Neighbors are part of our daily lives. They are part of the process of socialization. Socialization is the process in which we interact with other people. In our lives, we are always trying to look for a good area to live, a nice house and most important of all good neighbors. In my opinion, a good neighbor should be respectful, friendly and helpful.

The first quality of good neighbors is that they should be friendly. The way to be friendly is showing their care about you, and they should welcome you to their neighborhood. Neighbors are those people we meet every day when we go in and out of our houses. A nice and sincere smile on their faces, or a simple 'hello' as a warm greeting on the way, may bring us a joyful mood for a start of a day. Nice neighbors will provide us a very comfortable living environment through their care and friendship. For example, in 2011 I moved to town house in Alexandria we had a moving truck parked in front of our house as soon as we open the door to unload the furniture an old guy and lady came in and introduce there selves and they said my name is William Macmahon and my wife is Karen and we are your new neighbors with big smile. They asked if he can help us to unload the furniture from the truck and they insisted to help. After they helped us unloading, his wife Karen went back to the house and offered us a welcoming gift classic homemade pie that she cooked it for us was delicious. They were such a friendly people. William told me about the local area such as where's the nearest grocery store and with happy voice said the garbage truck comes by on Tuesdays and Fridays, usually around 10 in the morning, but sometimes he sneaks in at 8.A good neighbor who willingly able to help you out when it is necessary is considered as a significant trait.
Another quality of good neighbor should have is to be respectful. Respect is the most important aspect of being a good neighbor. Neighbors should respect your space and privacy in order to live in a peaceful environment. In addition, neighbor should maintain a quiet environment not allowing loud music or noise that will bother others. Respect to one another is the most important quality that a neighbor should have in order to live in harmony. For example, our neighbor William and Karen has 2 teenage sons and a dog they always consider the others who live around him. They avoid keeping others awake with loud parties and barking dogs. They mow their lawns and maintain their property. They tried to keep their sons to be respectful too. The McMahon family knew that we are Muslims he respected our religion and traditions. They always came and celebrate our ‘Eid Al Fitr or Feast of Breaking the Fast it’s the first day after Ramadan which marks the end of Ramadan celebrated by all Muslims worldwide.
