Identify and decribe the Kinship of culture in Chapter 3 and 4?

I chooseto write about San culture in Chapter 3 of our text book their culture is similar to Foraging culture they hunt and gather food for an living .Thye lived in rainforest and not worrying about where their next meals comes from they even share food with others. One thing about about their culture durning spare times they get together an do activites with kin enjoying one another and the women goes out in their spare time laughing with one another just doing things togther.

Briefly describe the culture identify their specific examples ofhow the kinship of the chosen culture impacts theyway the culture behave(think ,act , and lives)>

San culture thinks different they don't react to quickly they have an mind of their own .They have own ways of how things are done in their villages not worrying how it's done its like just do whatever it takes. They act on what the women knows especially when it comes down to hunting for food the women get the small animals and the men killed the main meats they need to eat.And being in this culture they help one another it doesn't take them all day to do things because they help each others. They lived in shelters that they build in one day from materials and locally to finished their shelters and built in one day.

Compare this to your society?

In the U.S. We as people has transportation to get from point A to point B an we can drive ourselves we have chioces in our culture .We lived in houses ,apartment, condos ,mobilehomes, campers, and some are homeless but one thing about our culture we are free to spepak and do whatever we want to do.And another thing we can marry same-sex marriage in some states but some states does'nt allow it.But with the marriage of the San are prohibition aganist marrying any relatives a second cousin or closer but in our culture you are not allow to marry relatives in US.Another thing about learning from the San culture they share with each other but we doesn't hardly do in our culture they enjoy their kins company but we sometimes just it into arguments and talking about each other an not caring.

Does kinship impact these same behaviors in your own life? Why or Why not?

No not really because in our society we don't worry about others unless you have an good heart or you have Jesus in your life. When I see the different in the way the San live d and the way ee lived we call people Homeless in The US an we look over people like that but I considered that it could be me and doesn't know what made them to be homeless .We look down on people and not knowing what made them to go that way as being poor, or without ,and not asking them can I help you some people don't asked in our society somme but not many.

The Nayar of India

...Nayar: The Misunderstood Society The Nayar of India is made up of numerous castes of a society still based off of many old traditions. This specific society has drawn much attention and controversy over issues of marriage and kinship. However there are other intriguing aspects of their culture such as descendant lineage, religious beliefs, and methods of healing. Most recently studied aspects of social and economic organization further fascinates anthropologists to attempt to answer “who are the Nayar?” There are many different ways in which a society can structure itself in order to ensure its’ survival. In past times, the Nayar would be described as being foragers, that is, people who hunt animals and gather plant life for subsidence. As time went on, populations grew which resulted in a change in social structure. With a need for increased food and resources, many foragers turned into horticulturists. Permanent settlements were established and plants were intentionally grown through the use of agricultural activities. Like many other societies, the Nayar followed a path similar to this which led to the formation of a state. As defined, “a state is a polity with a centralized government and the power to collect taxes, draft men for labor and work, and make and enforce laws for communities within its territorial borders” (Carneiro, 1970). But that doesn’t completely explain why the Nayar are considered a state. To do this, we can look at specific traits that can be...

The Nayars of India

...THE NAYARS OF INDIA Name ANT 101 Instructor: Date THE NAYARS OF INDIA The Nayar are a group of castes in the South Indian State of Kerala. Historically, the Nayars were a warrior clan and served as militia to the small feudal kingdoms in the region. Apart from most men being away for the wars for a large part of the year, the primary activity of those left behind was farming and the caste is classified as being emerging agriculturalist. The staple diet of the Nayars is rice, and was supplemented by vegetables, fish, chicken and buffalo meat. The research will show the cultural setting of the Nayars and the relationship between the subsistence and the cultural aspects like beliefs and values, economic setting and kinship. Until the 13th century, Nayars were a warrior clan and sustained themselves through militaristic activities and conquest. It was through such activities that Nayar land lords became owners of large pieces of land. The subsistence of Nayars from 14th century onwards was chiefly through rice cultivation. The Nayars Tharavads owned large pieces of land that were given away to tenants of lower castes for cultivation. A large number of males were usually away for wars for extended periods of the year. The subsistence food of rice was supplemented by vegetables, eggs, fish, poultry, beef and goat meat. However the higher ranked...

