...Never Give Up” There is no such thing as an ending Just a new beginning. I think this quote is awesome, and has a lot of meaning in my life. To me this quote literally mean, “never give up” when I say never I mean never God does everything for a reason. So I never complain neither do I ever give up. Basically everything good I do with school or education wise is because I choose to. I know what I want in life so that's what I'm going to fight for until I get it. I have a good parents but when it comes to supporting me education wise, I never really had that. I am at the age where as though I don't let that bother me, because I know “ in the end of my new beginning” I know they will be proud of me. I really don't have a support system, it's really only me supporting my self. I mean I have people that care but don't support me. I have my days when I just wanna break down & emotionally cry and give up because I feel so alone not having anybody support me. Until I jump back to reality and “never give up” no matter how hard or how difficulty it get I will always keep trying. You always have to go through lemons to get to lemonade is my Moto. I honesty feel as though I came to far to give up! I am a very good well matured teenager, I am 17 years of age, I have 2 jobs. I work at tropical smoothie café on broad Cecil b-Moore and checkers in southwest Philadelphia. I am currently...

...the bench was extremely difficult to deal with. Consequently, as I missed the whole season, I wanted to start new. Once my knee was completely healed and I was finished with therapy, I joined a travelling club team. I immediately fell in love with the game again when I started playing. I still struggled with regaining the same strength and agility I had before, due to the lack of playing time I lost, but I never gave up. Unfortunately, I underwent the same circumstances when playing my junior year. It hurts to have something that you love taken away from you. When my playing time was taken from me a second time, my confidence and hope was lowered significantly. My love for the game, however, never wavered. After the school season ended, I went on to play volleyball on a travelling team again. Being able to be on the court and doing what I loved brought back the confidence and hope that I had lost before. Playing volleyball has had an enormous impact on my life. The most important thing I learned from playing was to never give up. If I hadn’t been persistent, defying the ups and downs and continuously learning throughout the journey, I wouldn’t be the person I am...

...It is easy to say something is hard to do if you never tried doing it. This saying hits home for me because there was a time I thought I could not play sports or thought that it would be a struggle because I had asthma. After beating myself up over not having the courage to try, my friends encouraged me to try out for basketball. When starting out it was a little hard to run and bounce the ball at the same time, it took even more energy and effort to shoot the ball. This did not help in keeping my spirit high. I felt defeated and stopped trying. While feeling bad about not being good right away I remembered what my mom told me “Everything does not come easy, you have to work for it”. This made me feel better and I practiced every day after school until I learned how to play the game. Now basketball is my favourite sport, if I had not tried it wouldn’t have been possible for me to brag about my accomplishments today. If you do not try to do something, you will never know if you are good at it. Confidence is the key when it comes to trying something new. Don’t be a failure by thinking you cannot do something or not even try. When making a mistake, try harder the next time and it will eventually become easy. You will be very happy and pleases with yourself when you try to do something and succeed. When attempting to do something put in the effort so you can be the best at it. I have learned that not trying is worst than trying and failing. I have so much...

...trying to stay awake, I pondered over a question. How can a subject possibly be so uninteresting? On every lesson, the teacher would go on forever about how ingenious the poet's use of verbs was, and how wonderfully he or she described the situation while using only a few words. She also never seemed to miss an opportunity to praise the author's brilliance while creating the characters. "How could it be possible for a literary work to be flawless?" – I asked myself waiting for my classmates' reaction; however, nobody seemed to dare to oppose the teacher's viewpoint. I decided to become the "pioneer". My chance came when we were learning about "The Miserable Ones" by Victor Hugo. My teacher immediately divided the characters into two separate compartments labelled "good" and "bad". I could not comprehend the teacher's notion that Javert, one of the characters, was a complete essence of evil and malevolence. She did not even consider any of his admirable traits such as his devotion to work or self-discipline. I personally considered him misguided rather than evil, but when I shared my view with the teacher, I was ignored. Days passed, and after numerous criticized and even ridiculed attempts to speak up my mind, my...

...should never give up. Some people may want to give up when exercising or doing homework, but this is not the right answer. I am here to say that you should never give up if you want to do well. I chose this topic to be my This I Believe essay because it really means something to me, and I will show that in the rest of this speech. I have had many experiences teaching me to never give up, but the best ones are in sports. I wrestle and play water polo, and they both are physically exerting sports, with tough exercises and games. Also, I have had experiences in school and other places showing me the value of working through tough times, even if it is emotionally or mentally challenging. I want to teach people that you should not give up, no matter the challenges, no matter the threat, because once you have started something, you must see it through....

