In John Winthrop’s Speech to Massachusetts General Court, Winthrop made a couple distinctions between the natural liberty and civil liberty. First, Winthrop point out that natural liberty is common among people, where it means that people have the freedom to do what they desire, but such freedom is also unstable when dealing with authority. As people put natural liberty into practice, it affects people negatively by turning people more evil by their abuse use of power.
