art of Persistence

...“April Kudson!” shouted the police officer, loudly and carelessly ticking off the roll call. The sounds of juvenile prisoners screaming in anger, kicking on the concrete walls in frustration and the banging on the hard, cold metal bars started echoing in the gloomy hallways. April couldn’t catch her breath, “How could my life come to this? Seventeen years of trying to survive in misery and i ended up in this hell-hole.” Her head was spinning, blood rapidly rushing to her head all at once. She felt a firm hand wrapped around her neck tightly, “Getting released today, huh? Well here’s my present, happy birthday bitch!” screamed a girl, jealousy in her eyes and flared nostrils like a true savage. Five against one, bulky girls with tattoo sleeves all crowded April, pounded and kicked her until she was choking on her own blood, wounds gushed out pain, anger, humiliation. The police officers aggressively pried and tackled the girls off April. Sadly enough this was the least amount of torment she had felt in years. April was finally released that very same day, 18th of September. Stepping out into the sun, feeling the heat, sending a satisfying shiver down your spine, that should feel liberating but all she could feel was remorse and the scorching sun burning her skin. And there she was, the devil herself, Mrs. Hornburg, of all the people in West Virginia she had to be the head of Greenwood orphanage. She gave a coy smirk as she saw April coming down, her dark brown hair blowing in...

...classes at ACC, she described the significance of the Balcones prizes. A teacher from the English department took the stage next to talk a little more about the Balcones prize. He pointed out that Natalie Diaz was the sixteenth winner of this prize. He described Ms. Diaz as a woman with her foot “in three different worlds.” Her childhood was spent on the Mojave reservation in the California Desert. She attended college in Virginia on a basketball scholarship, and from there she played professional basketball in Europe and Asia. After injuring her knee, she left basketball to study poetry in graduate school. Therefore, he claimed, she has a foot in the worlds of the reservation, basketball and poetry. With that, he welcomed Nathalie to the stage. Nathalie jumped into reading her poem, “When My Brother Was an Aztec.” I was shocked to hear the bitterness and resentment in her voice as she describe her brother as a nasty and careless force which had destroyed her parent lives. Her disgust with brother’s drug use, violence and fancy for prostitutes was a theme that permeated much of her poetry. For example, in another poem, she portrayed her brother knocking on her mother’s door, terrified that the devil was hiding just around the corner of a neighbor’s house. Ms. Dias also mentioned that her brother had broken her parents’...

...Chanel ------------------------------------------------- Top of Form Bottom of Form * Born: August 19, 1882 in Saumur, France * Died: January 10, 1971 in Paris, France * Nationality: French * Occupation: Fashion designer Legend. Coco Chanel once declared, "Legend is the consecration of celebrity," and no other fashion designer in history has exceeded either Chanel's celebrity or her legend. She was a fiercely independent lover of dukes, industrialists, and artists; a confidante of many of the creative geniuses of her day—among them, writer Jean Cocteau, painter Pablo Picasso, ballet impresario Sergei Diaghilev, and composer Igor Stravinsky; and a self-created image of the free-spirited "new woman" of the 1920s. Through her personal example and the fashion empire she established, Chanel launched and sustained the movement toward simplicity, practicality, and unfussy elegance in women's clothing. "A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion," she said, and by the early years of the 1920s, Chanel fashion had reached streets throughout Europe and the United States. Early Life. Chanel both obscured and embroidered upon the facts of her early life; as one of her biographers declared, "She was herself a Chanel creation." Though she claimed to have been born in Auvergne in 1893, records show that she was actually born in the poorhouse of the town of Saumur ten years earlier. Her mother, a poorhouse employee, and her father, an itinerant tradesman, were...

...precious hands. It’s like He is my Director, and I am his Actress. It was in the year 1995, at exactly 4:30 in the afternoon of December 15 when another baby girl was born at the Matilde Memorial District Hospital at Camalaniugan, Cagayan. The only daughter of farmer Pablito Valiente Ordillo and teacher Necitas Morales Ordillo. The newborn was named Paulyne Nathalie. And that cute little baby is no less than, ME! Well, my life started when my mom gave birth to me that very hour of December 15. She said that they were so glad when the doctors told them that she had delivered a normal baby girl knowing that I was already a menopausal baby. According to some, menopausal babies can only be one of the two options; it’s either a gifted one or an autistic one. Well, thanks God I was born normal… some says, the gifted one.  My name, ‘Paulyne Nathalie’ was given by my mom. ‘Paulyne’ was the combination of the English translation of my father’s name which is ‘Paul’ and my mom’s first two initials ‘Ne’ joined by the Spanish word ‘y’ which means ‘and’, thus, making my name very unique which stands for PAUL and NE. My other name, ‘Nathalie’ means ‘a Christmas gift ‘. My mom said that I was the most perfect Christmas gift they have received that special year. Lucky me! I belong to a ‘ONE, BIG, HAPPY’ Family with my dad as my SUPERMAN and my mom as my WONDERWOMAN. I feel so proud and contented to have them as my own. My dad is a farmer and we somehow own a little farm and orchard in the province...

