This was a perfect definition of what jury nullification is. The question to now ask is do we agree with jury nullification or not and why? In order to answer that we would need to see what the pros and cons of jury nullification are and give some examples of jury nullification first. ...Formatting your paper in APA format If you format your paper correctly, you will show your reader that you care about your writing, it will be easier to read, and you will be more likely to pass. APA format requirements • • • • Title page o running head o page number o title of your paper o your name o your university affiliation Body pages o running head o page number References o running head o page number o citations in APA format All pages o 1" margins on top, bottom, left, and right o Double-‐spaces between sentences o No extra space between paragraphs o Times New Roman font, 12pt o Indents of .5 inches Formatting your assignments the right way Formatting can be frustrating if you do it incorrectly. Some students use the space bar instead of the tab key, and they use the return or enter button instead of allowing the program they are using to double-‐space automatically. This makes your paper look unprofessional, and it causes you more frustration...

...Here's what I am looking for (and perhaps more importantly what I don't want to see). First of all, you must follow, thoroughly and exactly, all of the precise directions in the "Response Paper Instructions" document, which can be found under Course Content > Assignment Instructions. There is no substitute for reading and following all of the Instructions there. After you have read that Instructions document, you can move on to consider what I share below. I want you to succeed. The following is to help you avoid some common mistakes and shortcomings I've seen from past students. Note the following dos and don’ts.... 1. DO stick with the outline in the Instructions: you could even turn the five questions into headings (and sub-headings if necessary). DON’T go down rabbit trails. Avoid peripheral issues. I do not want to see a general article on the existence of God, I want to see an article responding precisely to the points that were specified. 2. DO focus on understanding and applying the arguments and concepts in the course materials. DON’T just repeat arguments verbatim from the book. I want you to refer to the book in your answers, however I don’t want you to just copy an argument out of the book and feel like you answered the objection. Explain how this argument from the book answers this particular claim. 3. DO take the article seriously and treat all “sides”...

...But real revision is more than making a few changes here and there. Real revision requires that you open yourself up to the possibility that parts of your paper - and even your entire paper - might need to be re-thought, and re-written. Achieving this state of mind is difficult. First, you might be very attached to what you've written. You may be unwilling to change a word, let alone three or four paragraphs. Second, there is the matter of time: you sense that the paper needs major work, but it's due tomorrow, or you have an exam in physics, or you're coming down with a cold and know that you need to sleep. Third, you may have difficulty understanding what, exactly, is wrong with your paper. Finally, you might simply be sick and tired of your paper. How can you give it another go-through when exhaustion has you in its grip? Why should you be bothered with (or overwhelmed by) the process of revising? Of course, we might convince you that revision is worth the extra effort simply by saying that revising a paper will help you to achieve a better grade. A reader can sense when a piece of writing has been thoroughly considered and re-considered. This "consideration" (and here we mean the word in both of its meanings) is not lost on your professor and will be rewarded. But more important than grades is that revising your papers teaches you to be a better writer. Studies have shown again and again that the best way to learn to write is to rewrite....

...How to Make Charcoal from Paper By Karren Doll Tolliver, eHow Contributor Homemade paper charcoal briquettes can be used in backyard grills. Commercial charcoal for grilling food is expensive and can be harmful to the environment. However, industrious do-it-yourselves can make their own "charcoal" from newspaper. This reduces the amount of newspaper refuse as well as the amount of commercial charcoal consumed. In addition, no lighter fluid is needed with the homemade charcoal paper. Therefore, petroleum-based products are also conserved. Making your own charcoal takes only water and a washtub. The time spent forming the charcoal paper briquettes is negligible, although they need to dry for a couple of days in the sun. Things You'll Need • Washtub • Water • Old newspaper Instructions 1 Tear the old newspaper into pieces about the size of your hand or smaller. 2 Place all the torn newspaper pieces in the washtub. Cover with water and let sit for at least one hour. The newspaper will be ready when it is thoroughly saturated with water and is mushy to the touch. 3 Grab a large handful of the mushy newspaper. Form it into a ball about the size of a golf ball or ping pong ball, squeezing out as much water as you can. Repeat until all the mushy newspaper is in ball form. Discard the water. 4 Place the wet newspaper balls in the sun for at least two days. Do not let them get rained on. They must be completely dry and brittle. At this point they are ready for use in the same...

