1. I believe it’s important for HR to be a strategic partner for a business because HR recruits qualified employees, offer training to promote retention and engage with bosses and employees regarding many concerns. This day and age it’s important to hire employees with the correct requirements needed for their job. These requirements need to be in line with the current business activities so the company can improve business and grow its capacity. Employees who’ve been with the company for a long time need to be challenged and that could include upgrade training or new skills related to production work. This can help the flow of new work place ideas and keeps motivation growing at the employee level. Having a two way street of communication is important in this digital age. Employees need to feel they can approach HR about concerns and bosses need to ensure that their policies and guidance are being enforced. HR implementation is important because they’re the strategic planner that helps a company run smoothly and achieve set goals by proper management.
2. Employees derive many benefits from this arrangement by knowing that their HR is in a strategic business role. They ensure that all skills, human abilities and any knowledge are made known to leadership and that it’s driven to implementation. Employees would know that their retention and develop are important and necessary for the company to have team players. Development and direct employee communication would be one important responsibility for the HR team. HR’s will fully understand the business needs and goals of the overall organization and be prepared with a though strategy. This strategy from leadership can be trickled down to all employees so everyone is aware of the goals and workings of the company. Internal issues or problems can all be addressed and handled by the HR’s. Those problems affecting the business goals of the company would be addressed to leadership for solutions. Employees will get to know and trust their HR team because they touch on every department in the company. Employees will see success in completing plans, implementing important tactics and having a successful company with a strategic HR partner.
3. There could be many risks to the company like all creativeness is lost, communication is broken and trust worthiness is gone. The HR team needs to be outgoing and ensure that all creative ideas for improving the company by employees are heard and at least taken into thought. The show “Undercover Boss” comes to mind of CEO’s going undercover and finding out that employees are upset about communication or never heard back from anyone concerning an idea they had for the company. A good HR team can keep the communication channels flowing concerning shift changes, working overtime and listening to employee’s complaints. If that channel of communication was gone most employees would either be quitting or production would be extremely poor. Trust is earned and given, which means that it’s important that employees trust their HR team. If this trust never exists then employees would come to work and not believe anything being put out. Employees would have poor work attitudes and this could bring down the entire work force if no one trusted the person next to them. It’s important for employees to feel that they have a secured place to work, appropriate hours and a safe place to produce work at. If the HR department wasn’t a strategic partner then it would affect the entire work forces trust, retention for the company and employee morale.