Reusable Shopping Bags

...People Need to Use Reusable Shopping Bags In some areas of the United States people are given the choice to bring in and use their reusable bags or to pay for the convenience of using the store provided paper or plastic bags for their purchases. Some people find reusable bags as an inconvenience, especially if they do not have one on hand for times they need to pick up a couple of items from a store. Reusable bags can be small enough to have on one’s person. The use of reusable shopping bags reduces the waste of plastic store bags in landfills and water systems. There can be a compromise; some stores offer the reusable bags at the checkout area of the store offering credit to the consumer, as well as offering promotions in support of using the reusable shopping bags. One major cause for promoting reusable shopping bags is to reduce our carbon footprint. The importance of reusable shopping bags is they are convenient and will help our planets environment. The problem with not using the reusable bags is that you may be faced with a decision at the store checkout register of being charged for the use of the stores plastic or paper bags for your items. If you choose not to purchase the stores bags, then you as the customer would have to carry your products out of the store by hand. In the past people have been used to having the convenience of using the store provided plastic recyclable bags and then just throwing them away. Little did people know what the store...

...Christopher Saddler Assignment 4 Writing and Humanities Kate Chopin born in 1850 and passing in 1904 is a very talented writer that has wrote numerous short stories that have gained attention in classrooms and by readers for many years and many years to come. "Perhaps it is better to wake up after all, even to suffer; than to remain a dupe to illusions all one's life." These such quotes serves as a template for the witting style of the talented writer. Many people have stated they believe she foreshadowed future events in her writing, it is amazing that she had the knowledge and wisdom of the future in the 1880’s. She started writing due to the deaths of the people she loved to help cope as a therapeutic method for coping with significant loses in her life. She lost her father and step father at a young age, and she also lost her step brother and husband during these trying times. Two years after her fathers' death, Kate returned to the Academy of the Sacred Heart . During this time Kate met a girl named Kitty Garesche who she then befriended and started to write with on a constant basis, but was suddenly separated from her due to the civil war in St. Louis when Kitty’s family was banished for their Confederate sympathies. Kate most definitely was the poem and the poet. She was known for living her life the way she wanted and wrote about the things that she felt. This is what led many people to get lost into her stories, and feel a sense that they were there...

...Financial Managment – First Investments, Inc.: Analysis of Financial Statements Team 4: Nathalie Strookman, Dieter Wolfram, Demis Busropan Background Problem Definition The 1994 Basic Industries annual report shows a decline in the return on owners’ equity. This has got the portfolio people worried. An analysis has to be made of the way the company has achieved its return on equity over the last 10 years. The focus should especially be on the 1993-1994 period and the quality of the returns on equity of 1985 and 1994 should be compared, as well as other key financial ratios. By doing these financial analysis we hope to find out why the return on shareholders’ equity is varying in time. {draw:frame} {draw:frame} {draw:frame} Results {draw:frame} {draw:frame} {draw:frame} Analysis In order to analyze the company’s financial performance, we make use of financial ratios; leverage ratios to show how heavily the company is in debt; liquidity ratios how easy cash can become available; efficiency ratios to measure the productive use of the assets; profitability ratios to measure the return on investments. This is done for the period 1985-1994 where possible, and the total analysis can be found in the added excel file. 1985-1994 {draw:frame} If the operating profit margin increases than every sales gives you more money which results in a higher return on equity. If the asset turnover increases, more sales are generated for every unit of asset and the...

Would you care what she told me? "Stop bothering me! Can’t you see? I had to dress up for my mahjong session, some other time my child". I turned to my father to console me, but, what a wonderful thing he told me. "Child, here’s 500 bucks, get it and enjoy yourself, go and ask your teachers that question". And in school, I heard nothing but the echoes of the voices of my teachers torturing me with these words. "Why waste your time in studying, you can’t even divide 100 by 5! Go home and plant sweet potatoes". I may have the looks of Audrey Hepburn, the calmly voice of Nathalie Cole. But that’s not what you can see in me. Here’s a young girl who needs counsel to enlighten her way and guidance to strengthen her life into contentment. Honorable judge, friends and teachers…is this the girl whom you commented a juvenile...