...Here is an interview for Dr. Jimmy Adegoke who works in department of geosciences, and he is a climatologist whose research emphasizes the role of the land surface as drivers of weather and climate. I prepared several questions, and the central point I talked with him is what differences between business student and science student. I interviewed him in the student union, and his solemn and cautious leave me a deep impression when he put his palms together devoutly. When I finished my self-instruction, he stood up and shook hands with me, but no smile. I felt a little nervous. I told him that I am a business student, and our major is totally different, which is the reason I choose him to be my interviewee. He said his work is complex and complicated because it is not only teach, but also includes some researches about biology and geography, the supervision of master student, participating conference and the community of finical planning. I asked him what the favorite part in his work is. This question seems carried him back, and he paused as if to find a way to phrase his next thoughts. And then, he continued to say that to teach and work with students is his favorite work. He also said to spend a lot of time on research is not his will, and he would like to be with his family if there are 48 hours a day. When he said this I felt a man who has sense of responsibility and loves his family deeply. .To answer the central point of this interview, his response is that business students...

...I learned to never give up and that I’m capable of doing anything. After high school, I want to be in an environment where it is normal to be different and weird, where I’m able to freely express my ideas without being judged, and where it’s normal to go above and beyond. This is why HOWARD is perfect for me. At times I doubt myself, but I learned to not let self-doubt control my happiness. I love student council, but sometimes I put a lot of pressure on myself. After student council puts on a program for our school; my underarms are wet, my feet hurt, I’m a little dizzy from running everywhere, and i’m thinking about what everyone is thinks of me and the program. It’s also hard for me sometimes because another member has tried to prove me unworthy since I took my position. She even tried to tell our advisor that she should be president instead of me. Unfortunately, this is not the only instance where I’ve challenged my abilities. I’m also a majorette in the marching band and it can be...

...From the love for Helen that springs from Paris’ impassioned organs to the “fixed mark” that Shakespeare so passionately advocated for, our societal portrayal of love has wavered through the ages. Feeling of such ardent desire, be it carnal or maudlin, can be found in forms of art from all ages. For example, the hit single “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley” is a testament to all love that holds steadfast whilst “The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepard” by Sir Walter Raleigh scolds the Shepard false vows of love and as the “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli exalts the beauty of the female physical form. These three classic pieces of art contain similar and distinct ideals that our society has imposed on love. Somewhere engrained in everyone’s memory is Rick Astley’s phrase “Never Gonna Give You Up” paired with the popular accompanying rhythm that so gracefully pounces off one’s eardrums. Rick’s lyrics, “A full commitment is what I’m thinking of” attests to the modern attitude towards true love; Rick sees and values a love that can withstand age, as unwavering and unconditional as time....

...are here in pursuit of our dreams in life but some of us may give up when the going gets tough and the challenges seem impossible, but faith in our hearts is the fuel that will propel us through the challenges we face in life prior to realizing our dreams. According to Helen Steiner Rice a well-known poet, faith is a force that is greater than knowledge or power or skill and many defeats turn to triumph if you trust in God’s wisdom and will. On the journey towards our dreams the road may be tough and many of us will be faced with many tasks more than we can bear; challenges like working to support ourselves, raising children in addition to the course workloads may be very daunting and impossible and many may give up their dreams. But always remember the hills ahead are never as steep as they seem and with faith in our hearts and believe in ourselves we can climb until we reach our dreams. I remembered when my husband was preparing for pharmacy school he was a fulltime student, working for 12 hours a day, taking care of the household expenses, and he barely got 5 hours of sleep a day but despite the challenges he never gave up his dream of becoming a pharmacist. He was relentless in his pursuit of his dream through believe in himself and faith in God; and now he is a practicing pharmacist. As many of us are pursuing our dreams we may be confronted with many challenges, which may abort our dreams if we give up, but see challenges as opportunities in disguise. Remember challenges...

...One of my favorite inspirational lines of all time is from Jim Valvano during his ESPY’s speech in 1993 where he proclaimed” Don’t Give up, Don’t Ever Give Up”. Malala, Gabrielle, Jeanna, and the survivors from the Chilean Coal Mine catastrophe all had this mindset when faced with their predicaments. They were not going to give up, and were going to fight to regain their function and their will to live; namely, to keep on hoping and to avoid despair. Many actions enabled these people to stay hopeful, including their faith and daily prayer to God, love and support from their families and loved ones, and the devoted actions of healthcare providers and politicians. Each action enabled each person to remain hopeful and never give up. One action...