...Excellence said that my paper was 46% plagiarized, and that is a serious issue in the school laws. My teacher informed me that I will need to be changing my paper and summarizing it up into my own words. She explained to me the policy of the school and how serious the offense is of plagiarism. My peer review went well and I got a lot of positive feedback from it. She said that I touched on some good points in the paper and had some good counter arguments. She also stated that there were some parts that I should leave out, or maybe rewrite, because they may chase some of the audience members away. The way that I wrote it may be too harsh for someone that is suffering from the problem, so I may need to look into rewriting some particular areas. There were also some areas that she said her and many other people could relate to, because mostly everybody has a family member that is suffering from drugs. I would say the feedback I got will be useful to help me have a successful paper. • Explain what feedback you will incorporate and what feedback you will not incorporate into your paper. Include a rationale for your choices. The feedback I got from my peer review and my teacher will all be used in a positive way to help me have a very successful persuasive essay. All the feedback that I received will be helpful for me, and I will incorporate as much it as I can. To me no feedback is useless, unless someone is being bias and hateful towards you and your work. I did not see any of that coming...

...White Paper The Strategic Management of Projects The concept of Managing projects describes the organisation’s ability to select, nurture and deliver projects and programs effectively. The strategic capability to manage projects1 expands this general concept to include the direction of the organisation’s overall Project Delivery Capability (PDC) towards the achievement of its strategic objectives. The strategic management of projects includes all of the aspects of project delivery discussed in our white paper PDC Taxonomy2 (outlined below) focused on realising strategic value for the organisation. In many organisations, implementing an effective and rigorous PDC structure will require a major organisational change effort and will challenge existing cultures, particularly the tendency of executives to focus on project failure rather than organisational failure when their organisation fails to adequately support the management of its projects. 2 The PDC Architecture outlined in WP1074 – PDC Taxonomy 1 Strategic project management has many different terms for the same general set of management capabilities required to support the efficient delivery of the ‘right’ projects and programs. Some options include: - The Management of Projects: Prof. Peter Morris’ concept - Enterprize Project Management: tends to be used for the supporting software tools - Enterprise Project Governance: (used in a book by Paul Dinsmore & Luiz Rocha) focused on How to Manage Projects...

...People say that college is different than high school and you will see the difference when you get there, you do not get a heads up that every class time could be your last class. A professor has the right to drop pretty much for any reason, in high school the teacher is stuck with you and they have to deal with it. But from these difference I realized that I was by no means ready for college and what it had in store for me this semester. We as students are expected to know this stuff before class has even started, but the teachers in the past they said they are making us ready for college that is there goal for us as their students, but they are just holding are hand and walking us through high school and across the stage for graduation....

GSCM326 Week 2 Discussion DQ1 & DQ 2 Latest 2016 Jan. DQ 1 Deming's 14 Points (graded) Are Dr. Deming’s 14 points clear, concise, and achievable? If not, what do you think he had in mind? In Deming’s view, who needs to do what and why? DQ 2 Quality Awards and Standards (graded) The authors of our text talk about the Baldrige Award throughout their book. In previous versions, they even designed their text around this award. Given that our course is about TQM, an in-depth discussion of the Deming Prize would seem to be appropriate since it is the framework of company-wide quality control in Japan, which embodies what we call TQM in the United States, but is hardly discussed in our text. So let's do some research. Put on your investigative hats and see what you can find about the Deming Prize. You can use the Internet or any other sources you have available. How do you see the Deming Prize criteria fitting into TQM? How does the Deming Prize compare to the Baldrige Award? What are the differences and similarities between the Deming Prize and the Baldrige...

...be asked to write papers in which you compare and contrast two things: two texts, two theories, two historical figures, two scientific processes, and so on. "Classic" compare-and-contrast papers, in which you weight A and B equally, may be about two similar things that have crucial differences (two pesticides with different effects on the environment) or two similar things that have crucial differences, yet turn out to have surprising commonalities (two politicians with vastly different world views who voice unexpectedly similar perspectives on sexual harassment). In the "lens" (or "keyhole") comparison, in which you weight A less heavily than B, you use A as a lens through which to view B. Just as looking through a pair of glasses changes the way you see an object, using A as a framework for understanding B changes the way you see B. Lens comparisons are useful for illuminating, critiquing, or challenging the stability of a thing that, before the analysis, seemed perfectly understood. Often, lens comparisons take time into account: earlier texts, events, or historical figures may illuminate later ones, and vice versa. Faced with a daunting list of seemingly unrelated similarities and differences, you may feel confused about how to construct a paper that isn't just a mechanical exercise in which you first state all the features that A and B have in common, and then state all the ways in which A and B are different. Predictably, the thesis of such a paper is usually an assertion...

...still think some papers are pointless, but I have started to enjoy prompts such as narrative writing. In fact, I have even started to write my own story for fun. As a writer, I’d say I use pretty good language. I can describe things well, I’m good at organization, but I can improve on all of these. I also need to work on concentrating so that I don’t have to work late. A writer always has room to grow. While one may be excellent in some parts of writing, they’re not the best at everything. For me, I’d say I’m good at descriptions,...
