After meeting with the client and evaluating their request this was my recommendation first we have to backup all patient data into the medical app in the server being that the computers are running on windows XP we are not able to perform an upgrade which means a clean installation is going to be required, also some output peripherals need to be added I recommend 3 printers one 3 in 1 and 2 network printers for the OM and the Head of administration looking at the floor plans and considering the size of the building everybody else should be able to go to the 3 in 1 to retrieve their work without problems. I also inform my client that he is eligible for window upgrade pricing even though he is not eligible for an in-place upgrade now I also informed him that he could upgrade to vista and then to Windows 7 but I don’t recommend to take that path. After performing minimum requirement check on all the computers they all passed which means we only will have to add the extra machines for the 3 doctors and nurses after evaluating the situation and the floor plans I decided to have one machine on each TC station one on the OM office with a network printer, one in the Vacant Office to accommodate any doctors that might arrive or any new hiring’s, One in the Admins Office, One in the DPS Office, One in the PCC Office, One in the VC/BC office I know is two different position but the reason behind this is that they won’t be counseling at the same time in the office and saying that there is no need for another computer in that office, 3 in the Psych Bullpen, 3 in the RN Bullpen, and one in the conference room for any meetings or as an extra computer in case one goes down this making a total of 17 machines 2 network printers and a 3 in 1. Also we would have to add some peripherals 6 display monitors for the extra machines being installed on the Rn and Psych Bullpens also mouse and keyboards for each one and a projector for the conference room for presentation purposes. The OM and the head of Administrations would have Administrator user profiles every other office will have standard user privilege for their role designation and for now the vacant office the conference room office and the RN and psych bullpen will remain as guest accounts since you might have different people at all times in those machines. After taking in to account the number machines and the needs of the business I recommended a windows 7 Professional version which if needed we could always upgrade to an ultimate because I believe there’s no need for an enterprise account on this size of a business for now.
