What questions did you ask yourself about your chosen topic during your prewriting process?
Is there help for partial amputees in the future? Take for example me, I am missing two fingers on my left hand, actually only half of the fingers are gone, but is, or will there be a prosthetic for a person in the future like me?
Looking at the amount of the injured that have come back from the wars, it has amazed me that the soldiers are so resilient compared to the past. There are soldiers today in the military that have prosthetics and they are in a position to get things done, what are the differences in today’s thinking in regards to a soldier that has lost a limb? Is the soldier going to be a asset or a hindrance in the future? Can they use them in a capacity that the soldier came from so that they can get their enlistment? Have they made the prosthetics so durable that normal people are requesting them?

How does mind-mapping prepare you for outlining?

Instead of writing on a physical piece of paper I get put into the computer so as to save paper and the inconvenience of setting up my printer. I actually use a small program called sticky notes to do the brainstorming sometimes, I found that program about 8 years ago and have used ever since. I actually have it on a small memory stick somewhere. It is a good way to organize your thoughts, you can move the pieces around until it looks right, or in the order that you want.

Media

...When it comes to media I am not as in tune as I probably should be when it comes to new and things like that, but I do like to watch the new if I am up early in the morning, or right before I go to bed. The things that I care about the most when watching the news is the weather, the next is how many stupid people we actually have in the world, by that I mean people who are out there ruining the lives of themselves and the lives of others, I also listen to the radio and read the new paper. When I read the newspaper I am usually only looking for pets or a new place to move. I am not sure if it would be more focused toward media or not and if not then I am guessing that it would be more representative, I am not one for being into the media to much unless it involves the internet, that is where I spend 90% of my time if I am not working. I watch a lot of YouTube and spend a lot of time using social media if I am unable to have that then I feel like my life would not be the same. I live for Facebook and snap chat. I am not sure what else I could say about media at this point except that I like to watch a lot of movies and TV in my spare time that is if I am able to get any. But I try not to spend a lot of my time in front of a TV so my children don’t grow up in front on one. I want them to know that there is more to life then TV and social...

New Orleans Research Paper

...NEW ORLEANS: Terri is originally from New Orleans so we make a trip at least once a year. We discover new things every time we go, and also have favorites we like to revisit. It is a musical city that we both enjoy exploring. We at least try to hit the Jazz-fest in the spring. Finding things like tucked away clubs with well know musicians sitting in with other bands or just playing on their own. New Orleans is also a starting point for us to go fishing down the Delta. We always bring back a cooler full of Speckled Trout or Redfish. We have a couple of great captains that we found. Last time we stayed on one of the fish camps in Shell Beach. We woke up early and simply walked over to the boat minutes before needing to leave. It was summer and 90 degrees at 5am! The fish didn’t seem to notice the Louisiana heat, as we maxed out with 50 trout in 2 hours of fishing! All you have to do is clean and pack the fish in a cooler with ice packs. Check it as luggage and it flies home with you. Not a bad day’s effort. Speaking of fish...from down home cooking to up-scale French delicacies, the city of New Orleans is a diverse blend of people, cultures, and food. While the city serves up great food virtually everywhere, the French Quarter...

New York City Research Paper

...New York New York is like a glaring bright window in a distant view. It’s a place of sunshine. While I was exposed to various elements, my brain short-circuited and needed to be rebooted. Everything around me was moving like the speed of light, and I stood motionless in the middle of it all. The Buildings were breathtaking, and the streets filled with joy.As I explored this seemingly infinite city, I witnessed freedom at its core. While waiting anxiously for a taxi outside of JFK airport, my mind pondered the obvious differences between New York City and Greenville. The taxi driver approaches in his snazzy suit and says: “Where would you like to go?” He asked. “I would like for you to drop me off at Times Square.” I said. “ Sure!” He said....

New Jersey City Reflection Paper

...In March of 2012, I had occasion to travel out of town on a business trip to a large metropolitan area that I had never traveled to, but had always wanted to. The meeting was held in Jersey City, New Jersey, with upscale company within a major office building. After growing up in a small town in eastern Tennessee, and spending the majority of my time in the Nashville, Tennessee area, this would be very eye opening for me. The morning of the meeting was very remarkable to me; I can recall that the foyer of the office building was very upscale. Being a decade removed from the attack upon New York City, security was high, even though all of us were law enforcement; we were still subjected to the same security procedures before being allowed to enter the facility. I can still remember the view from the conference room that the meeting occurred in, it over looked the Hudson River and we were explained that this was the location that US...

New Wave Immigration Research Paper

...New Wave Immigrants I find it pretty easy to relate to the immigrants of New York in this time. I am first-generation American, with both of my parents being born in Jamaica as a part of the baby-boomer generation. My grandparents on my father’s side, Gwendolyn and Joshua, moved to Brooklyn, New York in the early 1970s from Clarendon Parish, Jamaica. Together they had brought their seven children to the United States, but never made them citizens, just permanent residences. When they became more comfortable in America, they followed the traditional suburban path and moved to Hartford Connecticut. My dad, Hugh, moved to Connecticut with them for a while, but enjoyed the freedom that the city had to offer, and moved back and met my mom shortly...

5 Forces Analysis

...5 Forces Analysis on the Paper Industry Looking at the position of the paper industry relative to the five forces model I had to determine exactly what constituted the paper industry. I had to decide between the Paper Mills Industry and Pulp Mills Industry and ultimately decided to analyze the Paper Mills Industry specifically when it came to paper industry as a whole. The NAICS Code that corresponds to the Paper Mills Industry is NAICS: 322121 or SIC Code 2621. Porter’s Five Forces Model of Competition includes the firm’s, or in this case the paper mill industry’s, position relative to current competitors, suppliers, customers, potential new entrants and potential substitutes. Over the next few pages I will conduct a five forces analysis of the Paper Mills Industry. Current Competitors: The degree of rivalry in the paper industry is the center of the five forces and the other four forces branch off of this. The first aspect to look at is the number and position of companies within the paper industry. There were 445 companies in 2009 and as of 2013 there are now 119 companies in the industry. This industry still has many competitors within the industry and therefor, there shouldn’t be any impact of any particular company. This industry is large enough where these firms can prosper without having to steal market share from each other and this is a positive for the paper industry. The second key factor is the industry growth rate and if there is room to increase revenues...