Globilization

...(2012) states that, essentially globalization began with the exploration and settlement of new lands. Communication and transportation advances have aided in this process. Two non-Western countries that have been impacted by globalization are India and China. India opened its doors to globalization during the 1990's following an economic crisis in which the country almost defaulted on loans (Balakrishnan, n.d.). Before globalization India purposely isolated itself from world markets and was in a state of economic stagnation (Nayar, 2007). This stagnation left the country in profound poverty with no industrial growth. The people of India faced other challenges as well such as illiteracy, government corruption, and malnutrition (Wikipedia, 2013). In the years since globalization industrial growth has occurred at a rate of about 6.5 percent that has thwarted any reoccurrence of economic decline and a poverty rate at 26 percent that had previously been 55 percent (Nayar, 2007). China too, has benefited from globalization. In 1978, Deng Xiaoping established leadership of China. Unlike Mao Zedong, Xiaoping embraced globalization and demanded economic change that he believed would ensure the safety of communist rule (Yahuda, 2003). Like India, the people of China lived in poverty before globalization occurred. In the 20 years since that time China has experienced a growth rate of over 9 percent and has become the 5th largest trading nation and has the 6th largest economy with millions...

Analysis of Leaders Innovation

...Analysis of Leaders in Innovation Introduction Innovation, is a term used to describe new ideas and new beginnings. One who introduced this concept to a failing organization, was an innovative leader named Vineet Nayar. In 2007, Nayar was named CEO of IT Services and Outsourcing Firm HLC Technologies. With his strategic vision and global outlook, he catapulted the then dismal firm into the leader of the organizational pack in a short amount of time. In the beginning of Nayar's 2010 article "A Maverick CEO Explains How He Persuaded His Team to leap into the Future”, he describes his appointment as President of HLC technologies as a “leap to safety.” (Nayar, 2010) It became apparent that there was something he needed to do to change the interface of this company. He began to create a vision, but knew that it would not take place without some major adjustments. Vineet formulated the” employee first, customer second approach” and took HCL to be one of the most successful IT outsourcing businesses in the world. Healthcare Management and Leadership

...Healthcare management and leadership Kerry A. Reyman HCS/325 August 27, 2014 Charlotte Stoudmire Healthcare management and leadership Managing employees and leading employees can be two in the same but often managers are not leaders. My view is that leaders are born and not taught. [In India, M.K. Gandhi inspired millions of people to fight for their rights, and he walked shoulder to shoulder with them so India could achieve independence in 1947. His vision became everyone’s dream and ensured that the country’s push for independence was unstoppable. The world needs leaders like him who can think beyond problems, have a vision, and inspire people to convert challenges into opportunities, a step at a time (Nayar, 2013).] In the military there are many requirements such as time in your position, time in the military, schools and physical fitness. I have said more times than I can count that just because you can run two miles in 13 minutes does not qualify a person to lead soldiers into combat. That statement can be changed slightly for the healthcare industry and will be applicable. Just because a person has a degree or certificate, does not mean that they are qualified to lead employees in a hospital environment. A person can be an effect manager and possess the ability to lead. Only the managers with the ability to influence as well will make the company, their subordinates and themselves a thriving success. In conclusion, having the ability and knowledge to lead and...

While doing business in one country along with knowing their culture it is also very important to know about their leadership pattern. It will help to manage their human resource well. If we go for a cross cultural analysis about the four given countries (Japan, United States of America, India and United Kingdom we will find varity and similarity in case of leadership issues along with other factors. Japan “Business leadership is at the core of Asian economic development”, says HBS professor D. Quinn Mills. The rapid economic development of Asia in recent decades is one of the most important events in history. Compared to western countries Asian countries always lag behind in case of resources, except one. And that was human resource. Japan realized that and converted it into their competitive advantage. In case of industrialization Japan stands in one row with many other developed countries in the world. How they reach this position to know that we have take a look in the inside of their organization. Leadership

...Example of Good Leadership EMPLOYEES FIRST, CUSTOMERS SECOND * SUBMITTED BY ANKIT HEGDE On July 15th 2010 the book ‘Employees First, Customers Second’ written by Vineet Nayar, CEO, HCL Technologies was launched, based on a unique management theory that turned conventional thought completely upside down. Mr. Nayar illustrated the journey that he and his employees at HCL took to change the conventional methods of management. The philosophy of Employees First, Customers Second was to bring about a drastic change of corporate culture, to empower employees, open up to transparency, reducing the power of managers and to ensure the value zone (employees) were equipped to make their magic happen (to build the business). He sought for a lot of “transparency” and “empowerment” in the company and stressed that “decisions would be made at the points where the decisions should be made”—that is, by employees, where the company meets the client. Ideally, he said, “the organization would be inverted, where the top is accountable to the bottom, and therefore the CEO’s office will become irrelevant.” The results – HCL growth story has been remarkable. It has been able to grow at 25% year on year basis even during the recession period. HCL was predominantly into BFSI sector, but they were able to diversify into various other domains. They had employees coming up with new measures. They shifted...
