When I was fifteen I thought I was going to die before turning thirty, my parents split up when I was very young, and the most of my family was involved in some sort of crime. I actually once had to borrow money for bailing my own farther out jail. I also committed crimes, I was selling drugs and I was hanging out with a gang, this is no good life for a fifteen year old boy, so I backed away from a life of crime and won a sports scholarship to the university of Texas. Today I am an economics professor at Harvard university, and I did not die before turning thirty. So the questions we need to ask is, why are African-Americans so much less prosperous than whites? Why do so many black children fail at school? And why do so many black men end behind bars? Do racial discrimination still exists?
