Networking Diagrams

Readily identifiable icons are used to depict common network appliances e.g. Router, and the style of lines between them indicate the type of connection. Clouds are used to represent networks external to the one pictured for the purposes of depicting connections between internal and external devices, without indicating the specifics of the outside network. For example, in the hypothetical local area network pictured to the right, three personal computers and a server are connected to a switch; the server is further connected to a printer and a gateway router, which is connected via a WAN link to the Internet.[1]

Depending on whether the diagram is intended for formal or informal use, certain details may be lacking and must be determined from context. For example, the sample diagram does not indicate the physical type of connection between the PCs and the switch, but since a modern LAN is depicted, Ethernet may be assumed. If the same style of line was used in a WAN (wide area network) diagram, however, it may indicate a different physical connection.

At different scales diagrams may represent various levels of network granularity. At the LAN level, individual nodes may represent individual physical devices, such as hubs or file servers, while at the WAN level, individual nodes may represent entire cities. In addition, when the scope of a diagram crosses the common LAN/MAN/WAN boundaries, representative hypothetical devices may be depicted instead of showing all actually existing nodes. For example, if a network appliance is intended to be connected through the Internet to many end-user mobile devices, only a single such device may be depicted for the purposes of showing the general relationship between the appliance and any such

Kristen's Cookie Company

...Case Report: Kristen’s Cookie Company Question 1 How long will it take to fulfill a rush order? | Gantt Chart for Kristen's Cookie Case | | | | | | | | | | | | | To fulfill the rush order it is still necessary to go through all parts of the process illustrated on the process flow diagram of the cookie-making process (it can be found on the last page). As there are no processes that can be done in a parallel way, every stage follows the other. Calculating the time needed for each step it can be concluded that the order can’t be prepared less than in 26 minutes. Question 2 How many orders can you fill in a night, assuming you are open 4 hours each night? We already know from the first question, the first dozen can be fulfilled in 26 minutes. Lets have a look, on the fastest possible way to prepare the second and all the following dozens. I can start preparing the 2nd order as soon as I start heating the oven (the chart visually demonstrates it): According to the chart it takes 26 minutes to fill the first order and 10 minutes more to fill each following order. From here we have: Operating time = 4*60 = 240 minutes The formula for counting the amount of orders that are able to be produced can be seen as: 16+10n <= 240 where n is the numbers of orders. From this equation we get, that n(max) = 22 dozen. So during 4 hours in a night one can prepare 22 dozen of cookies in 236 minutes. Question 3 How much of your own and your roommate’s valuable...

Here is a brief description of various scenarios using this library system. • Bob wanted to become a member at his local library. He went in and filled out an application form with his name, address, phone number, and driver's license number and gave it to the librarian, Alice. Alice logged into the system with her id and created a new membership for Bob. She then provided Bob with his new library card, and a login and password to his account. • Bob wanted to borrow two novels by C.S. Lewis, but he couldn’t remember their names. He used one of the computers at the library to search for the books by using the author's name. He found the titles he wanted, which were “The Chronicles of Narnia” and "The Space Trilogy". The first book was shown as available, and the second book was shown as out on loan. • Using his new login and password, Bob logged into his account and requested the book "The Space Trilogy" in order to recall it, so that when the book was returned it would be held for him at the library. • Bob then went to the stacks and found the book "The Chronicles of Narnia" on the shelf, and waited in line at the desk to check it out. He presented his ID card, and checked out the book with the librarian. • Before leaving the library...

Nt1310 Unit 5 Assignment 2 Area 5

...I continued transferring the data I gathered last Friday. I had scheduled my self that I need to finish the reports by 10:00 am to start the tasks given by Sir TJ and Ma’am Loi. Sir TJ asked me to determine the time it takes to finish the four tests in the PCM Wire bond Area 4 and Area 5. The tests included were Ball Shear Test, Wire Pull Test, Ball Access Ratio, and Loop Height. For Area 4 I had already data regarding the Ball Shear Test and the Wire Pull Test, so I just need to time the remaining two test. However, I need it would be my first time for the four tests in Area 5. Moreover, I need to identify what type of die (quad or dual) was being processed. On the other hand, ma’am Loi urgently needs the data about the length of time it takes to finish the Vacuum Dry Pack Operation in Packing Area EOL Area 5. It was already 9:30 but I was still organizing the data for the utilization report. The utilization project was the hardest I had handled so far, because I need to continously observe the time of both the operator and the machine. Ma’am Gem came and asked me if I had sent it to her. I told her that I am still typing the utilization report for Day 2 but I am already done with Day 1. She told me to send the report for her to see the results. She sat beside me and asked about the details of my report. We found out the only 37% was the utilization of the machine and the operator for four hours I conducted TMS. We were discussing about the results and I was struggling to continue...

Article Critique

...Article Critique MGMT Jacobson, Janet (2009). “Quality club teaches today’s learners to become tomorrow’s leaders.” A group of young students gather to study quality tools such as affinity diagrams, run charts, and histograms. Koality Kid Club at Hunter Ridge School won the 2008 Academic excellence award and serves 700 kids from kindergarten to sixth grade with knowledge and understanding of leadership skills they will need to become the next leaders of our country. These kids are handpicked judged by the qualities of responsibility, good listening skills, comfortable speaking in front of peers, and cooperation with students and adults. These are the qualities of a good leader and deserve to be treated in an honor program to help build on these leadership skills. This has been a great program not only for the kids but the teachers as well. It gives the students the extra edge they need to make it in the real world and it also gives the teachers a sense of purpose in these kids’ lives. In the program, the teachers go over simple tools such as a run chart, affinity diagram, and fishbone diagram. They relate these simple tools to everyday situations at home such as organizing a birthday party. It not only prepares them for later on in their lives but also helps them exercise these skills in the present. This is a great program for a gifted child that deserves to be treated like the leaders that they have the potential to be. The only question I have regarding...
